Moreouer the LORD answered Iob, and said,
Geneva 1599Againe the Lord answered Iob out of the whirle winde, and said,
וַ/יַּ֖עַן יְהוָ֥ה אֶת אִיּ֗וֹב וַ/יֹּאמַֽר
Shall hee that contendeth with the Almightie, instruct him? he that reproueth God, let him answere it.
Geneva 1599Girde vp now thy loynes like a man: I will demaunde of thee, and declare thou vnto me.
הֲ֭/רֹב עִם שַׁדַּ֣י יִסּ֑וֹר מוֹכִ֖יחַ אֱל֣וֹהַּ יַעֲנֶֽ/נָּה
¶ Then Iob answered the LORD, and said,
Geneva 1599Wilt thou disanul my iudgement? or wilt thou condemne me, that thou mayst be iustified?
וַ/יַּ֖עַן אִיּ֥וֹב אֶת יְהוָ֗ה וַ/יֹּאמַֽר
Behold, I am vile, what shall I answere thee? I wil lay my hand vpon my mouth.
Geneva 1599Or hast thou an arme like God? or doest thou thunder with a voyce like him?
הֵ֣ן קַ֭לֹּתִי מָ֣ה אֲשִׁיבֶ֑/ךָּ יָ֝דִ֗/י שַׂ֣מְתִּי לְמוֹ פִֽ/י
Once haue I spoken, but I will not answere: yea twise, but I will proceed no further.
Geneva 1599Decke thy selfe now with maiestie and excellencie, and aray thy selfe with beautie and glory.
אַחַ֣ת דִּ֭בַּרְתִּי וְ/לֹ֣א אֶֽעֱנֶ֑ה וּ֝/שְׁתַּ֗יִם וְ/לֹ֣א אוֹסִֽיף
¶ Then answered the LORD vnto Iob out of the whirlewinde, and said:
Geneva 1599Cast abroad the indignation of thy wrath, and beholde euery one that is proude, and abase him.
וַ/יַּֽעַן יְהוָ֣ה אֶת אִ֭יּוֹב מנ סערה וַ/יֹּאמַֽר
Gird vp thy loynes now like a man: I will demaund of thee, and declare thou vnto me.
Geneva 1599Looke on euery one that is arrogant, and bring him lowe: and destroy the wicked in their place.
אֱזָר נָ֣א כְ/גֶ֣בֶר חֲלָצֶ֑י/ךָ אֶ֝שְׁאָלְ/ךָ֗ וְ/הוֹדִיעֵֽ/נִי
Wilt thou also disanul my iudgement? Wilt thou condemne mee, that thou mayest be righteous?

הַ֭/אַף תָּפֵ֣ר מִשְׁפָּטִ֑/י תַּ֝רְשִׁיעֵ֗/נִי לְמַ֣עַן תִּצְדָּֽק
Hast thou an arme like God? or canst thou thunder with a voyce like him?
Geneva 1599Then will I confesse vnto thee also, that thy right hand can saue thee.
וְ/אִם זְר֖וֹעַ כָּ/אֵ֥ל לָ֑/ךְ וּ֝/בְ/ק֗וֹל כָּמֹ֥/הוּ תַרְעֵֽם
Decke thy selfe now with Maiestie, and excellencie, and aray thy selfe with glory, and beautie.
Geneva 1599Behold now Behemoth (whom I made with thee) which eateth grasse as an oxe.
עֲדֵ֥ה נָ֣א גָֽא֣וֹן וָ/גֹ֑בַהּ וְ/ה֖וֹד וְ/הָדָ֣ר תִּלְבָּֽשׁ
Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold euery one that is proud, and abase him.
Geneva 1599Behold now, his strength is in his loynes, and his force is in the nauil of his belly.
הָ֭פֵץ עֶבְר֣וֹת אַפֶּ֑/ךָ וּ/רְאֵ֥ה כָל גֵּ֝אֶ֗ה וְ/הַשְׁפִּילֵֽ/הוּ
Looke on euery one that is proud, and bring him low: and tread downe the wicked in their place.
Geneva 1599When hee taketh pleasure, his taile is like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapt together.
רְאֵ֣ה כָל גֵּ֭אֶה הַכְנִיעֵ֑/הוּ וַ/הֲדֹ֖ךְ רְשָׁעִ֣ים תַּחְתָּֽ/ם

Geneva 1599His bones are like staues of brasse, and his small bones like staues of yron.
טָמְנֵ֣/ם בֶּ/עָפָ֣ר יָ֑חַד פְּ֝נֵי/הֶ֗ם חֲבֹ֣שׁ בַּ/טָּמֽוּן
Then will I also confesse vnto thee, that thine owne right hand can saue thee.
Geneva 1599He is the chiefe of the wayes of God: he that made him, will make his sworde to approch vnto him.
וְ/גַם אֲנִ֥י אוֹדֶ֑/ךָּ כִּֽי תוֹשִׁ֖עַ לְ/ךָ֣ יְמִינֶֽ/ךָ

הִנֵּה נָ֣א כֹח֣/וֹ בְ/מָתְנָ֑י/ו וְ֝/אֹנ֗/וֹ בִּ/שְׁרִירֵ֥י בִטְנֽ/וֹ
Hee moueth his taile like a Cedar: the sinewes of his stones are wrapt together.
Geneva 1599Can the trees couer him with their shadow? or can the willowes of the riuer compasse him about?
יַחְפֹּ֣ץ זְנָב֣/וֹ כְמוֹ אָ֑רֶז גִּידֵ֖י פחד/ו יְשֹׂרָֽגוּ

Geneva 1599Behold, he spoyleth the riuer, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw vp Iorden into his mouth.
עֲ֭צָמָי/ו אֲפִיקֵ֣י נְחוּשָׁ֑ה גְּ֝רָמָ֗י/ו כִּ/מְטִ֥יל בַּרְזֶֽל

יְסֻכֻּ֣/הוּ צֶאֱלִ֣ים צִֽלֲל֑/וֹ יְ֝סֻבּ֗וּ/הוּ עַרְבֵי נָֽחַל
Behold, he drinketh vp a riuer, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw vp Iordan into his mouth.
Geneva 1599Will hee make a couenant with thee? and wilt thou take him as a seruant for euer?
הֵ֤ן יַעֲשֹׁ֣ק נָ֭הָר לֹ֣א יַחְפּ֑וֹז יִבְטַ֓ח כִּֽי יָגִ֖יחַ יַרְדֵּ֣ן אֶל פִּֽי/הוּ
He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pearceth through snares.
Geneva 1599Wilt thou play with him as with a bird? or wilt thou bynd him for thy maydes?
