Joshua 6
Now Iericho was straitly shut vp, because of the children of Israel: none went out, & none came in.

וִֽ/ירִיחוֹ֙ סֹגֶ֣רֶת וּ/מְסֻגֶּ֔רֶת מִ/פְּנֵ֖י בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אֵ֥ין יוֹצֵ֖א וְ/אֵ֥ין בָּֽא
And the LORD said vnto Ioshua, See, I haue giuen into thine hand Iericho, and the King thereof, and the mighty men of valour.
GenevaAnd the Lord saide vnto Ioshua, Behold, I haue giuen into thine hand Iericho and the King thereof, and the strong men of warre.
וַ/יֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אֶל יְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַ רְאֵה֙ נָתַ֣תִּי בְ/יָֽדְ/ךָ֔ אֶת יְרִיח֖וֹ וְ/אֶת מַלְכָּ֑/הּ גִּבּוֹרֵ֖י הֶ/חָֽיִל
And ye shall compasse the city, all yee men of warre, and goe round about the city once: thus shalt thou doe sixe dayes.
GenevaAll ye therefore that be men of warre, shall compasse the citie, in going round about the citie once: thus shall you doe sixe dayes:
וְ/סַבֹּתֶ֣ם אֶת הָ/עִ֗יר כֹּ֚ל אַנְשֵׁ֣י הַ/מִּלְחָמָ֔ה הַקֵּ֥יף אֶת הָ/עִ֖יר פַּ֣עַם אֶחָ֑ת כֹּ֥ה תַעֲשֶׂ֖ה שֵׁ֥שֶׁת יָמִֽים
And seuen Priests shall beare before the Arke seuen trumpets of rams hornes: and the seuenth day yee shall compasse the city seuen times, and the Priests shall blow with the trumpets.

וְ/שִׁבְעָ֣ה כֹהֲנִ֡ים יִשְׂאוּ֩ שִׁבְעָ֨ה שׁוֹפְר֤וֹת הַ/יּֽוֹבְלִים֙ לִ/פְנֵ֣י הָ/אָר֔וֹן וּ/בַ/יּוֹם֙ הַ/שְּׁבִיעִ֔י תָּסֹ֥בּוּ אֶת הָ/עִ֖יר שֶׁ֣בַע פְּעָמִ֑ים וְ/הַ/כֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים יִתְקְע֖וּ בַּ/שּׁוֹפָרֽוֹת
And it shall come to passe that when they make a long blast with the rammes-horne, and when ye heare the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout: and the wall of the citie shall fall downe flat, and the people shall ascend vp euery man straight before him.

וְ/הָיָ֞ה בִּ/מְשֹׁ֣ךְ בְּ/קֶ֣רֶן הַ/יּוֹבֵ֗ל ב/שמע/כם אֶת ק֣וֹל הַ/שּׁוֹפָ֔ר יָרִ֥יעוּ כָל הָ/עָ֖ם תְּרוּעָ֣ה גְדוֹלָ֑ה וְ/נָ֨פְלָ֜ה חוֹמַ֤ת הָ/עִיר֙ תַּחְתֶּ֔י/הָ וְ/עָל֥וּ הָ/עָ֖ם אִ֥ישׁ נֶגְדּֽ/וֹ
¶ And Ioshua the sonne of Nun called the Priests, and said vnto them, Take vp the Arke of the Couenant, and let seuen Priests beare seuen trumpets of rammes-hornes, before the Arke of the LORD.

וַ/יִּקְרָ֞א יְהוֹשֻׁ֤עַ בִּן נוּן֙ אֶל הַ/כֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים וַ/יֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵ/הֶ֔ם שְׂא֖וּ אֶת אֲר֣וֹן הַ/בְּרִ֑ית וְ/שִׁבְעָ֣ה כֹֽהֲנִ֗ים יִשְׂאוּ֙ שִׁבְעָ֤ה שֽׁוֹפְרוֹת֙ יוֹבְלִ֔ים לִ/פְנֵ֖י אֲר֥וֹן יְהוָֽה
And he said vnto the people, Passe on, and compasse the city, and let him that is armed passe on before the Arke of the LORD.
GenevaBut he said vnto the people, Goe and compasse the citie: and let him that is armed, go forth before the Arke of the Lord.
ו/יאמרו אֶל הָ/עָ֔ם עִבְר֖וּ וְ/סֹ֣בּוּ אֶת הָ/עִ֑יר וְ/הֶ֣/חָל֔וּץ יַעֲבֹ֕ר לִ/פְנֵ֖י אֲר֥וֹן יְהוָֽה
¶ And it came to passe when Ioshua had spoken vnto the people, that the seuen Priestes bearing the seuen trumpets of rammes hornes, passed on before the LORD, and blew with the trumpets: and the Arke of the Couenant of the LORD followed them.

וַ/יְהִ֗י כֶּ/אֱמֹ֣ר יְהוֹשֻׁעַ֮ אֶל הָ/עָם֒ וְ/שִׁבְעָ֣ה הַ/כֹּהֲנִ֡ים נֹשְׂאִים֩ שִׁבְעָ֨ה שׁוֹפְר֤וֹת הַ/יּֽוֹבְלִים֙ לִ/פְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה עָבְר֕וּ וְ/תָקְע֖וּ בַּ/שּֽׁוֹפָר֑וֹת וַֽ/אֲרוֹן֙ בְּרִ֣ית יְהוָ֔ה הֹלֵ֖ךְ אַחֲרֵי/הֶֽם
¶ And the armed men went before the Priests that blew with the trumpets: and the rereward came after the Arke, the Priests going on, and blowing with the trumpets.
GenevaAnd the men of armes went before the Priestes, that blewe the trumpets: then the gathering hoste came after the Arke, as they went and blewe the trumpets.
וְ/הֶ/חָל֣וּץ הֹלֵ֔ךְ לִ/פְנֵי֙ הַ/כֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים תקעו הַ/שּֽׁוֹפָר֑וֹת וְ/הַֽ/מְאַסֵּ֗ף הֹלֵךְ֙ אַחֲרֵ֣י הָ/אָר֔וֹן הָל֖וֹךְ וְ/תָק֥וֹעַ בַּ/שּׁוֹפָרֽוֹת
And Ioshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor make any noise with your voice, neither shall any word proceed out of your mouth, vntill the day I bid you shoute, then shall ye shoute.
Geneva(Nowe Ioshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall nor shout, neither make any noyse with your voyce, neither shall a worde proceede out of your mouth, vntill the day that I say vnto you, Shout, then shall ye shoute)
וְ/אֶת הָ/עָם֩ צִוָּ֨ה יְהוֹשֻׁ֜עַ לֵ/אמֹ֗ר לֹ֤א תָרִ֨יעוּ֙ וְ/לֹֽא תַשְׁמִ֣יעוּ אֶת קוֹלְ/כֶ֔ם וְ/לֹא יֵצֵ֥א מִ/פִּי/כֶ֖ם דָּבָ֑ר עַ֠ד י֣וֹם אָמְרִ֧/י אֲלֵי/כֶ֛ם הָרִ֖יעוּ וַ/הֲרִיעֹתֶֽם
So the Arke of the LORD compassed the citie, going about it once: and they came into the campe, and lodged in the campe.

וַ/יַּסֵּ֤ב אֲרוֹן יְהוָה֙ אֶת הָ/עִ֔יר הַקֵּ֖ף פַּ֣עַם אֶחָ֑ת וַ/יָּבֹ֨אוּ֙ הַֽ/מַּחֲנֶ֔ה וַ/יָּלִ֖ינוּ בַּֽ/מַּחֲנֶֽה
¶ And Ioshua rose earely in the morning, and the Priests tooke vp the Arke of the LORD.

וַ/יַּשְׁכֵּ֥ם יְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ בַּ/בֹּ֑קֶר וַ/יִּשְׂא֥וּ הַ/כֹּהֲנִ֖ים אֶת אֲר֥וֹן יְהוָֽה
And seuen Priests bearing seuen trumpets of rammes hornes before the Arke of the LORD, went on continually, and blew with the trumpets: and the armed men went before them, but the rereward came after the Arke of the LORD, the Priests going on and blowing with the trumpets.

And the second day they compassed the citie once, and returned into the campe: so they did sixe dayes.

And it came to passe on the seuenth day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the citie after the same maner, seuen times: only on that day they compassed the citie seuen times.

וַ/יְהִ֣י בַּ/יּ֣וֹם הַ/שְּׁבִיעִ֗י וַ/יַּשְׁכִּ֨מוּ֙ כַּ/עֲל֣וֹת הַ/שַּׁ֔חַר וַ/יָּסֹ֧בּוּ אֶת הָ/עִ֛יר כַּ/מִּשְׁפָּ֥ט הַ/זֶּ֖ה שֶׁ֣בַע פְּעָמִ֑ים רַ֚ק בַּ/יּ֣וֹם הַ/ה֔וּא סָבְב֥וּ אֶת הָ/עִ֖יר שֶׁ֥בַע פְּעָמִֽים
And it came to passe at the seuenth time, when the Priests blewe with the trumpets, Ioshua said vnto the people, Shout, for the LORD hath giuen you the citie.
GenevaAnd when the Priests had blowen ye trumpets the seuenth time, Ioshua said vnto ye people, Shoute: for the Lord hath giuen you the citie.
וַ/יְהִי֙ בַּ/פַּ֣עַם הַ/שְּׁבִיעִ֔ית תָּקְע֥וּ הַ/כֹּהֲנִ֖ים בַּ/שּׁוֹפָר֑וֹת וַ/יֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוֹשֻׁ֤עַ אֶל הָ/עָם֙ הָרִ֔יעוּ כִּֽי נָתַ֧ן יְהוָ֛ה לָ/כֶ֖ם אֶת הָ/עִֽיר
¶ And the citie shalbe accursed, euen it, and all that are therein, to the LORD: onely Rahab the harlot shal liue, she, and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.
GenevaAnd the citie shalbe an execrable thing, both it, and all that are therein, vnto the Lord: onely Rahab the harlot shall liue, shee, and all that are with her in the house: for shee hid the messengers that we sent.
וְ/הָיְתָ֨ה הָ/עִ֥יר חֵ֛רֶם הִ֥יא וְ/כָל אֲשֶׁר בָּ֖/הּ לַֽ/יהוָ֑ה רַק֩ רָחָ֨ב הַ/זּוֹנָ֜ה תִּֽחְיֶ֗ה הִ֚יא וְ/כָל אֲשֶׁ֣ר אִתָּ֣/הּ בַּ/בַּ֔יִת כִּ֣י הֶחְבְּאַ֔תָה אֶת הַ/מַּלְאָכִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר שָׁלָֽחְנוּ
And you, in any wise keepe your selues from the accursed thing, lest yee make your selues accursed, when yee take of the accursed thing, and make the campe of Israel a curse, and trouble it.
GenevaNotwithstanding, be ye ware of the execrable thing, lest ye make your selues execrable, and in taking of the execrable thing, make also the hoste of Israel execrable, and trouble it.
וְ/רַק אַתֶּם֙ שִׁמְר֣וּ מִן הַ/חֵ֔רֶם פֶּֽן תַּחֲרִ֖ימוּ וּ/לְקַחְתֶּ֣ם מִן הַ/חֵ֑רֶם וְ/שַׂמְתֶּ֞ם אֶת מַחֲנֵ֤ה יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לְ/חֵ֔רֶם וַ/עֲכַרְתֶּ֖ם אוֹתֽ/וֹ
But all the siluer, and gold, and vessels of brasse and yron, are consecrated vnto the LORD: they shall come into the treasurie of the LORD.
GenevaBut all siluer, and gold, and vessels of brasse, and yron shalbe consecrate vnto the Lord, and shall come into the Lordes treasury.
וְ/כֹ֣ל כֶּ֣סֶף וְ/זָהָ֗ב וּ/כְלֵ֤י נְחֹ֨שֶׁת֙ וּ/בַרְזֶ֔ל קֹ֥דֶשׁ ה֖וּא לַֽ/יהוָ֑ה אוֹצַ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה יָבֽוֹא
So the people shouted when the Priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to passe when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell downe flat, so that the people went vp into the citie, euery man straight before him, and they tooke the citie.

וַ/יָּ֣רַע הָ/עָ֔ם וַֽ/יִּתְקְע֖וּ בַּ/שֹּֽׁפָר֑וֹת וַ/יְהִי֩ כִ/שְׁמֹ֨עַ הָ/עָ֜ם אֶת ק֣וֹל הַ/שּׁוֹפָ֗ר וַ/יָּרִ֤יעוּ הָ/עָם֙ תְּרוּעָ֣ה גְדוֹלָ֔ה וַ/תִּפֹּ֨ל הַֽ/חוֹמָ֜ה תַּחְתֶּ֗י/הָ וַ/יַּ֨עַל הָ/עָ֤ם הָ/עִ֨ירָ/ה֙ אִ֣ישׁ נֶגְדּ֔/וֹ וַֽ/יִּלְכְּד֖וּ אֶת הָ/עִֽיר
And they vtterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, yong and old, and oxe, and sheepe, and asse, with the edge of the sword.

וַֽ/יַּחֲרִ֨ימוּ֙ אֶת כָּל אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּ/עִ֔יר מֵ/אִישׁ֙ וְ/עַד אִשָּׁ֔ה מִ/נַּ֖עַר וְ/עַד זָקֵ֑ן וְ/עַ֨ד שׁ֥וֹר וָ/שֶׂ֛ה וַ/חֲמ֖וֹר לְ/פִי חָֽרֶב
But Ioshua had said vnto the two men that had spied out the countrey; Goe into the harlots house, and bring out thence the woman and all that she hath, as ye sware vnto her.

And the yong men that were spies, went in, and brought out Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had: and they brought out all her kinred, and left them without the campe of Israel.

וַ/יָּבֹ֜אוּ הַ/נְּעָרִ֣ים הַֽ/מְרַגְּלִ֗ים וַ/יֹּצִ֡יאוּ אֶת רָ֠חָב וְ/אֶת אָבִ֨י/הָ וְ/אֶת אִמָּ֤/הּ וְ/אֶת אַחֶ֨י/הָ֙ וְ/אֶת כָּל אֲשֶׁר לָ֔/הּ וְ/אֵ֥ת כָּל מִשְׁפְּחוֹתֶ֖י/הָ הוֹצִ֑יאוּ וַ/יַּ֨נִּיח֔וּ/ם מִ/ח֖וּץ לְ/מַחֲנֵ֥ה יִשְׂרָאֵֽל
And they burnt the city with fire, and all that was therein: onely the siluer & the gold, and the vessels of brasse and of yron, they put into the Treasury of the house of the LORD.

וְ/הָ/עִ֛יר שָׂרְפ֥וּ בָ/אֵ֖שׁ וְ/כָל אֲשֶׁר בָּ֑/הּ רַ֣ק הַ/כֶּ֣סֶף וְ/הַ/זָּהָ֗ב וּ/כְלֵ֤י הַ/נְּחֹ֨שֶׁת֙ וְ/הַ/בַּרְזֶ֔ל נָתְנ֖וּ אוֹצַ֥ר בֵּית יְהוָֽה
And Ioshua saued Rahab the harlot aliue, and her fathers houshold, and all that she had: and she dwelleth in Israel euen vnto this day, because she hid the messengers which Ioshua sent to spy out Iericho.

וְֽ/אֶת רָחָ֣ב הַ֠/זּוֹנָה וְ/אֶת בֵּ֨ית אָבִ֤י/הָ וְ/אֶת כָּל אֲשֶׁר לָ/הּ֙ הֶחֱיָ֣ה יְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַ וַ/תֵּ֨שֶׁב֙ בְּ/קֶ֣רֶב יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל עַ֖ד הַ/יּ֣וֹם הַ/זֶּ֑ה כִּ֤י הֶחְבִּ֨יאָה֙ אֶת הַ/מַּלְאָכִ֔ים אֲשֶׁר שָׁלַ֥ח יְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ לְ/רַגֵּ֥ל אֶת יְרִיחֽוֹ
¶ And Ioshua adiured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before the LORD, that riseth vp and buildeth this city Iericho: he shall lay the foundation therof in his first borne, and in his yongest sonne shall hee set vp the gates of it.

וַ/יַּשְׁבַּ֣ע יְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַ בָּ/עֵ֥ת הַ/הִ֖יא לֵ/אמֹ֑ר אָר֨וּר הָ/אִ֜ישׁ לִ/פְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר יָקוּם֙ וּ/בָנָ֞ה אֶת הָ/עִ֤יר הַ/זֹּאת֙ אֶת יְרִיח֔וֹ בִּ/בְכֹר֣/וֹ יְיַסְּדֶ֔/נָּה וּ/בִ/צְעִיר֖/וֹ יַצִּ֥יב דְּלָתֶֽי/הָ
So the LORD was with Ioshua, and his fame was noised throughout all the countrey.
GenevaSo the Lord was with Ioshua, and he was famous through all the world.
וַ/יְהִ֥י יְהוָ֖ה אֶת יְהוֹשֻׁ֑עַ וַ/יְהִ֥י שָׁמְע֖/וֹ בְּ/כָל הָ/אָֽרֶץ
