Ezekiel 35

Moreouer the word of the LORD came vnto mee, saying;

GenevaMoveover the worde of the Lord came vnto me, saying,

וַ/יְהִ֥י דְבַר יְהוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥/י לֵ/אמֹֽר

Sonne of man, set thy face against mount Seir, and prophecie against it,

GenevaSonne of man, Set thy face against mount Seir, and prophesie against it,

בֶּן אָדָ֕ם שִׂ֥ים פָּנֶ֖י/ךָ עַל הַ֣ר שֵׂעִ֑יר וְ/הִנָּבֵ֖א עָלָֽי/ו

And say vnto it, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O mount Seir, I am against thee, and I will stretch out mine hand against thee, and I will make thee most desolate.

GenevaAnd say vnto it, Thus sayth the Lord God, Behold, O mount Seir, I come against thee, and I wil stretch out mine hand against thee, and I will make thee desolate and waste.

וְ/אָמַ֣רְתָּ לּ֗/וֹ כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣/י יְהוִ֔ה הִנְ/נִ֥י אֵלֶ֖י/ךָ הַר שֵׂעִ֑יר וְ/נָטִ֤יתִי יָדִ/י֙ עָלֶ֔י/ךָ וּ/נְתַתִּ֖י/ךָ שְׁמָמָ֥ה וּ/מְשַׁמָּֽה

I will lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be desolate, and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.

GenevaI wil lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be desolate, and thou shalt knowe that I am the Lord.

עָרֶ֨י/ךָ֙ חָרְבָּ֣ה אָשִׂ֔ים וְ/אַתָּ֖ה שְׁמָמָ֣ה תִֽהְיֶ֑ה וְ/יָדַעְתָּ֖ כִּֽי אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה

Because thou hast had a perpetuall hatred, and hast shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their calamitie, in the time that their iniquitie had an end;

GenevaBecause thou hast had a perpetuall hatred and hast put the children of Israel to flight by the force of the sword in the time of their calamitie, when their iniquitie had an ende,

יַ֗עַן הֱי֤וֹת לְ/ךָ֙ אֵיבַ֣ת עוֹלָ֔ם וַ/תַּגֵּ֥ר אֶת בְּנֵֽי יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל עַל יְדֵי חָ֑רֶב בְּ/עֵ֣ת אֵידָ֔/ם בְּ/עֵ֖ת עֲוֺ֥ן קֵֽץ

Therefore, as I liue, saith the Lord GOD, I will prepare thee vnto blood, and blood shall pursue thee: sith thou hast not hated blood, euen blood shall pursue thee.

GenevaTherefore as I liue, sayth the Lord God, I wil prepare thee vnto blood, and blood shall pursue thee: except thou hate blood, euen blood shall pursue thee.

לָ/כֵ֣ן חַי אָ֗נִי נְאֻם֙ אֲדֹנָ֣/י יְהוִ֔ה כִּֽי לְ/דָ֥ם אֶעֶשְׂ/ךָ֖ וְ/דָ֣ם יִרְדֲּפֶ֑/ךָ אִם לֹ֥א דָ֛ם שָׂנֵ֖אתָ וְ/דָ֥ם יִרְדֲּפֶֽ/ךָ

Thus will I make mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it him that passeth out, & him that returneth.

GenevaThus will I make mount Seir desolate and waste, and cut off from it him that passeth out and him that returneth.

וְ/נָֽתַתִּי֙ אֶת הַ֣ר שֵׂעִ֔יר לְ/שִֽׁמְמָ֖ה וּ/שְׁמָמָ֑ה וְ/הִכְרַתִּ֥י מִמֶּ֖/נּוּ עֹבֵ֥ר וָ/שָֽׁב

And I will fill his mountaines with his slaine men: in thy hilles, and in thy valleis, and in all thy riuers shall they fall that are slaine with the sword.

GenevaAnd I will fill his mountaines with his slayne men: in thine hilles, and in thy valleys and in all thy riuers shall they fall, that are slayne with the sworde.

וּ/מִלֵּאתִ֥י אֶת הָרָ֖י/ו חֲלָלָ֑י/ו גִּבְעוֹתֶ֤י/ךָ וְ/גֵאוֹתֶ֨י/ךָ֙ וְ/כָל אֲפִיקֶ֔י/ךָ חַלְלֵי חֶ֖רֶב יִפְּל֥וּ בָ/הֶֽם

I will make thee perpetuall desolations, & thy cities shall not returne, and ye shal know that I am the LORD

GenevaI wil make thee perpetual desolations, and thy cities shall not returne, and ye shall knowe that I am the Lord.

שִֽׁמְמ֤וֹת עוֹלָם֙ אֶתֶּנְ/ךָ֔ וְ/עָרֶ֖י/ךָ לֹ֣א תישבנה וִֽ/ידַעְתֶּ֖ם כִּֽי אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה

Because thou hast said; These two nations, and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possesse it, whereas the LORD was there:

GenevaBecause thou hast said, These two nations, and these two countreys shalbe mine, and we wil possesse them (seeing the Lord was there)

יַ֣עַן אֲ֠מָרְ/ךָ אֶת שְׁנֵ֨י הַ/גּוֹיִ֜ם וְ/אֶת שְׁתֵּ֧י הָ/אֲרָצ֛וֹת לִ֥/י תִהְיֶ֖ינָה וִֽ/ירַשְׁנ֑וּ/הָ וַֽ/יהוָ֖ה שָׁ֥ם הָיָֽה

Therefore, as I liue, saith the Lord GOD, I will euen doe according to thine anger, and according to thine enuie, which thou hast vsed out of thy hatred against them: and I will make my selfe knowen amongst them, when I haue iudged thee.

GenevaTherefore as I liue, sayth the Lord God, I wil euen do according to thy wrath, and according to thine indignation which thou hast vsed in thine hatred against them: and I wil make my selfe knowen among them whe I haue iudged thee.

לָ/כֵ֣ן חַי אָ֗נִי נְאֻם֮ אֲדֹנָ֣/י יְהוִה֒ וְ/עָשִׂ֗יתִי כְּ/אַפְּ/ךָ֙ וּ/כְ/קִנְאָ֣תְ/ךָ֔ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשִׂ֔יתָה מִ/שִּׂנְאָתֶ֖י/ךָ בָּ֑/ם וְ/נוֹדַ֥עְתִּי בָ֖/ם כַּ/אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֶשְׁפְּטֶֽ/ךָ

And thou shalt know, that I am the LORD, and that I haue heard all thy blasphemies which thou hast spoken against the mountaines of Israel, saying; They are layed desolate, they are giuen vs to consume.

GenevaAnd thou shalt know, that I the Lord haue heard all thy blasphemies which thou hast spoken against the mountaines of Israel, saying, They lye waste, they are giuen vs to be deuoured.

וְֽ/יָדַעְתָּ֮ כִּֽי אֲנִ֣י יְהוָה֒ שָׁמַ֣עְתִּי אֶת כָּל נָאָֽצוֹתֶ֗י/ךָ אֲשֶׁ֥ר אָמַ֛רְתָּ עַל הָרֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֵ/אמֹ֣ר שממה לָ֥/נוּ נִתְּנ֖וּ לְ/אָכְלָֽה

Thus with your mouth yee haue boasted against me, & haue multiplied your words against me: I haue heard them.

GenevaThus with your mouthes ye haue boasted against me, and haue multiplied your words against me: I haue heard them.

וַ/תַּגְדִּ֤ילוּ עָלַ/י֙ בְּ/פִי/כֶ֔ם וְ/הַעְתַּרְתֶּ֥ם עָלַ֖/י דִּבְרֵי/כֶ֑ם אֲנִ֖י שָׁמָֽעְתִּי

Thus saith the Lord GOD; When the whole earth reioyceth, I will make thee desolate.

GenevaThus sayth the Lord God, So shall all the world reioyce when I shall make thee desolate.

כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֣/י יְהוִ֑ה כִּ/שְׂמֹ֨חַ֙ כָּל הָ/אָ֔רֶץ שְׁמָמָ֖ה אֶעֱשֶׂה לָּֽ/ךְ

As thou didst reioyce at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I doe vnto thee: thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Idumea, euen all of it, and they shall know that I am the LORD.

GenevaAs thou diddest reioyce at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I doe vnto thee: thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Idumea wholly, and they shall know, that I am the Lord.

כְּ/שִׂמְחָ֨תְ/ךָ֜ לְ/נַחְלַ֧ת בֵּֽית יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל עַ֥ל אֲשֶׁר שָׁמֵ֖מָה כֵּ֣ן אֶעֱשֶׂה לָּ֑/ךְ שְׁמָמָ֨ה תִֽהְיֶ֤ה הַר שֵׂעִיר֙ וְ/כָל אֱד֣וֹם כֻּלָּ֔/הּ וְ/יָדְע֖וּ כִּֽי אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה
