Isaiah 11

And there shall come forth a rod out of the stemme of Iesse, and a branch shal grow out of his rootes.

GenevaBut there shall come a rodde foorth of the stocke of Ishai, and a grasse shall growe out of his rootes.

וְ/יָצָ֥א חֹ֖טֶר מִ/גֵּ֣זַע יִשָׁ֑י וְ/נֵ֖צֶר מִ/שָּׁרָשָׁ֥י/ו יִפְרֶֽה

And the Spirit of the LORD shall rest vpon him, the spirit of wisedome and vnderstanding, the spirit of counsell and might, the spirit of knowledge, and of the feare of the LORD:

GenevaAnd the Spirite of the Lord shall rest vpon him: the Spirite of wisedome and vnderstanding, the Spirite of counsell and strength, the Spirite of knowledge, and of the feare of the Lord,

וְ/נָחָ֥ה עָלָ֖י/ו ר֣וּחַ יְהוָ֑ה ר֧וּחַ חָכְמָ֣ה וּ/בִינָ֗ה ר֤וּחַ עֵצָה֙ וּ/גְבוּרָ֔ה ר֥וּחַ דַּ֖עַת וְ/יִרְאַ֥ת יְהוָֽה

And shal make him of quicke vnderstanding in the feare of the LORD, and he shall not iudge after the sight of his eyes, neither reproue after the hearing of his eares.

GenevaAnd shall make him prudent in the feare of the Lord: for he shall not iudge after the sight of his eies, neither reproue by ye hearing of his eares.

וַ/הֲרִיח֖/וֹ בְּ/יִרְאַ֣ת יְהוָ֑ה וְ/לֹֽא לְ/מַרְאֵ֤ה עֵינָי/ו֙ יִשְׁפּ֔וֹט וְ/לֹֽא לְ/מִשְׁמַ֥ע אָזְנָ֖י/ו יוֹכִֽיחַ

But with righteousnesse shall he iudge the poore, and reprooue with equitie, for the meeke of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rodde of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.

וְ/שָׁפַ֤ט בְּ/צֶ֨דֶק֙ דַּלִּ֔ים וְ/הוֹכִ֥יחַ בְּ/מִישׁ֖וֹר לְ/עַנְוֵי אָ֑רֶץ וְ/הִֽכָּה אֶ֨רֶץ֙ בְּ/שֵׁ֣בֶט פִּ֔י/ו וּ/בְ/ר֥וּחַ שְׂפָתָ֖י/ו יָמִ֥ית רָשָֽׁע

And righteousnesse shalbe the girdle of his loines, and faithfulnesse the girdle of his reines.

GenevaAnd iustice shall be ye girdle of his loynes, and faithfulnesse the girdle of his reines.

וְ/הָ֥יָה צֶ֖דֶק אֵז֣וֹר מָתְנָ֑י/ו וְ/הָ/אֱמוּנָ֖ה אֵז֥וֹר חֲלָצָֽי/ו

The wolfe also shall dwell with the lambe, and the leopard shall lie downe with the kid: and the calfe and the yong lion, and the fatling together, and a litle child shall lead them.

GenevaThe wolfe also shall dwell with the lambe, and the leopard shall lie with the kid, and the calfe, and the lyon, and the fat beast together, and a litle childe shall leade them.

וְ/גָ֤ר זְאֵב֙ עִם כֶּ֔בֶשׂ וְ/נָמֵ֖ר עִם גְּדִ֣י יִרְבָּ֑ץ וְ/עֵ֨גֶל וּ/כְפִ֤יר וּ/מְרִיא֙ יַחְדָּ֔ו וְ/נַ֥עַר קָטֹ֖ן נֹהֵ֥ג בָּֽ/ם

And the cow and the beare shall feed, their yong ones shall lie downe together: and the lyon shall eate straw like the oxe.

GenevaAnd the kow and the beare shall feede: their yong ones shall lie together: and the lyon shall eate strawe like the bullocke.

וּ/פָרָ֤ה וָ/דֹב֙ תִּרְעֶ֔ינָה יַחְדָּ֖ו יִרְבְּצ֣וּ יַלְדֵי/הֶ֑ן וְ/אַרְיֵ֖ה כַּ/בָּקָ֥ר יֹֽאכַל תֶּֽבֶן

And the sucking childe shall play on the hole of the aspe, and the weaned childe shall put his hand on the cockatrice denne.

GenevaAnd the sucking childe shall play vpon the hole of the aspe, and the wained childe shall put his hand vpon the cockatrice hole.

וְ/שִֽׁעֲשַׁ֥ע יוֹנֵ֖ק עַל חֻ֣ר פָּ֑תֶן וְ/עַל֙ מְאוּרַ֣ת צִפְעוֹנִ֔י גָּמ֖וּל יָד֥/וֹ הָדָֽה

They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountaine: for the earth shall bee full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters couer the sea.

GenevaThen shall none hurt nor destroy in all the mountaine of mine holines: for the earth shalbe full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters that couer the sea.

לֹֽא יָרֵ֥עוּ וְ/לֹֽא יַשְׁחִ֖יתוּ בְּ/כָל הַ֣ר קָדְשִׁ֑/י כִּֽי מָלְאָ֣ה הָ/אָ֗רֶץ דֵּעָה֙ אֶת יְהוָ֔ה כַּ/מַּ֖יִם לַ/יָּ֥ם מְכַסִּֽים

¶ And in that day there shall bee a roote of Iesse, which shall stand for an ensigne of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seeke, and his rest shall bee glorious.

GenevaAnd in that day the roote of Ishai, which shall stand vp for a signe vnto the people, the nations shall seeke vnto it, and his rest shall be glorious.

וְ/הָיָה֙ בַּ/יּ֣וֹם הַ/ה֔וּא שֹׁ֣רֶשׁ יִשַׁ֗י אֲשֶׁ֤ר עֹמֵד֙ לְ/נֵ֣ס עַמִּ֔ים אֵלָ֖י/ו גּוֹיִ֣ם יִדְרֹ֑שׁוּ וְ/הָיְתָ֥ה מְנֻחָת֖/וֹ כָּבֽוֹד

And it shall come to passe in that day, that the Lord shall set his hande againe the second time, to recouer the remnant of his people which shalbe left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, & from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the ylands of the Sea.

GenevaAnd in the same day shall the Lord stretche out his hand againe the second time, to possesse the remnant of his people, (which shalbe left) of Asshur, and of Egypt, and of Pathros, and of Ethiopia, and of Elam, and of Shinear, and of Hamath, and of the yles of the sea.

וְ/הָיָ֣ה בַּ/יּ֣וֹם הַ/ה֗וּא יוֹסִ֨יף אֲדֹנָ֤/י שֵׁנִית֙ יָד֔/וֹ לִ/קְנ֖וֹת אֶת שְׁאָ֣ר עַמּ֑/וֹ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יִשָּׁאֵר֩ מֵ/אַשּׁ֨וּר וּ/מִ/מִּצְרַ֜יִם וּ/מִ/פַּתְר֣וֹס וּ/מִ/כּ֗וּשׁ וּ/מֵ/עֵילָ֤ם וּ/מִ/שִּׁנְעָר֙ וּ/מֵ֣/חֲמָ֔ת וּ/מֵ/אִיֵּ֖י הַ/יָּֽם

And he shall set vp an ensigne for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Iudah, from the foure corners of the earth.

GenevaAnd he shall set vp a signe to the nations, and assemble the dispersed of Israel, and gather the scattered of Iudah from the foure corners of the worlde.

וְ/נָשָׂ֥א נֵס֙ לַ/גּוֹיִ֔ם וְ/אָסַ֖ף נִדְחֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וּ/נְפֻצ֤וֹת יְהוּדָה֙ יְקַבֵּ֔ץ מֵ/אַרְבַּ֖ע כַּנְפ֥וֹת הָ/אָֽרֶץ

The enuie also of Ephraim shal depart, and the aduersaries of Iudah shalbe cut off: Ephraim shall not enuie Iudah, and Iudah shall not vexe Ephraim.

GenevaThe hatred also of Ephraim shall depart, and the aduersaries of Iudah shalbe cut off: Ephraim shall not enuie Iudah, neither shall Iudah vexe Ephraim:

וְ/סָ֨רָה֙ קִנְאַ֣ת אֶפְרַ֔יִם וְ/צֹרְרֵ֥י יְהוּדָ֖ה יִכָּרֵ֑תוּ אֶפְרַ֨יִם֙ לֹֽא יְקַנֵּ֣א אֶת יְהוּדָ֔ה וִֽ/יהוּדָ֖ה לֹֽא יָצֹ֥ר אֶת אֶפְרָֽיִם

But they shall fly vpon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the West, they shall spoile them of the East together: they shall lay their hand vpon Edom and Moab, and the children of Ammon shall obey them.

GenevaBut they shall flee vpon the shoulders of the Philistims toward the West: they shall spoyle them of the East together: Edom and Moab shall be the stretching out of their hands, and the children of Ammon in their obedience.

וְ/עָפ֨וּ בְ/כָתֵ֤ף פְּלִשְׁתִּים֙ יָ֔מָּ/ה יַחְדָּ֖ו יָבֹ֣זּוּ אֶת בְּנֵי קֶ֑דֶם אֱד֤וֹם וּ/מוֹאָב֙ מִשְׁל֣וֹח יָדָ֔/ם וּ/בְנֵ֥י עַמּ֖וֹן מִשְׁמַעְתָּֽ/ם

And the LORD shall vtterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea, and with his mighty wind shall hee shake his hand ouer the riuer, and shall smite it in the seuen streames, and make men goe ouer dry-shod.

GenevaThe Lord also shall vtterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptians sea, and with his mightie winde shall lift vp his hand ouer the riuer, and shall smite him in his seuen streames, and cause men to walke therein with shooes.

וְ/הֶחֱרִ֣ים יְהוָ֗ה אֵ֚ת לְשׁ֣וֹן יָם מִצְרַ֔יִם וְ/הֵנִ֥יף יָד֛/וֹ עַל הַ/נָּהָ֖ר בַּ/עְיָ֣ם רוּח֑/וֹ וְ/הִכָּ֨/הוּ֙ לְ/שִׁבְעָ֣ה נְחָלִ֔ים וְ/הִדְרִ֖יךְ בַּ/נְּעָלִֽים

And there shalbe an high way for the remnant of his people, which shalbe left from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that hee came vp out of the land of Egypt.

GenevaAnd there shalbe a path to the remnant of his people, which are left of Asshur, like as it was vnto Israel in the day that he came vp out of the land of Egypt.

וְ/הָיְתָ֣ה מְסִלָּ֔ה לִ/שְׁאָ֣ר עַמּ֔/וֹ אֲשֶׁ֥ר יִשָּׁאֵ֖ר מֵֽ/אַשּׁ֑וּר כַּ/אֲשֶׁ֤ר הָֽיְתָה֙ לְ/יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל בְּ/י֥וֹם עֲלֹת֖/וֹ מֵ/אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם
