Chapter 35
Isaiah 35
The wildernesse and the solitarie place shall be glad for them: and the desert shall reioyce and blossome as the rose.
GenevaThe desert and the wildernes shall reioyce: and the waste ground shalbe glad and florish as the rose.
יְשֻׂשׂ֥וּ/ם מִדְבָּ֖ר וְ/צִיָּ֑ה וְ/תָגֵ֧ל עֲרָבָ֛ה וְ/תִפְרַ֖ח כַּ/חֲבַצָּֽלֶת
It shall blossome abundantly, and reioyce euen with ioy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shal be giuen vnto it, the excellencie of Carmel and Sharon: they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellencie of our God.
GenevaIt shall florish abundantly and shall greatly reioyce also and ioye: the glory of Lebanon shalbe giuen vnto it: the beautie of Carmel, and of Sharon, they shall see the glory of the Lord, and the excellencie of our God.
פָּרֹ֨חַ תִּפְרַ֜ח וְ/תָגֵ֗ל אַ֚ף גִּילַ֣ת וְ/רַנֵּ֔ן כְּב֤וֹד הַ/לְּבָנוֹן֙ נִתַּן לָ֔/הּ הֲדַ֥ר הַ/כַּרְמֶ֖ל וְ/הַ/שָּׁר֑וֹן הֵ֛מָּה יִרְא֥וּ כְבוֹד יְהוָ֖ה הֲדַ֥ר אֱלֹהֵֽי/נוּ
¶ Strengthen yee the weake hands, and confirme the feeble knees.
GenevaStrengthen the weake handes, and comfort the feeble knees.
חַזְּק֖וּ יָדַ֣יִם רָפ֑וֹת וּ/בִרְכַּ֥יִם כֹּשְׁל֖וֹת אַמֵּֽצוּ
Say to them that are of a fearefull heart; Be strong, feare not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, euen God with a recompence, he will come and saue you.
GenevaSay vnto them that are fearefull, Bee you strong, feare not: beholde, your God commeth with vengeance: euen God with a recompense, he will come and saue you.
אִמְרוּ֙ לְ/נִמְהֲרֵי לֵ֔ב חִזְק֖וּ אַל תִּירָ֑אוּ הִנֵּ֤ה אֱלֹֽהֵי/כֶם֙ נָקָ֣ם יָב֔וֹא גְּמ֣וּל אֱלֹהִ֔ים ה֥וּא יָב֖וֹא וְ/יֹשַׁעֲ/כֶֽם
Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the eares of the deafe shalbe vnstopped.
GenevaThen shall the eyes of the blinde be lightened, and the eares of the deafe be opened.
אָ֥ז תִּפָּקַ֖חְנָה עֵינֵ֣י עִוְרִ֑ים וְ/אָזְנֵ֥י חֵרְשִׁ֖ים תִּפָּתַֽחְנָה
Then shall the lame man leape as an Hart, and the tongue of the dumbe sing: for in the wildernesse shall waters breake out, and streames in the desert.
GenevaThen shall ye lame man leape as an hart, and the dumme mans tongue shall sing: for in the wildernes shall waters breake out, and riuers in ye desert.
אָ֣ז יְדַלֵּ֤ג כָּֽ/אַיָּל֙ פִּסֵּ֔חַ וְ/תָרֹ֖ן לְשׁ֣וֹן אִלֵּ֑ם כִּֽי נִבְקְע֤וּ בַ/מִּדְבָּר֙ מַ֔יִם וּ/נְחָלִ֖ים בָּ/עֲרָבָֽה
And the parched ground shall become a poole, and the thirstie land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shalbe grasse with reeds and rushes.
GenevaAnd the dry ground shalbe as a poole, and the thirstie (as springs of water in the habitation of dragons: where they lay) shall be a place for reedes and rushes.
וְ/הָיָ֤ה הַ/שָּׁרָב֙ לַ/אֲגַ֔ם וְ/צִמָּא֖וֹן לְ/מַבּ֣וּעֵי מָ֑יִם בִּ/נְוֵ֤ה תַנִּים֙ רִבְצָ֔/הּ חָצִ֖יר לְ/קָנֶ֥ה וָ/גֹֽמֶא
And an high way shalbe there, and away, and it shall be called the way of holinesse, the vncleane shall not passe ouer it, but it shall be for those: the wayfaringmen, though fooles, shall not erre therein.
GenevaAnd there shalbe a path and a way, and the way shalbe called holy: the polluted shall not passe by it: for he shalbe with them, and walke in the way, and the fooles shall not erre.
וְ/הָיָה שָׁ֞ם מַסְל֣וּל וָ/דֶ֗רֶךְ וְ/דֶ֤רֶךְ הַ/קֹּ֨דֶשׁ֙ יִקָּ֣רֵא לָ֔/הּ לֹֽא יַעַבְרֶ֥/נּוּ טָמֵ֖א וְ/הוּא לָ֑/מוֹ הֹלֵ֥ךְ דֶּ֛רֶךְ וֶ/אֱוִילִ֖ים לֹ֥א יִתְעֽוּ
No lyon shalbe there; nor any rauenous beast shall goe vp thereon, it shall not be found there: but the redeemed shall walke there.
GenevaThere shall be no lyon, nor noysome beastes shall ascend by it, neither shall they be found there, that the redeemed may walke.
לֹא יִהְיֶ֨ה שָׁ֜ם אַרְיֵ֗ה וּ/פְרִ֤יץ חַיּוֹת֙ בַּֽל יַעֲלֶ֔/נָּה לֹ֥א תִמָּצֵ֖א שָׁ֑ם וְ/הָלְכ֖וּ גְּאוּלִֽים
And the ransomed of the LORD shall returne and come to Zion with songs, and euerlasting ioy vpon their heads: they shall obtaine ioy and gladnesse, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
GenevaTherefore the redeemed of the Lord shall returne and come to Zion with prayse: and euerlasting ioy shall bee vpon their heads: they shall obteine ioye and gladnesse, and sorow and mourning shall flee away.
וּ/פְדוּיֵ֨י יְהוָ֜ה יְשֻׁב֗וּ/ן וּ/בָ֤אוּ צִיּוֹן֙ בְּ/רִנָּ֔ה וְ/שִׂמְחַ֥ת עוֹלָ֖ם עַל רֹאשָׁ֑/ם שָׂשׂ֤וֹן וְ/שִׂמְחָה֙ יַשִּׂ֔יגוּ וְ/נָ֖סוּ יָג֥וֹן וַ/אֲנָחָֽה
