A Psalm of David.
LORD, I crie vnto thee, make haste vnto mee: giue eare vnto my voice, when I crie vnto thee.
GenevaA Psalme of David. O Lord, I call vpon thee: haste thee vnto me: heare my voyce, when I cry vnto thee.
מִזְמ֗וֹר לְ/דָ֫וִ֥ד יְהוָ֣ה קְ֭רָאתִי/ךָ ח֣וּשָׁ/ה לִּ֑/י הַאֲזִ֥ינָ/ה ק֝וֹלִ֗/י בְּ/קָרְאִ/י לָֽ/ךְ
Let my prayer bee set foorth before thee as incense: and the lifting vp of my hands as the Euening sacrifice.
GenevaLet my prayer be directed in thy sight as incense, and the lifting vp of mine hands as an euening sacrifice.
תִּכּ֤וֹן תְּפִלָּתִ֣/י קְטֹ֣רֶת לְ/פָנֶ֑י/ךָ מַֽשְׂאַ֥ת כַּ֝פַּ֗/י מִנְחַת עָֽרֶב
Set a watch (O LORD) before my mouth: keepe the doore of my lips.
GenevaSet a watch, O Lord, before my mouth, and keepe the doore of my lips.
שִׁיתָ֣/ה יְ֭הוָה שָׁמְרָ֣ה לְ/פִ֑/י נִ֝צְּרָ֗/ה עַל דַּ֥ל שְׂפָתָֽ/י
Incline not my heart to any euill thing, to practise wicked workes with men that worke iniquitie: and let mee not eate of their dainties.
GenevaIncline not mine heart to euill, that I should commit wicked workes with men that worke iniquitie: and let me not eate of their delicates.
אַל תַּט לִבִּ֨/י לְ/דָבָ֪ר רָ֡ע לְ/הִתְע֘וֹלֵ֤ל עֲלִל֨וֹת בְּ/רֶ֗שַׁע אֶת אִישִׁ֥ים פֹּֽעֲלֵי אָ֑וֶן וּ/בַל אֶ֝לְחַ֗ם בְּ/מַנְעַמֵּי/הֶֽם
Let the righteous smite mee, it shalbe a kindnesse: and let him reprooue me, it shalbe an excellent oile, which shall not breake my head: for yet my prayer also shalbe in their calamities.
GenevaLet the righteous smite me: for that is a benefite: and let him reprooue me, and it shalbe a precious oyle, that shall not breake mine head: for within a while I shall euen pray in their miseries.
יֶֽהֶלְמֵֽ/נִי צַדִּ֨יק חֶ֡סֶד וְֽ/יוֹכִיחֵ֗/נִי שֶׁ֣מֶן רֹ֭אשׁ אַל יָנִ֣י רֹאשִׁ֑/י כִּי ע֥וֹד וּ֝/תְפִלָּתִ֗/י בְּ/רָעוֹתֵי/הֶֽם
When their Iudges are ouerthrowen in stonie places, they shall heare my words, for they are sweet.
GenevaWhen their iudges shall be cast downe in stonie places, they shall heare my wordes, for they are sweete.
נִשְׁמְט֣וּ בִֽ/ידֵי סֶ֭לַע שֹׁפְטֵי/הֶ֑ם וְ/שָׁמְע֥וּ אֲ֝מָרַ֗/י כִּ֣י נָעֵֽמוּ
Our bones are scattered at the graues mouth: as when one cutteth and cleaueth wood vpon the earth.
GenevaOur bones lye scattered at the graues mouth, as he that heweth wood or diggeth in the earth.
כְּמ֤וֹ פֹלֵ֣חַ וּ/בֹקֵ֣עַ בָּ/אָ֑רֶץ נִפְזְר֥וּ עֲ֝צָמֵ֗י/נוּ לְ/פִ֣י שְׁאֽוֹל
But mine eyes are vnto thee, O GOD the Lord: in thee is my trust, leaue not my soule destitute.
GenevaBut mine eyes looke vnto thee, O Lord God: in thee is my trust: leaue not my soule destitute.
כִּ֤י אֵלֶ֨י/ךָ יְהֹוִ֣ה אֲדֹנָ֣/י עֵינָ֑/י בְּ/כָ֥ה חָ֝סִ֗יתִי אַל תְּעַ֥ר נַפְשִֽׁ/י
Keepe mee from the snare which they haue laide for me, and the grinnes of the workers of iniquitie.
GenevaKeepe me from the snare, which they haue layde for me, and from the grennes of the workers of iniquitie.
שָׁמְרֵ֗/נִי מִ֣/ידֵי פַ֭ח יָ֣קְשׁוּ לִ֑/י וּ֝/מֹקְשׁ֗וֹת פֹּ֣עֲלֵי אָֽוֶן
Let the wicked fall into their owne nets: whilest that I withal escape.
GenevaLet the wicked fall into his nettes together, whiles I escape.
יִפְּל֣וּ בְ/מַכְמֹרָ֣י/ו רְשָׁעִ֑ים יַ֥חַד אָ֝נֹכִ֗י עַֽד אֶעֱבֽוֹר
