Psalms 129
A Song of degrees.
Many a time haue they afflicted me from my youth: may Israel now say.

שִׁ֗יר הַֽ/מַּ֫עֲל֥וֹת רַ֭בַּת צְרָר֣וּ/נִי מִ/נְּעוּרַ֑/י יֹֽאמַר נָ֝א יִשְׂרָאֵֽל
Many a time haue they afflicted me from my youth: yet they haue not preuailed against mee.
GenevaThey haue often times afflicted me from my youth: but they could not preuaile against me.
רַ֭בַּת צְרָר֣וּ/נִי מִ/נְּעוּרָ֑/י גַּ֝ם לֹא יָ֥כְלוּ לִֽ/י
The plowers plowed vpon my backe: they made long their furrowes.
GenevaThe plowers plowed vpon my backe, and made long furrowes.
עַל גַּ֭בִּ/י חָרְשׁ֣וּ חֹרְשִׁ֑ים הֶ֝אֱרִ֗יכוּ ל/מענות/ם
The LORD is righteous: hee hath cut asunder the cordes of the wicked.
GenevaBut the righteous Lord hath cut the cordes of the wicked.
יְהוָ֥ה צַדִּ֑יק קִ֝צֵּ֗ץ עֲב֣וֹת רְשָׁעִֽים
Let them all be confounded and turned backe, that hate Zion.
GenevaThey that hate Zion, shalbe all ashamed and turned backward.
יֵ֭בֹשׁוּ וְ/יִסֹּ֣גוּ אָח֑וֹר כֹּ֝֗ל שֹׂנְאֵ֥י צִיּֽוֹן
Let them bee as the grasse vpon the house tops: which withereth afore it groweth vp:
GenevaThey shalbe as the grasse on the house tops, which withereth afore it commeth forth.
יִ֭הְיוּ כַּ/חֲצִ֣יר גַּגּ֑וֹת שֶׁ/קַּדְמַ֖ת שָׁלַ֣ף יָבֵֽשׁ
Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand: nor hee that bindeth sheaues, his bosome.
GenevaWhereof the mower filleth not his hand, neither the glainer his lap:
שֶׁ/לֹּ֤א מִלֵּ֖א כַפּ֥/וֹ קוֹצֵ֗ר וְ/חִצְנ֥/וֹ מְעַמֵּֽר
Neither doe they which goe by, say, The blessing of the LORD be vpon you: wee blesse you in the Name of the LORD.
GenevaNeither they, which go by, say, The blessing of the Lord be vpon you, or, We blesse you in the Name of the Lord.
וְ/לֹ֤א אָֽמְר֨וּ הָ/עֹבְרִ֗ים בִּרְכַּֽת יְהוָ֥ה אֲלֵי/כֶ֑ם בֵּרַ֥כְנוּ אֶ֝תְ/כֶ֗ם בְּ/שֵׁ֣ם יְהוָֽה
