Genesis 30
And when Rachel saw that shee bare Iacob no children, Rachel enuied her sister, and said vnto Iacob, Giue mee children, or els I die.
GenevaAnd when Rahel saw that she bare Iaakob no children, Rahel enuied her sister, and said vnto Iaakob, Giue me children, or els I dye.
וַ/תֵּ֣רֶא רָחֵ֗ל כִּ֣י לֹ֤א יָֽלְדָה֙ לְ/יַעֲקֹ֔ב וַ/תְּקַנֵּ֥א רָחֵ֖ל בַּ/אֲחֹתָ֑/הּ וַ/תֹּ֤אמֶר אֶֽל יַעֲקֹב֙ הָֽבָ/ה לִּ֣/י בָנִ֔ים וְ/אִם אַ֖יִן מֵתָ֥ה אָנֹֽכִי
And Iacobs anger was kindled against Rachel, and he said, Am I in Gods stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the wombe?
GenevaThen Iaakobs anger was kindled against Rahel, and he sayde, Am I in Gods steade, which hath withholden from thee the fruite of the wombe?
וַ/יִּֽחַר אַ֥ף יַעֲקֹ֖ב בְּ/רָחֵ֑ל וַ/יֹּ֗אמֶר הֲ/תַ֤חַת אֱלֹהִים֙ אָנֹ֔כִי אֲשֶׁר מָנַ֥ע מִמֵּ֖/ךְ פְּרִי בָֽטֶן
And she said, Behold my mayde Bilhah: goe in vnto her, and she shall beare vpon my knees, that I may also have children by her.
GenevaAnd she said, Behold my maide Bilhah, goe in to her, and she shall beare vpon my knees, and I shall haue children also by her.
וַ/תֹּ֕אמֶר הִנֵּ֛ה אֲמָתִ֥/י בִלְהָ֖ה בֹּ֣א אֵלֶ֑י/הָ וְ/תֵלֵד֙ עַל בִּרְכַּ֔/י וְ/אִבָּנֶ֥ה גַם אָנֹכִ֖י מִמֶּֽ/נָּה
And shee gaue him Bilhah her handmayd to wife: and Iacob went in vnto her.
GenevaThen shee gaue him Bilhah her mayde to wife, and Iaakob went in to her.
וַ/תִּתֶּן ל֛/וֹ אֶת בִּלְהָ֥ה שִׁפְחָתָ֖/הּ לְ/אִשָּׁ֑ה וַ/יָּבֹ֥א אֵלֶ֖י/הָ יַעֲקֹֽב
And Bilhah conceiued and bare Iacob a sonne.
GenevaSo Bilhah conceiued and bare Iaakob a sonne.
וַ/תַּ֣הַר בִּלְהָ֔ה וַ/תֵּ֥לֶד לְ/יַעֲקֹ֖ב בֵּֽן
And Rachel said, God hath iudged me, and hath also heard my voyce, and hath giuen me a sonne; therefore called she his name Dan.
GenevaThen said Rahel, God hath giuen sentence on my side, and hath also heard my voyce, and hath giuen mee a sonne: therefore called shee his name, Dan.
וַ/תֹּ֤אמֶר רָחֵל֙ דָּנַ֣/נִּי אֱלֹהִ֔ים וְ/גַם֙ שָׁמַ֣ע בְּ/קֹלִ֔/י וַ/יִּתֶּן לִ֖/י בֵּ֑ן עַל כֵּ֛ן קָרְאָ֥ה שְׁמ֖/וֹ דָּֽן
And Bilhah Rachels mayd conceiued againe, and bare Iacob a second sonne.
GenevaAnd Bilhah Rahels maide coceiued againe, and bare Iaakob the second sonne.
וַ/תַּ֣הַר ע֔וֹד וַ/תֵּ֕לֶד בִּלְהָ֖ה שִׁפְחַ֣ת רָחֵ֑ל בֵּ֥ן שֵׁנִ֖י לְ/יַעֲקֹֽב
And Rachel saide, With great wrastlings haue I wrastled with my sister, and I haue preuailed: and she called his name Naphtali.
GenevaThen Rahel said, with excellent wrestlings haue I wrestled with my sister, and haue gotten the vpper hande: and shee called his name, Naphtali.
וַ/תֹּ֣אמֶר רָחֵ֗ל נַפְתּוּלֵ֨י אֱלֹהִ֧ים נִפְתַּ֛לְתִּי עִם אֲחֹתִ֖/י גַּם יָכֹ֑לְתִּי וַ/תִּקְרָ֥א שְׁמ֖/וֹ נַפְתָּלִֽי
When Leah saw that she had left bearing, shee tooke Zilpah her mayde, and gaue her Iacob to wife.

וַ/תֵּ֣רֶא לֵאָ֔ה כִּ֥י עָמְדָ֖ה מִ/לֶּ֑דֶת וַ/תִּקַּח֙ אֶת זִלְפָּ֣ה שִׁפְחָתָ֔/הּ וַ/תִּתֵּ֥ן אֹתָ֛/הּ לְ/יַעֲקֹ֖ב לְ/אִשָּֽׁה
And Zilpah Leahs mayde bare Iacob a sonne.
GenevaAnd Zilpah Leahs mayde bare Iaakob a sonne.
וַ/תֵּ֗לֶד זִלְפָּ֛ה שִׁפְחַ֥ת לֵאָ֖ה לְ/יַעֲקֹ֥ב בֵּֽן
And Leah said, A troupe commeth: and she called his name Gad.
GenevaThen sayd Leah, A companie commeth: and she called his name, Gad.
וַ/תֹּ֥אמֶר לֵאָ֖ה ב/גד וַ/תִּקְרָ֥א אֶת שְׁמ֖/וֹ גָּֽד
And Zilpah Leahs mayde bare Iacob a second sonne.
GenevaAgaine Zilpah Leahs mayde bare Iaakob another sonne.
וַ/תֵּ֗לֶד זִלְפָּה֙ שִׁפְחַ֣ת לֵאָ֔ה בֵּ֥ן שֵׁנִ֖י לְ/יַעֲקֹֽב
And Leah said, Happy am I, for the daughters will call me blessed: and she called his name Asher.
GenevaThen sayde Leah, Ah, blessed am I, for the daughters will blesse me. and she called his name, Asher.
וַ/תֹּ֣אמֶר לֵאָ֔ה בְּ/אָשְׁרִ֕/י כִּ֥י אִשְּׁר֖וּ/נִי בָּנ֑וֹת וַ/תִּקְרָ֥א אֶת שְׁמ֖/וֹ אָשֵֽׁר
¶ And Reuben went in the dayes of wheat haruest, & found Mandrakes in the field, and brought them vnto his mother Leah. Then Rachel saide to Leah, Giue me, I pray thee, of thy sonnes Mandrakes.
GenevaNowe Reuben went in the dayes of the wheateharuest, and founde mandrakes in the fielde and brought them vnto his mother Leah. Then sayde Rahel to Leah, Giue me, I pray thee, of thy sonnes mandrakes.
וַ/יֵּ֨לֶךְ רְאוּבֵ֜ן בִּ/ימֵ֣י קְצִיר חִטִּ֗ים וַ/יִּמְצָ֤א דֽוּדָאִים֙ בַּ/שָּׂדֶ֔ה וַ/יָּבֵ֣א אֹתָ֔/ם אֶל לֵאָ֖ה אִמּ֑/וֹ וַ/תֹּ֤אמֶר רָחֵל֙ אֶל לֵאָ֔ה תְּנִי נָ֣א לִ֔/י מִ/דּוּדָאֵ֖י בְּנֵֽ/ךְ
And shee said vnto her, Is it a small matter, that thou hast taken my husband? and wouldst thou take away my sonnes Mandrakes also? and Rachel said, Therefore hee shall lye with thee to night, for thy sonnes Mandrakes.
GenevaBut shee answered her, Is it a small matter for thee to take mine husband, except thou take my sonnes mandrakes also? Then sayde Rahel, Therefore he shall sleepe with thee this night for thy sonnes mandrakes.
וַ/תֹּ֣אמֶר לָ֗/הּ הַ/מְעַט֙ קַחְתֵּ֣/ךְ אֶת אִישִׁ֔/י וְ/לָ/קַ֕חַת גַּ֥ם אֶת דּוּדָאֵ֖י בְּנִ֑/י וַ/תֹּ֣אמֶר רָחֵ֗ל לָ/כֵן֙ יִשְׁכַּ֤ב עִמָּ/ךְ֙ הַ/לַּ֔יְלָה תַּ֖חַת דּוּדָאֵ֥י בְנֵֽ/ךְ
And Iacob came out of the field in the euening, and Leah went out to meet him, and said, Thou must come in vnto mee: for surely I haue hired thee with my sonnes Mandrakes. And hee lay with her that night.
GenevaAnd Iaakob came from the fielde in the euening, and Leah went out to meete him, and sayde, Come in to mee, for I haue bought and payed for thee with my sonnes mandrakes: and he slept with her that night.
וַ/יָּבֹ֨א יַעֲקֹ֣ב מִן הַ/שָּׂדֶה֮ בָּ/עֶרֶב֒ וַ/תֵּצֵ֨א לֵאָ֜ה לִ/קְרָאת֗/וֹ וַ/תֹּ֨אמֶר֙ אֵלַ֣/י תָּב֔וֹא כִּ֚י שָׂכֹ֣ר שְׂכַרְתִּ֔י/ךָ בְּ/דוּדָאֵ֖י בְּנִ֑/י וַ/יִּשְׁכַּ֥ב עִמָּ֖/הּ בַּ/לַּ֥יְלָה הֽוּא
And God hearkened vnto Leah, and she conceiued, and bare Iacob the fift sonne.
GenevaAnd God heard Leah and shee conceiued, and bare vnto Iaakob the fift sonne.
וַ/יִּשְׁמַ֥ע אֱלֹהִ֖ים אֶל לֵאָ֑ה וַ/תַּ֛הַר וַ/תֵּ֥לֶד לְ/יַעֲקֹ֖ב בֵּ֥ן חֲמִישִֽׁי
And Leah said, God hath giuen mee my hire, because I haue giuen my mayden to my husband: and she called his name Issachar.
GenevaThen said Leah, God hath giuen me my reward, because I gaue my mayde to my husband, and she called his name Issachar.
וַ/תֹּ֣אמֶר לֵאָ֗ה נָתַ֤ן אֱלֹהִים֙ שְׂכָרִ֔/י אֲשֶׁר נָתַ֥תִּי שִׁפְחָתִ֖/י לְ/אִישִׁ֑/י וַ/תִּקְרָ֥א שְׁמ֖/וֹ יִשָּׂשכָֽר
And Leah conceiued againe, and bare Iacob the sixth sonne.
GenevaAfter, Leah conceiued againe, and bare Iaakob the sixt sonne.
וַ/תַּ֤הַר עוֹד֙ לֵאָ֔ה וַ/תֵּ֥לֶד בֵּן שִׁשִּׁ֖י לְּ/יַעֲקֹֽב
And Leah said, God hath endued me with a good dowry: Now will my husband dwel with me, because I haue borne him sixe sonnes: and shee called his name Zebulun.
GenevaThen Leah said, God hath endued me with a good dowrie: nowe will mine husband dwell with me, because I haue borne him sixe sonnes: and she called his name Zebulun.
וַ/תֹּ֣אמֶר לֵאָ֗ה זְבָדַ֨/נִי אֱלֹהִ֥ים אֹתִ/י֮ זֵ֣בֶד טוֹב֒ הַ/פַּ֨עַם֙ יִזְבְּלֵ֣/נִי אִישִׁ֔/י כִּֽי יָלַ֥דְתִּי ל֖/וֹ שִׁשָּׁ֣ה בָנִ֑ים וַ/תִּקְרָ֥א אֶת שְׁמ֖/וֹ זְבֻלֽוּן
And afterwardes shee bare a daughter, and called her name Dinah.
GenevaAfter that, shee bare a daughter, and shee called her name Dinah.
וְ/אַחַ֖ר יָ֣לְדָה בַּ֑ת וַ/תִּקְרָ֥א אֶת שְׁמָ֖/הּ דִּינָֽה
¶ And God remembred Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her wombe.
GenevaAnd God remembred Rahel, and God heard her, and opened her wombe.
וַ/יִּזְכֹּ֥ר אֱלֹהִ֖ים אֶת רָחֵ֑ל וַ/יִּשְׁמַ֤ע אֵלֶ֨י/הָ֙ אֱלֹהִ֔ים וַ/יִּפְתַּ֖ח אֶת רַחְמָֽ/הּ
And shee conceiued and bare a sonne, and said; God hath taken away my reproch:
GenevaSo she conceiued and bare a sonne, and said, God hath taken away my rebuke.
וַ/תַּ֖הַר וַ/תֵּ֣לֶד בֵּ֑ן וַ/תֹּ֕אמֶר אָסַ֥ף אֱלֹהִ֖ים אֶת חֶרְפָּתִֽ/י
And shee called his name Ioseph, and saide, The LORD shall adde to me another sonne.
GenevaAnd shee called his name Ioseph, saying, The Lord wil giue me yet another sonne.
וַ/תִּקְרָ֧א אֶת שְׁמ֛/וֹ יוֹסֵ֖ף לֵ/אמֹ֑ר יֹסֵ֧ף יְהוָ֛ה לִ֖/י בֵּ֥ן אַחֵֽר
¶ And it came to passe when Rachel had borne Ioseph, that Iacob said vnto Laban, Send me away, that I may goe vnto mine owne place, and to my countrey.
GenevaAnd assoone as Rahel had borne Ioseph, Iaakob said to Laban, Sende me away that I may go vnto my place and to my countrey.
וַ/יְהִ֕י כַּ/אֲשֶׁ֛ר יָלְדָ֥ה רָחֵ֖ל אֶת יוֹסֵ֑ף וַ/יֹּ֤אמֶר יַעֲקֹב֙ אֶל לָבָ֔ן שַׁלְּחֵ֨/נִי֙ וְ/אֵ֣לְכָ֔ה אֶל מְקוֹמִ֖/י וּ/לְ/אַרְצִֽ/י
Giue mee my wiues and my children, for whom I haue serued thee, and let me goe: for thou knowest my seruice which I haue done thee.

תְּנָ֞/ה אֶת נָשַׁ֣/י וְ/אֶת יְלָדַ֗/י אֲשֶׁ֨ר עָבַ֧דְתִּי אֹֽתְ/ךָ֛ בָּ/הֵ֖ן וְ/אֵלֵ֑כָה כִּ֚י אַתָּ֣ה יָדַ֔עְתָּ אֶת עֲבֹדָתִ֖/י אֲשֶׁ֥ר עֲבַדְתִּֽי/ךָ
And Laban said vnto him, I pray thee, if I haue found fauour in thine eyes, tary: for I haue learned by experience, that the LORD hath blessed me for thy sake.
GenevaTo whom Laban answered, If I haue nowe found fauour in thy sight tarie: I haue perceiued that the Lord hath blessed me for thy sake.
וַ/יֹּ֤אמֶר אֵלָי/ו֙ לָבָ֔ן אִם נָ֛א מָצָ֥אתִי חֵ֖ן בְּ/עֵינֶ֑י/ךָ נִחַ֕שְׁתִּי וַ/יְבָרֲכֵ֥/נִי יְהוָ֖ה בִּ/גְלָלֶֽ/ךָ
And he said, Appoint me thy wages, and I will giue it.
GenevaAlso he said, Appoynt vnto me thy wages, and I will giue it thee.
וַ/יֹּאמַ֑ר נָקְבָ֧/ה שְׂכָרְ/ךָ֛ עָלַ֖/י וְ/אֶתֵּֽנָה
And hee said vnto him, Thou knowest how I haue serued thee, and how thy cattell was with me.
GenevaBut he sayd vnto him, Thou knowest, what seruice I haue done thee, and in what taking thy cattell hath bene vnder me.
וַ/יֹּ֣אמֶר אֵלָ֔י/ו אַתָּ֣ה יָדַ֔עְתָּ אֵ֖ת אֲשֶׁ֣ר עֲבַדְתִּ֑י/ךָ וְ/אֵ֛ת אֲשֶׁר הָיָ֥ה מִקְנְ/ךָ֖ אִתִּֽ/י
For it was little which thou hadst before I came; and it is now increased vnto a multitude; and the LORD hath blessed thee since my comming: and now when shall I prouide for mine owne house also?
GenevaFor the litle, that thou haddest before I came, is increased into a multitude: and the Lord hath blessed thee by my comming: but nowe when shall I trauell for mine owne house also?
כִּ֡י מְעַט֩ אֲשֶׁר הָיָ֨ה לְ/ךָ֤ לְ/פָנַ/י֙ וַ/יִּפְרֹ֣ץ לָ/רֹ֔ב וַ/יְבָ֧רֶךְ יְהוָ֛ה אֹתְ/ךָ֖ לְ/רַגְלִ֑/י וְ/עַתָּ֗ה מָתַ֛י אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֥ה גַם אָנֹכִ֖י לְ/בֵיתִֽ/י
And hee said, what shall I giue thee? and Iacob said, Thou shalt not giue me any thing; if thou wilt doe this thing for mee, I will againe feed and keepe thy flocke.
GenevaThen he saide, What shall I giue thee? And Iaakob answered, Thou shalt giue mee nothing at all: if thou wilt doe this thing for mee, I will returne, feede, and keepe thy sheepe.
וַ/יֹּ֖אמֶר מָ֣ה אֶתֶּן לָ֑/ךְ וַ/יֹּ֤אמֶר יַעֲקֹב֙ לֹא תִתֶּן לִ֣/י מְא֔וּמָה אִם תַּֽעֲשֶׂה לִּ/י֙ הַ/דָּבָ֣ר הַ/זֶּ֔ה אָשׁ֛וּבָה אֶרְעֶ֥ה צֹֽאנְ/ךָ֖ אֶשְׁמֹֽר
I will passe through all thy flocke to day, remoouing from thence all the speckled and spotted cattell: and all the browne cattell among the sheepe, and the spotted and speckled among the goates, and of such shalbe my hire.
GenevaI wil passe through all thy flockes this day, and separate from them all the sheepe with litle spots and great spots, and al blacke lambes among the sheepe, and the great spotted, and litle spotted among the goates: and it shalbe my wages.
אֶֽעֱבֹ֨ר בְּ/כָל צֹֽאנְ/ךָ֜ הַ/יּ֗וֹם הָסֵ֨ר מִ/שָּׁ֜ם כָּל שֶׂ֣ה נָקֹ֣ד וְ/טָל֗וּא וְ/כָל שֶׂה חוּם֙ בַּ/כְּשָׂבִ֔ים וְ/טָל֥וּא וְ/נָקֹ֖ד בָּ/עִזִּ֑ים וְ/הָיָ֖ה שְׂכָרִֽ/י
So shall my righteousnesse answere for mee in time to come, when it shall come for my hire, before thy face: euery one that is not speckled and spotted amongst the goates, and browne amongst the sheepe, that shalbe counted stollen with me.
GenevaSo shall my righteousnesse answere for me hereafter, when it shall come for my rewarde before thy face, and euery one that hath not litle or great spots among the goates, and blacke among the sheepe, the same shalbe theft with me.
וְ/עָֽנְתָה בִּ֤/י צִדְקָתִ/י֙ בְּ/י֣וֹם מָחָ֔ר כִּֽי תָב֥וֹא עַל שְׂכָרִ֖/י לְ/פָנֶ֑י/ךָ כֹּ֣ל אֲשֶׁר אֵינֶ/נּוּ֩ נָקֹ֨ד וְ/טָל֜וּא בָּֽ/עִזִּ֗ים וְ/חוּם֙ בַּ/כְּשָׂבִ֔ים גָּנ֥וּב ה֖וּא אִתִּֽ/י
And Laban saide, Beholde, I would it might bee according to thy word.
GenevaThen Laban sayde, Goe to, woulde God it might be according to thy saying.
וַ/יֹּ֥אמֶר לָבָ֖ן הֵ֑ן ל֖וּ יְהִ֥י כִ/דְבָרֶֽ/ךָ
And he remoued that day the hee goates that were ring-straked, and spotted, and all the shee goats that were speckled and spotted, and euery one that had some white in it, and all the browne amongst the sheepe, and gaue them into the hand of his sonnes.
GenevaTherefore he tooke out the same day the hee goates that were partie coloured and with great spots, and all the shee goates with litle and great spots, and all that had white in them, and all the blacke among the sheepe, and put them in the keeping of his sonnes.
וַ/יָּ֣סַר בַּ/יּוֹם֩ הַ/ה֨וּא אֶת הַ/תְּיָשִׁ֜ים הָֽ/עֲקֻדִּ֣ים וְ/הַ/טְּלֻאִ֗ים וְ/אֵ֤ת כָּל הָֽ/עִזִּים֙ הַ/נְּקֻדּ֣וֹת וְ/הַ/טְּלֻאֹ֔ת כֹּ֤ל אֲשֶׁר לָבָן֙ בּ֔/וֹ וְ/כָל ח֖וּם בַּ/כְּשָׂבִ֑ים וַ/יִּתֵּ֖ן בְּ/יַד בָּנָֽי/ו
And hee set three dayes iourney betwixt himselfe and Iacob: and Iacob fed the rest of Labans flocks.
GenevaAnd hee set three dayes iourney betweene himselfe and Iaakob. And Iaakob kept the rest of Labans sheepe.
וַ/יָּ֗שֶׂם דֶּ֚רֶךְ שְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת יָמִ֔ים בֵּינ֖/וֹ וּ/בֵ֣ין יַעֲקֹ֑ב וְ/יַעֲקֹ֗ב רֹעֶ֛ה אֶת צֹ֥אן לָבָ֖ן הַ/נּוֹתָרֹֽת
¶ And Iacob tooke him rods of greene poplar, and of the hasel and chesnut tree, and pilled white strakes in them, and made the white appeare which was in the rods.
GenevaThen Iaakob tooke rods of greene popular, and of hasell, and of the chesnut tree, and pilled white strakes in them, and made the white appeare in the rods.
וַ/יִּֽקַּֽח ל֣/וֹ יַעֲקֹ֗ב מַקַּ֥ל לִבְנֶ֛ה לַ֖ח וְ/ל֣וּז וְ/עֶרְמ֑וֹן וַ/יְפַצֵּ֤ל בָּ/הֵן֙ פְּצָל֣וֹת לְבָנ֔וֹת מַחְשֹׂף֙ הַ/לָּבָ֔ן אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל הַ/מַּקְלֽוֹת
And he set the rods which he had pilled, before the flockes in the gutters in the watering troughes when the flocks came to drinke, that they should conceiue when they came to drinke.
GenevaThen he put the rods, which he had pilled, in the gutters and watering troughes, when the sheepe came to drink, before the sheepe. (for they were in heate, when they came to drinke)
וַ/יַּצֵּ֗ג אֶת הַ/מַּקְלוֹת֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר פִּצֵּ֔ל בָּ/רֳהָטִ֖ים בְּ/שִֽׁקֲת֣וֹת הַ/מָּ֑יִם אֲשֶׁר֩ תָּבֹ֨אןָ הַ/צֹּ֤אן לִ/שְׁתּוֹת֙ לְ/נֹ֣כַח הַ/צֹּ֔אן וַ/יֵּחַ֖מְנָה בְּ/בֹאָ֥/ן לִ/שְׁתּֽוֹת
And the flockes conceiued before the rods, and brought forth cattell ringstraked, speckled and spotted.
GenevaAnd the sheepe were in heate before the rods, and afterward brought forth yong of partie colour, and with small and great spots.
וַ/יֶּחֱמ֥וּ הַ/צֹּ֖אן אֶל הַ/מַּקְל֑וֹת וַ/תֵּלַ֣דְןָ הַ/צֹּ֔אן עֲקֻדִּ֥ים נְקֻדִּ֖ים וּ/טְלֻאִֽים
And Iacob did separate the lambes, and set the faces of the flockes toward the ring-straked, and all the browne in the flocke of Laban: and he put his owne flocks by themselues, and put them not vnto Labans cattell.
GenevaAnd Iaakob parted these lambes, and turned the faces of the flocke towardes these lambes partie coloured and all maner of blacke, among the sheepe of Laban: so hee put his owne flockes by themselues, and put them not with Labans flocke.
וְ/הַ/כְּשָׂבִים֮ הִפְרִ֣יד יַעֲקֹב֒ וַ֠/יִּתֵּן פְּנֵ֨י הַ/צֹּ֧אן אֶל עָקֹ֛ד וְ/כָל ח֖וּם בְּ/צֹ֣אן לָבָ֑ן וַ/יָּֽשֶׁת ל֤/וֹ עֲדָרִים֙ לְ/בַדּ֔/וֹ וְ/לֹ֥א שָׁתָ֖/ם עַל צֹ֥אן לָבָֽן
And it came to passe whensoeuer the stronger cattell did conceiue, that Iacob layd the rods before the eyes of the cattell in the gutters, that they might conceiue among the rods.
GenevaAnd in euery ramming time of the stronger sheepe, Iaakob layde the rods before the eyes of the sheepe in the gutters, that they might conceiue before the rods.
וְ/הָיָ֗ה בְּ/כָל יַחֵם֮ הַ/צֹּ֣אן הַ/מְקֻשָּׁרוֹת֒ וְ/שָׂ֨ם יַעֲקֹ֧ב אֶת הַ/מַּקְל֛וֹת לְ/עֵינֵ֥י הַ/צֹּ֖אן בָּ/רֳהָטִ֑ים לְ/יַחְמֵ֖/נָּה בַּ/מַּקְלֽוֹת
But when the cattel were feeble, hee put them not in: so the feebler were Labans, and the stronger Iacobs.
