Chapter 3
Ezra 3
And when the seuenth moneth was come, and the children of Israel were in the cities: the people gathered themselues together, as one man to Ierusalem.

וַ/יִּגַּע֙ הַ/חֹ֣דֶשׁ הַ/שְּׁבִיעִ֔י וּ/בְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בֶּ/עָרִ֑ים וַ/יֵּאָסְפ֥וּ הָ/עָ֛ם כְּ/אִ֥ישׁ אֶחָ֖ד אֶל יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם
Then stood vp Ieshua the sonne of Iozadak, & his brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel the sonne of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and builded the Altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offrings thereon, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God.

וַ/יָּקָם֩ יֵשׁ֨וּעַ בֶּן יֽוֹצָדָ֜ק וְ/אֶחָ֣י/ו הַ/כֹּהֲנִ֗ים וּ/זְרֻבָּבֶ֤ל בֶּן שְׁאַלְתִּיאֵל֙ וְ/אֶחָ֔י/ו וַ/יִּבְנ֕וּ אֶת מִזְבַּ֖ח אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל לְ/הַעֲל֤וֹת עָלָי/ו֙ עֹל֔וֹת כַּ/כָּת֕וּב בְּ/תוֹרַ֖ת מֹשֶׁ֥ה אִישׁ הָ/אֱלֹהִֽים
And they set the altar vpon his bases, (for feare was vpon them, because of the people of those countreys) and they offered burnt offerings thereon vnto the LORD, euen burnt offerings, morning and euening.
GenevaAnd they set the altar vpon his bases (for feare was among them, because of the people of those countreis) therefore they offered burnt offrings thereon vnto the Lord, euen burnt offrings in the morning, and at euen.
וַ/יָּכִ֤ינוּ הַ/מִּזְבֵּ֨חַ֙ עַל מְכ֣וֹנֹתָ֔י/ו כִּ֚י בְּ/אֵימָ֣ה עֲלֵי/הֶ֔ם מֵ/עַמֵּ֖י הָ/אֲרָצ֑וֹת ו/יעל עָלָ֤י/ו עֹלוֹת֙ לַֽ/יהוָ֔ה עֹל֖וֹת לַ/בֹּ֥קֶר וְ/לָ/עָֽרֶב
They kept also the feast of tabernacles, as it is written, and offred the dayly burnt offrings, by number, according to the custome, as the duetie of euery day required:

וַֽ/יַּעֲשׂ֛וּ אֶת חַ֥ג הַ/סֻּכּ֖וֹת כַּ/כָּת֑וּב וְ/עֹלַ֨ת י֤וֹם בְּ/יוֹם֙ בְּ/מִסְפָּ֔ר כְּ/מִשְׁפַּ֖ט דְּבַר י֥וֹם בְּ/יוֹמֽ/וֹ
And afterward offered the continuall burnt offering, both of the new moones, and of all the set feasts of the LORD, that were consecrated, and of euery one that willingly offred, offered a free will offering vnto the LORD.
GenevaAnd afterwarde the continuall bnrnt offring, both in the newe moneths and in all the feast dayes that were consecrate vnto the Lord, and in all the oblations willingly offered vnto the Lord.
וְ/אַחֲרֵי כֵ֞ן עֹלַ֤ת תָּמִיד֙ וְ/לֶ֣/חֳדָשִׁ֔ים וּ/לְ/כָל מוֹעֲדֵ֥י יְהוָ֖ה הַ/מְקֻדָּשִׁ֑ים וּ/לְ/כֹ֛ל מִתְנַדֵּ֥ב נְדָבָ֖ה לַ/יהוָֽה
From the first day of the seuenth moneth, began they to offer burnt offerings vnto the LORD: but the foundation of the temple of the LORD was not yet laid.

מִ/יּ֤וֹם אֶחָד֙ לַ/חֹ֣דֶשׁ הַ/שְּׁבִיעִ֔י הֵחֵ֕לּוּ לְ/הַעֲל֥וֹת עֹל֖וֹת לַ/יהוָ֑ה וְ/הֵיכַ֥ל יְהוָ֖ה לֹ֥א יֻסָּֽד
They gaue money also vnto the masons, and to the carpenters, and meate, and drinke, and oyle, vnto them of Zidon, and to them of Tyre, to bring Cedar trees from Lebanon to the sea of Ioppa: according to the grant that they had of Cyrus king of Persia.

וַ/יִּ֨תְּנוּ כֶ֔סֶף לַ/חֹצְבִ֖ים וְ/לֶ/חָרָשִׁ֑ים וּ/מַאֲכָ֨ל וּ/מִשְׁתֶּ֜ה וָ/שֶׁ֗מֶן לַ/צִּֽדֹנִים֙ וְ/לַ/צֹּרִ֔ים לְ/הָבִיא֩ עֲצֵ֨י אֲרָזִ֤ים מִן הַ/לְּבָנוֹן֙ אֶל יָ֣ם יָפ֔וֹא כְּ/רִשְׁי֛וֹן כּ֥וֹרֶשׁ מֶֽלֶךְ פָּרַ֖ס עֲלֵי/הֶֽם
¶ Now in the second yere of their coming vnto the house of God at Ierusalem, in the second moneth, began Zerubbabel the sonne of Shealtiel, and Ieshua the sonne of Iozadak, and the remnant of their brethren, the Priests and the Leuites, and all they that were come out of the captiuitie vnto Ierusalem: and appointed the Leuites, from twentie yeeres olde and vpward, to set forward the worke of the house of the LORD.

וּ/בַ/שָּׁנָ֣ה הַ/שֵּׁנִ֗ית לְ/בוֹאָ֞/ם אֶל בֵּ֤ית הָֽ/אֱלֹהִים֙ לִ/יר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם בַּ/חֹ֖דֶשׁ הַ/שֵּׁנִ֑י הֵחֵ֡לּוּ זְרֻבָּבֶ֣ל בֶּן שְׁ֠אַלְתִּיאֵל וְ/יֵשׁ֨וּעַ בֶּן יֽוֹצָדָ֜ק וּ/שְׁאָ֥ר אֲחֵי/הֶ֣ם הַ/כֹּהֲנִ֣ים וְ/הַ/לְוִיִּ֗ם וְ/כָל הַ/בָּאִים֙ מֵ/הַ/שְּׁבִ֣י יְרֽוּשָׁלִַ֔ם וַ/יַּעֲמִ֣ידוּ אֶת הַ/לְוִיִּ֗ם מִ/בֶּ֨ן עֶשְׂרִ֤ים שָׁנָה֙ וָ/מַ֔עְלָ/ה לְ/נַצֵּ֖חַ עַל מְלֶ֥אכֶת בֵּית יְהוָֽה
Then stood Ieshua, with his sons and his brethren, Kadmiel and his sonnes, the sonnes of Iudah together, to set forward the workemen in the house of God: the sonnes of Henadad, with their sonnes and their brethren the Leuites.

וַ/יַּעֲמֹ֣ד יֵשׁ֡וּעַ בָּנָ֣י/ו וְ֠/אֶחָי/ו קַדְמִיאֵ֨ל וּ/בָנָ֤י/ו בְּנֵֽי יְהוּדָה֙ כְּ/אֶחָ֔ד לְ/נַצֵּ֛חַ עַל עֹשֵׂ֥ה הַ/מְּלָאכָ֖ה בְּ/בֵ֣ית הָ/אֱלֹהִ֑ים בְּנֵי֙ חֵֽנָדָ֔ד בְּנֵי/הֶ֥ם וַ/אֲחֵי/הֶ֖ם הַ/לְוִיִּֽם
And when the builders laide the foundation of the Temple of the LORD, they set the Priests in their apparell with Trumpets, and the Leuites the sonnes of Asaph, with Cymbales, to praise the LORD, after the ordinance of Dauid king of Israel.

וְ/יִסְּד֥וּ הַ/בֹּנִ֖ים אֶת הֵיכַ֣ל יְהוָ֑ה וַ/יַּעֲמִידוּ֩ הַ/כֹּהֲנִ֨ים מְלֻבָּשִׁ֜ים בַּ/חֲצֹֽצְר֗וֹת וְ/הַ/לְוִיִּ֤ם בְּנֵֽי אָסָף֙ בַּֽ/מְצִלְתַּ֔יִם לְ/הַלֵּל֙ אֶת יְהוָ֔ה עַל יְדֵ֖י דָּוִ֥יד מֶֽלֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל
And they sung together by course, in praising, and giuing thanks vnto the LORD; Because hee is good, for his mercy endureth for euer towards Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shoute, when they praised the LORD; because the foundation of the house of the LORD was laide.

וַֽ֠/יַּעֲנוּ בְּ/הַלֵּ֨ל וּ/בְ/הוֹדֹ֤ת לַֽ/יהוָה֙ כִּ֣י ט֔וֹב כִּֽי לְ/עוֹלָ֥ם חַסְדּ֖/וֹ עַל יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְ/כָל הָ/עָ֡ם הֵרִיעוּ֩ תְרוּעָ֨ה גְדוֹלָ֤ה בְ/הַלֵּל֙ לַֽ/יהוָ֔ה עַ֖ל הוּסַ֥ד בֵּית יְהוָֽה
But many of the Priests and Leuites, and chiefe of the fathers, who were ancient men, that had seene the first house; when the foundation of this house was laide before their eyes, wept with a loude voice, and many shouted aloude for ioy:

וְ/רַבִּ֡ים מֵ/הַ/כֹּהֲנִ֣ים וְ/הַ/לְוִיִּם֩ וְ/רָאשֵׁ֨י הָ/אָב֜וֹת הַ/זְּקֵנִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר רָא֜וּ אֶת הַ/בַּ֤יִת הָֽ/רִאשׁוֹן֙ בְּ/יָסְד֔/וֹ זֶ֤ה הַ/בַּ֨יִת֙ בְּ/עֵ֣ינֵי/הֶ֔ם בֹּכִ֖ים בְּ/ק֣וֹל גָּד֑וֹל וְ/רַבִּ֛ים בִּ/תְרוּעָ֥ה בְ/שִׂמְחָ֖ה לְ/הָרִ֥ים קֽוֹל
So that the people could not discerne the noyse of the shout of ioy, from the noyse of the weeping of the people: for the people shouted with a loude shout, and the noyse was heard afarre off.

וְ/אֵ֣ין הָ/עָ֗ם מַכִּירִים֙ ק֚וֹל תְּרוּעַ֣ת הַ/שִּׂמְחָ֔ה לְ/ק֖וֹל בְּכִ֣י הָ/עָ֑ם כִּ֣י הָ/עָ֗ם מְרִיעִים֙ תְּרוּעָ֣ה גְדוֹלָ֔ה וְ/הַ/קּ֥וֹל נִשְׁמַ֖ע עַד לְ/מֵ/רָחֽוֹק
