Chapter 33
Exodus 33
And the LORD said vnto Moses, Depart, and goe vp hence, thou and the people which thou hast brought vp out of the land of Egypt, vnto the land which I sware vnto Abraham, to Isaac, & to Iacob, saying, Unto thy seed will I giue it.

וַ/יְדַבֵּ֨ר יְהוָ֤ה אֶל מֹשֶׁה֙ לֵ֣ךְ עֲלֵ֣ה מִ/זֶּ֔ה אַתָּ֣ה וְ/הָ/עָ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֶֽעֱלִ֖יתָ מֵ/אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם אֶל הָ/אָ֗רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֣ר נִ֠שְׁבַּעְתִּי לְ/אַבְרָהָ֨ם לְ/יִצְחָ֤ק וּֽ/לְ/יַעֲקֹב֙ לֵ/אמֹ֔ר לְ/זַרְעֲ/ךָ֖ אֶתְּנֶֽ/נָּה
And I will send an Angel before thee, and I will driue out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hiuite, and the Iebusite:
GenevaAnd I will send an Angel before thee and will cast out the Canaanites, the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, the Hiuites, and the Iebusites:
וְ/שָׁלַחְתִּ֥י לְ/פָנֶ֖י/ךָ מַלְאָ֑ךְ וְ/גֵֽרַשְׁתִּ֗י אֶת הַֽ/כְּנַעֲנִי֙ הָֽ/אֱמֹרִ֔י וְ/הַֽ/חִתִּי֙ וְ/הַ/פְּרִזִּ֔י הַ/חִוִּ֖י וְ/הַ/יְבוּסִֽי
Unto a land flowing with milke and hony: For I will not goe vp in the midst of thee: for thou art a stiffenecked people, lest I consume thee in the way.
GenevaTo a lande, I say, that floweth with milke and hony: for I will not goe vp with thee, because thou art a stiffe necked people, least I consume thee in the way.
אֶל אֶ֛רֶץ זָבַ֥ת חָלָ֖ב וּ/דְבָ֑שׁ כִּי֩ לֹ֨א אֶֽעֱלֶ֜ה בְּ/קִרְבְּ/ךָ֗ כִּ֤י עַם קְשֵׁה עֹ֨רֶף֙ אַ֔תָּה פֶּן אֲכֶלְ/ךָ֖ בַּ/דָּֽרֶךְ
¶ And when the people heard these euill tidings, they mourned: and no man did put on him his ornaments.
GenevaAnd when the people heard this euill tydings, they sorowed, and no man put on his best rayment.
וַ/יִּשְׁמַ֣ע הָ/עָ֗ם אֶת הַ/דָּבָ֥ר הָ/רָ֛ע הַ/זֶּ֖ה וַ/יִּתְאַבָּ֑לוּ וְ/לֹא שָׁ֛תוּ אִ֥ישׁ עֶדְי֖/וֹ עָלָֽי/ו
For the LORD had saide vnto Moses, Say vnto the children of Israel, Ye are a stiffenecked people: I wil come vp into the midst of thee in a moment, & consume thee: Therefore now put off thy ornaments from thee, that I may know what to doe vnto thee.
Geneva(For the Lord had said to Moses, Say vnto the children of Israel, Ye are a stiffe necked people, I wil come suddenly vpon thee, and consume thee: therefore now put thy costly rayment from thee, that I may know what to do vnto thee)
וַ/יֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֶל מֹשֶׁ֗ה אֱמֹ֤ר אֶל בְּנֵֽי יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ אַתֶּ֣ם עַם קְשֵׁה עֹ֔רֶף רֶ֧גַע אֶחָ֛ד אֶֽעֱלֶ֥ה בְ/קִרְבְּ/ךָ֖ וְ/כִלִּיתִ֑י/ךָ וְ/עַתָּ֗ה הוֹרֵ֤ד עֶדְיְ/ךָ֙ מֵֽ/עָלֶ֔י/ךָ וְ/אֵדְעָ֖ה מָ֥ה אֶֽעֱשֶׂה לָּֽ/ךְ
And the children of Israel stript themselues of their ornaments, by the mount Horeb.
GenevaSo the children of Israel layed their good raiment from them, after Moses came downe from the mount Horeb.
וַ/יִּֽתְנַצְּל֧וּ בְנֵֽי יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל אֶת עֶדְיָ֖/ם מֵ/הַ֥ר חוֹרֵֽב
And Moses tooke the Tabernacle, & pitched it without the campe, a farre off from the campe, and called it the Tabernacle of the Congregation: And it came to passe, that euery one which sought the LORD, went out vnto the Tabernacle of the Congregation, which was without the campe.
GenevaThen Moses tooke his tabernacle, and pitched it without the host farre off from the hoste, and called it Ohel-moed. And whe any did seeke to the Lord, he went out vnto the Tabernacle of the Congregation, which was without the hoste.
וּ/מֹשֶׁה֩ יִקַּ֨ח אֶת הָ/אֹ֜הֶל וְ/נָֽטָה ל֣/וֹ מִ/ח֣וּץ לַֽ/מַּחֲנֶ֗ה הַרְחֵק֙ מִן הַֽ/מַּחֲנֶ֔ה וְ/קָ֥רָא ל֖/וֹ אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד וְ/הָיָה֙ כָּל מְבַקֵּ֣שׁ יְהוָ֔ה יֵצֵא֙ אֶל אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֔ד אֲשֶׁ֖ר מִ/ח֥וּץ לַֽ/מַּחֲנֶֽה
And it came to passe when Moses went out vnto the Tabernacle, that all the people rose vp, and stood euery man at his tent doore, and looked after Moses, vntill he was gone into the Tabernacle.

And it came to passe as Moses entred into the Tabernacle, the cloudy pillar descended, and stood at the doore of the Tabernacle, and the LORD talked with Moses.

וְ/הָיָ֗ה כְּ/בֹ֤א מֹשֶׁה֙ הָ/אֹ֔הֱלָ/ה יֵרֵד֙ עַמּ֣וּד הֶֽ/עָנָ֔ן וְ/עָמַ֖ד פֶּ֣תַח הָ/אֹ֑הֶל וְ/דִבֶּ֖ר עִם מֹשֶֽׁה
And all the people saw the cloudy pillar stand at the Tabernacle doore: and all the people rose vp, and worshipped euery man in his tent doore.

וְ/רָאָ֤ה כָל הָ/עָם֙ אֶת עַמּ֣וּד הֶֽ/עָנָ֔ן עֹמֵ֖ד פֶּ֣תַח הָ/אֹ֑הֶל וְ/קָ֤ם כָּל הָ/עָם֙ וְ/הִֽשְׁתַּחֲוּ֔וּ אִ֖ישׁ פֶּ֥תַח אָהֳלֽ/וֹ
And the LORD spake vnto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh vnto his friend. And he turned againe into the campe, but his seruant Ioshua the sonne of Nun, a yong man, departed not out of the Tabernacle.

וְ/דִבֶּ֨ר יְהוָ֤ה אֶל מֹשֶׁה֙ פָּנִ֣ים אֶל פָּנִ֔ים כַּ/אֲשֶׁ֛ר יְדַבֵּ֥ר אִ֖ישׁ אֶל רֵעֵ֑/הוּ וְ/שָׁב֙ אֶל הַֽ/מַּחֲנֶ֔ה וּ/מְשָׁ֨רְת֜/וֹ יְהוֹשֻׁ֤עַ בִּן נוּן֙ נַ֔עַר לֹ֥א יָמִ֖ישׁ מִ/תּ֥וֹךְ הָ/אֹֽהֶל
¶ And Moses saide vnto the LORD, See, thou sayest vnto mee, Bring vp this people, and thou hast not let mee know whome thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I knowe thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight.

וַ/יֹּ֨אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֜ה אֶל יְהוָ֗ה רְ֠אֵה אַתָּ֞ה אֹמֵ֤ר אֵלַ/י֙ הַ֚עַל אֶת הָ/עָ֣ם הַ/זֶּ֔ה וְ/אַתָּה֙ לֹ֣א הֽוֹדַעְתַּ֔/נִי אֵ֥ת אֲשֶׁר תִּשְׁלַ֖ח עִמִּ֑/י וְ/אַתָּ֤ה אָמַ֨רְתָּ֙ יְדַעְתִּ֣י/ךָֽ בְ/שֵׁ֔ם וְ/גַם מָצָ֥אתָ חֵ֖ן בְּ/עֵינָֽ/י
Now therefore, I pray thee, If I haue found grace in thy sight, shewe mee now thy way that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.
GenevaNowe therefore, I pray thee, if I haue founde fauour in thy sight, shewe mee nowe thy way, that I may knowe thee, and that I may finde grace in thy sight: consider also that this nation is thy people.
וְ/עַתָּ֡ה אִם נָא֩ מָצָ֨אתִי חֵ֜ן בְּ/עֵינֶ֗י/ךָ הוֹדִעֵ֤/נִי נָא֙ אֶת דְּרָכֶ֔/ךָ וְ/אֵדָ֣עֲ/ךָ֔ לְמַ֥עַן אֶמְצָא חֵ֖ן בְּ/עֵינֶ֑י/ךָ וּ/רְאֵ֕ה כִּ֥י עַמְּ/ךָ֖ הַ/גּ֥וֹי הַ/זֶּֽה
And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will giue thee rest.
GenevaAnd he answered, My presence shall go with thee, and I will giue thee rest.
וַ/יֹּאמַ֑ר פָּנַ֥/י יֵלֵ֖כוּ וַ/הֲנִחֹ֥תִי לָֽ/ךְ
And he said vnto him, If thy presence goe not with mee, carie vs not vp hence.
GenevaThen he sayd vnto him, If thy presence go not with vs, cary vs not hence.
וַ/יֹּ֖אמֶר אֵלָ֑י/ו אִם אֵ֤ין פָּנֶ֨י/ךָ֙ הֹלְכִ֔ים אַֽל תַּעֲלֵ֖/נוּ מִ/זֶּֽה
For wherein shall it bee knowen here, that I and thy people haue found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with vs? So shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are vpon the face of the earth.
GenevaAnd wherein nowe shall it be knowen, that I and thy people haue found fauour in thy sight? shall it not be when thou goest with vs? so I, and thy people shall haue preeminence before all the people that are vpon the earth.
וּ/בַ/מֶּ֣ה יִוָּדַ֣ע אֵפ֗וֹא כִּֽי מָצָ֨אתִי חֵ֤ן בְּ/עֵינֶ֨י/ךָ֙ אֲנִ֣י וְ/עַמֶּ֔/ךָ הֲ/ל֖וֹא בְּ/לֶכְתְּ/ךָ֣ עִמָּ֑/נוּ וְ/נִפְלֵ֨ינוּ֙ אֲנִ֣י וְ/עַמְּ/ךָ֔ מִ/כָּ֨ל הָ/עָ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל פְּנֵ֥י הָ/אֲדָמָֽה
And the LORD said vnto Moses, I will doe this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.
GenevaAnd the Lord sayde vnto Moses, I will doe this also that thou hast saide: for thou hast founde grace in my sight, and I knowe thee by name.
וַ/יֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אֶל מֹשֶׁ֔ה גַּ֣ם אֶת הַ/דָּבָ֥ר הַ/זֶּ֛ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבַּ֖רְתָּ אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֑ה כִּֽי מָצָ֤אתָ חֵן֙ בְּ/עֵינַ֔/י וָ/אֵדָעֲ/ךָ֖ בְּ/שֵֽׁם
And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.
GenevaAgaine he sayde, I beseech thee, shewe me thy glory.
וַ/יֹּאמַ֑ר הַרְאֵ֥/נִי נָ֖א אֶת כְּבֹדֶֽ/ךָ
And he said, I will make all my goodnesse passe before thee, and I will proclaime the name of the LORD before thee: and will bee gracious to whom I wil be gracious, and wil shew mercie on whom I will shew mercie.
GenevaAnd he answered, I wil make all my good go before thee, and I wil proclaime the Name of the Lord before thee: for I will shewe mercy to whom I will shewe mercy, and will haue compassion on whom I will haue compassion.
וַ/יֹּ֗אמֶר אֲנִ֨י אַעֲבִ֤יר כָּל טוּבִ/י֙ עַל פָּנֶ֔י/ךָ וְ/קָרָ֧אתִֽי בְ/שֵׁ֛ם יְהוָ֖ה לְ/פָנֶ֑י/ךָ וְ/חַנֹּתִי֙ אֶת אֲשֶׁ֣ר אָחֹ֔ן וְ/רִחַמְתִּ֖י אֶת אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֲרַחֵֽם
And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see mee, and liue.
GenevaFurthermore he sayde, Thou canst not see my face, for there shall no man see me, and liue.
וַ/יֹּ֕אמֶר לֹ֥א תוּכַ֖ל לִ/רְאֹ֣ת אֶת פָּנָ֑/י כִּ֛י לֹֽא יִרְאַ֥/נִי הָ/אָדָ֖ם וָ/חָֽי
And the LORD said, Beholde, there is a place by mee, and thou shalt stand vpon a rocke.
GenevaAlso the Lord sayd, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand vpon the rocke:
וַ/יֹּ֣אמֶר יְהוָ֔ה הִנֵּ֥ה מָק֖וֹם אִתִּ֑/י וְ/נִצַּבְתָּ֖ עַל הַ/צּֽוּר
And it shall come to passe, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rocke, and will couer thee with my hand, while I passe by.
GenevaAnd while my glory passeth by, I will put thee in a cleft of the rocke, and will couer thee with mine hand whiles I passe by.
וְ/הָיָה֙ בַּ/עֲבֹ֣ר כְּבֹדִ֔/י וְ/שַׂמְתִּ֖י/ךָ בְּ/נִקְרַ֣ת הַ/צּ֑וּר וְ/שַׂכֹּתִ֥י כַפִּ֛/י עָלֶ֖י/ךָ עַד עָבְרִֽ/י
And I wil take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my backe parts: but my face shall not be seene.

וַ/הֲסִרֹתִי֙ אֶת כַּפִּ֔/י וְ/רָאִ֖יתָ אֶת אֲחֹרָ֑/י וּ/פָנַ֖/י לֹ֥א יֵרָאֽוּ
