Exodus 34
And the LORD said vnto Moses, Hew thee two Tables of stone, like vnto the first: and I will write vpon these Tables, the words that were in the first Tables which thou brakest.
GenevaAnd the Lord saide vnto Moses, Hewe thee two Tables of stone, like vnto the first, and I will write vpon the Tables the wordes that were in the first Tables, which thou brakest in pieces.
וַ/יֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אֶל מֹשֶׁ֔ה פְּסָל לְ/ךָ֛ שְׁנֵֽי לֻחֹ֥ת אֲבָנִ֖ים כָּ/רִאשֹׁנִ֑ים וְ/כָתַבְתִּי֙ עַל הַ/לֻּחֹ֔ת אֶת הַ/דְּבָרִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר הָי֛וּ עַל הַ/לֻּחֹ֥ת הָ/רִאשֹׁנִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר שִׁבַּֽרְתָּ
And be ready in the morning, and come vp in the morning vnto mount Sinai, and present thy selfe there to me, in the top of the mount.
GenevaAnd be ready in ye morning, that thou mayest come vp earely vnto the mount of Sinai, and waite there for me in the top of the mount.
וֶ/הְיֵ֥ה נָכ֖וֹן לַ/בֹּ֑קֶר וְ/עָלִ֤יתָ בַ/בֹּ֨קֶר֙ אֶל הַ֣ר סִינַ֔י וְ/נִצַּבְתָּ֥ לִ֛/י שָׁ֖ם עַל רֹ֥אשׁ הָ/הָֽר
And no man shall come vp with thee, neither let any man bee seene throughout all the mount, neither let the flockes nor herds feede before that mount.
GenevaBut let no man come vp with thee, neither let any man be seene throughout all the mount, neyther let the sheepe nor cattell feede before this mount.
וְ/אִישׁ֙ לֹֽא יַעֲלֶ֣ה עִמָּ֔/ךְ וְ/גַם אִ֥ישׁ אַל יֵרָ֖א בְּ/כָל הָ/הָ֑ר גַּם הַ/צֹּ֤אן וְ/הַ/בָּקָר֙ אַל יִרְע֔וּ אֶל מ֖וּל הָ/הָ֥ר הַ/הֽוּא
¶ And he hewed two Tables of stone, like vnto the first, and Moses rose vp earely in the morning, and went vp vnto mount Sinai, as the LORD had commanded him, and tooke in his hand the two tables of stone.

וַ/יִּפְסֹ֡ל שְׁנֵֽי לֻחֹ֨ת אֲבָנִ֜ים כָּ/רִאשֹׁנִ֗ים וַ/יַּשְׁכֵּ֨ם מֹשֶׁ֤ה בַ/בֹּ֨קֶר֙ וַ/יַּ֨עַל֙ אֶל הַ֣ר סִינַ֔י כַּ/אֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֹת֑/וֹ וַ/יִּקַּ֣ח בְּ/יָד֔/וֹ שְׁנֵ֖י לֻחֹ֥ת אֲבָנִֽים
And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the Name of the LORD.
GenevaAnd the Lord descended in the cloude, and stoode with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord.
וַ/יֵּ֤רֶד יְהוָה֙ בֶּֽ/עָנָ֔ן וַ/יִּתְיַצֵּ֥ב עִמּ֖/וֹ שָׁ֑ם וַ/יִּקְרָ֥א בְ/שֵׁ֖ם יְהוָֽה
And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, mercifull and gracious, long suffering, and abundant in goodnesse and trueth,
GenevaSo the Lord passed before his face, and cried, The Lord, the Lord, strong, mercifull, and gracious, slowe to anger, and abundant in goodnesse and trueth,
וַ/יַּעֲבֹ֨ר יְהוָ֥ה עַל פָּנָי/ו֮ וַ/יִּקְרָא֒ יְהוָ֣ה יְהוָ֔ה אֵ֥ל רַח֖וּם וְ/חַנּ֑וּן אֶ֥רֶךְ אַפַּ֖יִם וְ/רַב חֶ֥סֶד וֶ/אֱמֶֽת
Keeping mercie for thousands, forgiuing iniquitie and transgression and sinne, and that will by no meanes cleere the guiltie, visiting the iniquitie of the fathers vpon the children, and vpon the childrens children, vnto the third and to the fourth generation.

נֹצֵ֥ר חֶ֨סֶד֙ לָ/אֲלָפִ֔ים נֹשֵׂ֥א עָוֺ֛ן וָ/פֶ֖שַׁע וְ/חַטָּאָ֑ה וְ/נַקֵּה֙ לֹ֣א יְנַקֶּ֔ה פֹּקֵ֣ד עֲוֺ֣ן אָב֗וֹת עַל בָּנִים֙ וְ/עַל בְּנֵ֣י בָנִ֔ים עַל שִׁלֵּשִׁ֖ים וְ/עַל רִבֵּעִֽים
And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshipped.
GenevaThen Moses made haste and bowed him selfe to the earth, and worshipped,
וַ/יְמַהֵ֖ר מֹשֶׁ֑ה וַ/יִּקֹּ֥ד אַ֖רְצָ/ה וַ/יִּשְׁתָּֽחוּ
And he said, If now I haue found grace in thy sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray thee, goe amongst vs, (for it is a stiffenecked people,) and pardon our iniquitie, and our sinne, and take vs for thine inheritance.
GenevaAnd sayde, O Lord, I pray thee, If I haue founde grace in thy sight, that the Lord woulde nowe goe with vs (for it is a stiffe necked people) and pardon our iniquitie and our sinne, and take vs for thine inheritance.
וַ/יֹּ֡אמֶר אִם נָא֩ מָצָ֨אתִי חֵ֤ן בְּ/עֵינֶ֨י/ךָ֙ אֲדֹנָ֔/י יֵֽלֶךְ נָ֥א אֲדֹנָ֖/י בְּ/קִרְבֵּ֑/נוּ כִּ֤י עַם קְשֵׁה עֹ֨רֶף֙ ה֔וּא וְ/סָלַחְתָּ֛ לַ/עֲוֺנֵ֥/נוּ וּ/לְ/חַטָּאתֵ֖/נוּ וּ/נְחַלְתָּֽ/נוּ
¶ And he said, Behold, I make a couenant: before all thy people, I wil doe marueiles, such as haue not beene done in all the earth, nor in any nation: and all the people amongst which thou art, shall see the worke of the LORD: for it is a terrible thing that I will doe with thee.
GenevaAnd he answered, Behold, I will make a couenant before all thy people, and will do marueiles, such as haue not bene done in all the worlde, neyther in all nations: and all the people among whom thou art, shall see the worke of the Lord: for it is a terrible thing that I will do with thee.
וַ/יֹּ֗אמֶר הִנֵּ֣ה אָנֹכִי֮ כֹּרֵ֣ת בְּרִית֒ נֶ֤גֶד כָּֽל עַמְּ/ךָ֙ אֶעֱשֶׂ֣ה נִפְלָאֹ֔ת אֲשֶׁ֛ר לֹֽא נִבְרְא֥וּ בְ/כָל הָ/אָ֖רֶץ וּ/בְ/כָל הַ/גּוֹיִ֑ם וְ/רָאָ֣ה כָל הָ֠/עָם אֲשֶׁר אַתָּ֨ה בְ/קִרְבּ֜/וֹ אֶת מַעֲשֵׂ֤ה יְהוָה֙ כִּֽי נוֹרָ֣א ה֔וּא אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֲנִ֖י עֹשֶׂ֥ה עִמָּֽ/ךְ
Obserue thou that which I command thee this day: Behold, I driue out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hiuite, and the Iebusite.
GenevaKeepe diligently that which I commande thee this day: Beholde, I will cast out before thee the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Hiuites, and the Iebusites.
שְׁמָ֨ר לְ/ךָ֔ אֵ֛ת אֲשֶׁ֥ר אָנֹכִ֖י מְצַוְּ/ךָ֣ הַ/יּ֑וֹם הִנְ/נִ֧י גֹרֵ֣שׁ מִ/פָּנֶ֗י/ךָ אֶת הָ/אֱמֹרִי֙ וְ/הַֽ/כְּנַעֲנִ֔י וְ/הַ/חִתִּי֙ וְ/הַ/פְּרִזִּ֔י וְ/הַ/חִוִּ֖י וְ/הַ/יְבוּסִֽי
Take heed to thy selfe, lest thou make a couenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee.
GenevaTake heede to thy selfe, that thou make no compact with ye inhabitantes of the land whither thou goest, least they be the cause of ruine among you:
הִשָּׁ֣מֶר לְ/ךָ֗ פֶּן תִּכְרֹ֤ת בְּרִית֙ לְ/יוֹשֵׁ֣ב הָ/אָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֥ר אַתָּ֖ה בָּ֣א עָלֶ֑י/הָ פֶּן יִהְיֶ֥ה לְ/מוֹקֵ֖שׁ בְּ/קִרְבֶּֽ/ךָ
But ye shall destroy their altars, breake their images, and cut downe their groues.

כִּ֤י אֶת מִזְבְּחֹתָ/ם֙ תִּתֹּצ֔וּ/ן וְ/אֶת מַצֵּבֹתָ֖/ם תְּשַׁבֵּר֑וּ/ן וְ/אֶת אֲשֵׁרָ֖י/ו תִּכְרֹתֽוּ/ן
For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Ielous, is a Ielous God:
Geneva(For thou shalt bow downe to none other god, because the Lord, whose Name is Ielous, is a ielous God)
כִּ֛י לֹ֥א תִֽשְׁתַּחֲוֶ֖ה לְ/אֵ֣ל אַחֵ֑ר כִּ֤י יְהוָה֙ קַנָּ֣א שְׁמ֔/וֹ אֵ֥ל קַנָּ֖א הֽוּא
Lest thou make a couenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they goe a whoring after their gods, and doe sacrifice vnto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eate of his sacrifice,

פֶּן תִּכְרֹ֥ת בְּרִ֖ית לְ/יוֹשֵׁ֣ב הָ/אָ֑רֶץ וְ/זָנ֣וּ אַחֲרֵ֣י אֱלֹֽהֵי/הֶ֗ם וְ/זָבְחוּ֙ לֵ/אלֹ֣הֵי/הֶ֔ם וְ/קָרָ֣א לְ/ךָ֔ וְ/אָכַלְתָּ֖ מִ/זִּבְחֽ/וֹ
And thou take of their daughters vnto thy sonnes, and their daughters goe a whoring after their gods, and make thy sonnes goe a whoring after their gods.

וְ/לָקַחְתָּ֥ מִ/בְּנֹתָ֖י/ו לְ/בָנֶ֑י/ךָ וְ/זָנ֣וּ בְנֹתָ֗י/ו אַחֲרֵי֙ אֱלֹ֣הֵי/הֶ֔ן וְ/הִזְנוּ֙ אֶת בָּנֶ֔י/ךָ אַחֲרֵ֖י אֱלֹהֵי/הֶֽן
Thou shalt make thee no molten gods.
GenevaThou shalt make thee no gods of metall.
אֱלֹהֵ֥י מַסֵּכָ֖ה לֹ֥א תַעֲשֶׂה לָּֽ/ךְ
¶ The feast of vnleauened bread shalt thou keepe: Seuen dayes thou shalt eate vnleauened bread, as I commanded thee in the time of the moneth Abib: for in the moneth Abib thou camest out from Egypt.

אֶת חַ֣ג הַ/מַּצּוֹת֮ תִּשְׁמֹר֒ שִׁבְעַ֨ת יָמִ֜ים תֹּאכַ֤ל מַצּוֹת֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר צִוִּיתִ֔/ךָ לְ/מוֹעֵ֖ד חֹ֣דֶשׁ הָ/אָבִ֑יב כִּ֚י בְּ/חֹ֣דֶשׁ הָֽ/אָבִ֔יב יָצָ֖אתָ מִ/מִּצְרָֽיִם
All that openeth the matrixe is mine: and euery firstling amongst thy cattell, whether oxe or sheepe, that is male.
GenevaEuery male, that first openeth the wombe, shalbe mine: also all the first borne of thy flocke shalbe rekoned mine, both of beeues and sheepe.
כָּל פֶּ֥טֶר רֶ֖חֶם לִ֑/י וְ/כָֽל מִקְנְ/ךָ֙ תִּזָּכָ֔ר פֶּ֖טֶר שׁ֥וֹר וָ/שֶֽׂה
But the firstling of an Asse thou shalt redeeme with a lambe: and if thou redeeme him not, then shalt thou breake his necke. All the first borne of thy sonnes thou shalt redeeme: and none shall appeare before me empty.

וּ/פֶ֤טֶר חֲמוֹר֙ תִּפְדֶּ֣ה בְ/שֶׂ֔ה וְ/אִם לֹ֥א תִפְדֶּ֖ה וַ/עֲרַפְתּ֑/וֹ כֹּ֣ל בְּכ֤וֹר בָּנֶ֨י/ךָ֙ תִּפְדֶּ֔ה וְ/לֹֽא יֵרָא֥וּ פָנַ֖/י רֵיקָֽם
¶ Sixe dayes thou shalt worke, but on the seuenth day thou shalt rest: in earing time and in haruest thou shalt rest.
GenevaSix dayes shalt thou worke, and in the seuenth day thou shalt rest: both in earing time, and in the haruest thou shalt rest.
שֵׁ֤שֶׁת יָמִים֙ תַּעֲבֹ֔ד וּ/בַ/יּ֥וֹם הַ/שְּׁבִיעִ֖י תִּשְׁבֹּ֑ת בֶּ/חָרִ֥ישׁ וּ/בַ/קָּצִ֖יר תִּשְׁבֹּֽת
¶ And thou shalt obserue the feast of weekes, of the first fruits of wheat haruest, and the feast of ingathering at the yeeres end.
GenevaThou shalt also obserue the feast of weekes in the time of ye first fruits of wheate haruest, and the feast of gathering fruites in the ende of the yere.
וְ/חַ֤ג שָׁבֻעֹת֙ תַּעֲשֶׂ֣ה לְ/ךָ֔ בִּכּוּרֵ֖י קְצִ֣יר חִטִּ֑ים וְ/חַג֙ הָֽ/אָסִ֔יף תְּקוּפַ֖ת הַ/שָּׁנָֽה
¶ Thrice in the yeere shall all your men children appeare before the Lord GOD, the God of Israel.
GenevaThrise in a yere shall all your men children appeare before the Lord Iehouah God of Israel.
שָׁלֹ֥שׁ פְּעָמִ֖ים בַּ/שָּׁנָ֑ה יֵרָאֶה֙ כָּל זְכ֣וּרְ/ךָ֔ אֶת פְּנֵ֛י הָֽ/אָדֹ֥ן יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל
For I will cast out the nations before thee, and enlarge thy borders: neither shall any man desire thy land, when thou shalt goe vp to appeare before the LORD thy God, thrice in the yeere.
GenevaFor I wil cast out the nations before thee, and enlarge thy coasts, so that no man shall desire thy land, whe thou shalt come vp to appeare before the Lord thy God thrise in the yeere.
כִּֽי אוֹרִ֤ישׁ גּוֹיִם֙ מִ/פָּנֶ֔י/ךָ וְ/הִרְחַבְתִּ֖י אֶת גְּבוּלֶ֑/ךָ וְ/לֹא יַחְמֹ֥ד אִישׁ֙ אֶֽת אַרְצְ/ךָ֔ בַּ/עֲלֹֽתְ/ךָ֗ לֵ/רָאוֹת֙ אֶת פְּנֵי֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔י/ךָ שָׁלֹ֥שׁ פְּעָמִ֖ים בַּ/שָּׁנָֽה
Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leauen, neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of Passeouer be left vnto the morning.
GenevaThou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leauen, neither shall ought of the sacrifice of the feast of Passeouer be left vnto the morning.
לֹֽא תִשְׁחַ֥ט עַל חָמֵ֖ץ דַּם זִבְחִ֑/י וְ/לֹא יָלִ֣ין לַ/בֹּ֔קֶר זֶ֖בַח חַ֥ג הַ/פָּֽסַח
The first of the first fruits of thy land thou shalt bring vnto the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seeth a kid in his mothers milke.
GenevaThe first ripe fruites of thy land thou shalt bring vnto the house of the Lord thy God: yet shalt thou not seethe a kid in his mothers milke.
רֵאשִׁ֗ית בִּכּוּרֵי֙ אַדְמָ֣תְ/ךָ֔ תָּבִ֕יא בֵּ֖ית יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֑י/ךָ לֹא תְבַשֵּׁ֥ל גְּדִ֖י בַּ/חֲלֵ֥ב אִמּֽ/וֹ
And the LORD said vnto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenour of these wordes, I haue made a couenant with thee, and with Israel.

וַ/יֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אֶל מֹשֶׁ֔ה כְּתָב לְ/ךָ֖ אֶת הַ/דְּבָרִ֣ים הָ/אֵ֑לֶּה כִּ֞י עַל פִּ֣י הַ/דְּבָרִ֣ים הָ/אֵ֗לֶּה כָּרַ֧תִּי אִתְּ/ךָ֛ בְּרִ֖ית וְ/אֶת יִשְׂרָאֵֽל
And hee was there with the LORD forty dayes and forty nights: he did neither eat bread, nor drinke water; and he wrote vpon the Tables the words of the couenant, the ten Commandements.
GenevaSo hee was there with the Lord fourtie dayes and fourtie nights, and did neither eat bread nor drinke water: and hee wrote in the Tables the wordes of the couenant, euen the tenne commandements.
וַֽ/יְהִי שָׁ֣ם עִם יְהוָ֗ה אַרְבָּעִ֥ים יוֹם֙ וְ/אַרְבָּעִ֣ים לַ֔יְלָה לֶ֚חֶם לֹ֣א אָכַ֔ל וּ/מַ֖יִם לֹ֣א שָׁתָ֑ה וַ/יִּכְתֹּ֣ב עַל הַ/לֻּחֹ֗ת אֵ֚ת דִּבְרֵ֣י הַ/בְּרִ֔ית עֲשֶׂ֖רֶת הַ/דְּבָרִֽים
¶ And it came to passe when Moses came downe from mount Sinai (with the two Tables of Testimony in Moses hand, when hee came downe from the mount) that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone, while he talked with him.
GenevaSo when Moses came downe from mount Sinai, the two Tables of the Testimonie were in Moses hande, as hee descended from the mount: (nowe Moses wist not that the skinne of his face shone bright, after that God had talked with him.
וַ/יְהִ֗י בְּ/רֶ֤דֶת מֹשֶׁה֙ מֵ/הַ֣ר סִינַ֔י וּ/שְׁנֵ֨י לֻחֹ֤ת הָֽ/עֵדֻת֙ בְּ/יַד מֹשֶׁ֔ה בְּ/רִדְתּ֖/וֹ מִן הָ/הָ֑ר וּ/מֹשֶׁ֣ה לֹֽא יָדַ֗ע כִּ֥י קָרַ֛ן ע֥וֹר פָּנָ֖י/ו בְּ/דַבְּר֥/וֹ אִתּֽ/וֹ
And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skinne of his face shone, and they were afraid to come nigh him.
GenevaAnd Aaron and all the children of Israel looked vpon Moses, and beholde, the skin of his face shone bright, and they were afraid to come neere him)
וַ/יַּ֨רְא אַהֲרֹ֜ן וְ/כָל בְּנֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ אֶת מֹשֶׁ֔ה וְ/הִנֵּ֥ה קָרַ֖ן ע֣וֹר פָּנָ֑י/ו וַ/יִּֽירְא֖וּ מִ/גֶּ֥שֶׁת אֵלָֽי/ו
And Moses called vnto them, and Aaron and all the rulers of the Congregation returned vnto him, and Moses talked with them.
GenevaBut Moses called them: and Aaron and all the chiefe of the congregation returned vnto him: and Moses talked with them.
וַ/יִּקְרָ֤א אֲלֵ/הֶם֙ מֹשֶׁ֔ה וַ/יָּשֻׁ֧בוּ אֵלָ֛י/ו אַהֲרֹ֥ן וְ/כָל הַ/נְּשִׂאִ֖ים בָּ/עֵדָ֑ה וַ/יְדַבֵּ֥ר מֹשֶׁ֖ה אֲלֵ/הֶֽם
And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gaue them in commandement all that the LORD had spoken with him in mount Sinai.
GenevaAnd afterwarde all the children of Israel came neere, and he charged them with al that the Lord had said vnto him in mount Sinai.
וְ/אַחֲרֵי כֵ֥ן נִגְּשׁ֖וּ כָּל בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַ/יְצַוֵּ֕/ם אֵת֩ כָּל אֲשֶׁ֨ר דִּבֶּ֧ר יְהוָ֛ה אִתּ֖/וֹ בְּ/הַ֥ר סִינָֽי
And till Moses had done speaking with them, he put a vaile on his face.
GenevaSo Moses made an end of comuning with them, and had put a couering vpon his face.
וַ/יְכַ֣ל מֹשֶׁ֔ה מִ/דַּבֵּ֖ר אִתָּ֑/ם וַ/יִּתֵּ֥ן עַל פָּנָ֖י/ו מַסְוֶֽה
But when Moses went in before the LORD to speake with him, hee tooke the vaile off, vntill he came out: And hee came out and spake vnto the children of Israel, that which he was commanded.
GenevaBut, when Moses came before the Lord to speake with him, he tooke off the couering vntill he came out: then he came out, and spake vnto the children of Israel that which he was commanded.
וּ/בְ/בֹ֨א מֹשֶׁ֜ה לִ/פְנֵ֤י יְהוָה֙ לְ/דַבֵּ֣ר אִתּ֔/וֹ יָסִ֥יר אֶת הַ/מַּסְוֶ֖ה עַד צֵאת֑/וֹ וְ/יָצָ֗א וְ/דִבֶּר֙ אֶל בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֵ֖ת אֲשֶׁ֥ר יְצֻוֶּֽה
And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skinne of Moses face shone: and Moses put the vaile vpon his face againe, vntill hee went in to speake with him.
