Exodus 13
And the LORD spake vnto Moses, saying,
GenevaAnd the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
וַ/יְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּ/אמֹֽר
Sanctifie vnto me all the first borne, whatsoeuer openeth the wombe, among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine.
GenevaSanctifie vnto me all the first borne: that is, euery one that first openeth the wombe among the children of Israel, as well of man as of beast: for it is mine.
קַדֶּשׁ לִ֨/י כָל בְּכ֜וֹר פֶּ֤טֶר כָּל רֶ֨חֶם֙ בִּ/בְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל בָּ/אָדָ֖ם וּ/בַ/בְּהֵמָ֑ה לִ֖/י הֽוּא
¶ And Moses said vnto the people, Remember this day, in which yee came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage: for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this place: there shall no leauened bread be eaten.
GenevaThen Moses sayd vnto the people, Remember this day in the which ye came out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage: for by a mightie hande the Lord brought you out from thence: therefore no leauened bread shall bee eaten.
וַ/יֹּ֨אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֜ה אֶל הָ/עָ֗ם זָכ֞וֹר אֶת הַ/יּ֤וֹם הַ/זֶּה֙ אֲשֶׁ֨ר יְצָאתֶ֤ם מִ/מִּצְרַ֨יִם֙ מִ/בֵּ֣ית עֲבָדִ֔ים כִּ֚י בְּ/חֹ֣זֶק יָ֔ד הוֹצִ֧יא יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶתְ/כֶ֖ם מִ/זֶּ֑ה וְ/לֹ֥א יֵאָכֵ֖ל חָמֵֽץ
This day came yee out, in the moneth Abib.
GenevaThis day come yee out in the moneth of Abib.
הַ/יּ֖וֹם אַתֶּ֣ם יֹצְאִ֑ים בְּ/חֹ֖דֶשׁ הָ/אָבִֽיב
¶ And it shalbe when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Hiuites, and the Iebusites, which he sware vnto thy fathers to giue thee, a land flowing with milke and hony, that thou shalt keepe this seruice in this moneth.
GenevaNow when the Lord hath brought thee into the land of the Canaanites, and Hittites, and Amorites, and Hiuites, and Iebusites (which he sware vnto thy fathers, that he woulde giue thee, a land flowing with milke and honie) then thou shalt keepe this seruice in this moneth.
וְ/הָיָ֣ה כִֽי יְבִֽיאֲ/ךָ֣ יְהוָ֡ה אֶל אֶ֣רֶץ הַֽ֠/כְּנַעֲנִי וְ/הַ/חִתִּ֨י וְ/הָ/אֱמֹרִ֜י וְ/הַ/חִוִּ֣י וְ/הַ/יְבוּסִ֗י אֲשֶׁ֨ר נִשְׁבַּ֤ע לַ/אֲבֹתֶ֨י/ךָ֙ לָ֣/תֶת לָ֔/ךְ אֶ֛רֶץ זָבַ֥ת חָלָ֖ב וּ/דְבָ֑שׁ וְ/עָבַדְתָּ֛ אֶת הָ/עֲבֹדָ֥ה הַ/זֹּ֖את בַּ/חֹ֥דֶשׁ הַ/זֶּֽה
Seuen dayes thou shalt eate vnleauened bread, and in the seuenth day shall be a feast to the LORD.
GenevaSeuen dayes shalt thou eate vnleauened bread, and the seuenth day shall be the feast of the Lord.
שִׁבְעַ֥ת יָמִ֖ים תֹּאכַ֣ל מַצֹּ֑ת וּ/בַ/יּוֹם֙ הַ/שְּׁבִיעִ֔י חַ֖ג לַ/יהוָֽה
Unleauened bread shall be eaten seuen dayes: and there shall no leauened bread bee seene with thee: neither shall there be leauen seene with thee in all thy quarters.
GenevaVnleauened bread shall bee eaten seuen dayes, and there shall no leauened bread be seene with thee, nor yet leauen be seene with thee in all thy quarters.
מַצּוֹת֙ יֵֽאָכֵ֔ל אֵ֖ת שִׁבְעַ֣ת הַ/יָּמִ֑ים וְ/לֹֽא יֵרָאֶ֨ה לְ/ךָ֜ חָמֵ֗ץ וְ/לֹֽא יֵרָאֶ֥ה לְ/ךָ֛ שְׂאֹ֖ר בְּ/כָל גְּבֻלֶֽ/ךָ
¶ And thou shalt shew thy sonne in that day, saying, This is done because of that which the LORD did vnto mee, when I came forth out of Egypt.
GenevaAnd thou shalt shew thy sonne in that day, saying, This is done, because of that which the Lord did vnto me, when I came out of Egypt.
וְ/הִגַּדְתָּ֣ לְ/בִנְ/ךָ֔ בַּ/יּ֥וֹם הַ/ה֖וּא לֵ/אמֹ֑ר בַּ/עֲב֣וּר זֶ֗ה עָשָׂ֤ה יְהוָה֙ לִ֔/י בְּ/צֵאתִ֖/י מִ/מִּצְרָֽיִם
And it shall bee for a signe vnto thee, vpon thine hand, and for a memoriall betweene thine eyes, that the LORDs law may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hande hath the LORD brought thee out of Egypt.
GenevaAnd it shalbe a signe vnto thee vpon thine hande, and for a remembrance betweene thine eyes, that the Lawe of the Lord may be in thy mouth: for by a strong hand the Lord brought thee out of Egypt.
וְ/הָיָה֩ לְ/ךָ֨ לְ/א֜וֹת עַל יָדְ/ךָ֗ וּ/לְ/זִכָּרוֹן֙ בֵּ֣ין עֵינֶ֔י/ךָ לְמַ֗עַן תִּהְיֶ֛ה תּוֹרַ֥ת יְהוָ֖ה בְּ/פִ֑י/ךָ כִּ֚י בְּ/יָ֣ד חֲזָקָ֔ה הוֹצִֽאֲ/ךָ֥ יְהֹוָ֖ה מִ/מִּצְרָֽיִם
Thou shalt therfore keepe this ordinance in his season from yeere to yere.
GenevaKeepe therefore this ordinance in his season appoynted from yeere to yeere.
וְ/שָׁמַרְתָּ֛ אֶת הַ/חֻקָּ֥ה הַ/זֹּ֖את לְ/מוֹעֲדָ֑/הּ מִ/יָּמִ֖ים יָמִֽימָ/ה
¶ And it shalbe when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites as he sware vnto thee, and to thy fathers, and shall giue it thee:
GenevaAnd when the Lord shall bring thee into the lande of the Canaanites, as hee sware vnto thee and to thy fathers, and shall giue it thee,
וְ/הָיָ֞ה כִּֽי יְבִֽאֲ/ךָ֤ יְהוָה֙ אֶל אֶ֣רֶץ הַֽ/כְּנַעֲנִ֔י כַּ/אֲשֶׁ֛ר נִשְׁבַּ֥ע לְ/ךָ֖ וְ/לַֽ/אֲבֹתֶ֑י/ךָ וּ/נְתָנָ֖/הּ לָֽ/ךְ
That thou shalt set apart vnto the LORD all that openeth the matrix, and euery firstling that commeth of a beast, which thou hast, the males shall be the LORDs.
GenevaThen thou shalt set apart vnto the Lord all that first openeth the wombe: also euery thing that first doeth open the wombe, and commeth forth of thy beast: the males shalbe the Lordes.
וְ/הַעֲבַרְתָּ֥ כָל פֶּֽטֶר רֶ֖חֶם לַֽ/יהֹוָ֑ה וְ/כָל פֶּ֣טֶר שֶׁ֣גֶר בְּהֵמָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר יִהְיֶ֥ה לְ/ךָ֛ הַ/זְּכָרִ֖ים לַ/יהוָֽה
And euery firstling of an asse thou shalt redeeme with a lambe: and if thou wilt not redeeme it, then thou shalt breake his necke, and all the first borne of man amongst thy children shalt thou redeeme.
GenevaBut euery first foale of an asse, thou shalt redeeme with a lambe: and if thou redeeme him not, then thou shalt breake his necke: likewise all the first borne of man among thy sonnes shalt thou bye out.
וְ/כָל פֶּ֤טֶר חֲמֹר֙ תִּפְדֶּ֣ה בְ/שֶׂ֔ה וְ/אִם לֹ֥א תִפְדֶּ֖ה וַ/עֲרַפְתּ֑/וֹ וְ/כֹ֨ל בְּכ֥וֹר אָדָ֛ם בְּ/בָנֶ֖י/ךָ תִּפְדֶּֽה
¶ And it shalbe when thy sonne asketh thee in time to come, saying, What is this? That thou shalt say vnto him; By strength of hand the LORD brought vs out from Egypt, from the house of bondage.
GenevaAnd when thy sonne shall aske thee to morowe, saying, What is this? thou shalt then say vnto him, With a mightie hande the Lord brought vs out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
וְ/הָיָ֞ה כִּֽי יִשְׁאָלְ/ךָ֥ בִנְ/ךָ֛ מָחָ֖ר לֵ/אמֹ֣ר מַה זֹּ֑את וְ/אָמַרְתָּ֣ אֵלָ֔י/ו בְּ/חֹ֣זֶק יָ֗ד הוֹצִיאָ֧/נוּ יְהוָ֛ה מִ/מִּצְרַ֖יִם מִ/בֵּ֥ית עֲבָדִֽים
And it came to passe when Pharaoh would hardly let vs goe, that the LORD slew all the first borne in the land of Egypt, both the first borne of man, and the first borne of beast: Therefore I sacrifice to the LORD all that openeth the matrix, being males: but all the first borne of my children I redeeme.
GenevaFor when Pharaoh was harde hearted against our departing, the Lord then slewe all the first borne in the lande of Egypt: from the first borne of man euen to the first borne of beast: therefore I sacrifice vnto the Lord all the males that first open the wombe, but all the first borne of my sonnes I redeeme.
וַ/יְהִ֗י כִּֽי הִקְשָׁ֣ה פַרְעֹה֮ לְ/שַׁלְּחֵ/נוּ֒ וַ/יַּהֲרֹ֨ג יְהֹוָ֤ה כָּל בְּכוֹר֙ בְּ/אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם מִ/בְּכֹ֥ר אָדָ֖ם וְ/עַד בְּכ֣וֹר בְּהֵמָ֑ה עַל כֵּן֩ אֲנִ֨י זֹבֵ֜חַ לַֽ/יהוָ֗ה כָּל פֶּ֤טֶר רֶ֨חֶם֙ הַ/זְּכָרִ֔ים וְ/כָל בְּכ֥וֹר בָּנַ֖/י אֶפְדֶּֽה
And it shall be for a token vpon thine hand, and for frontlets betweene thine eyes. For by strength of hand the LORD brought vs foorth out of Egypt.
GenevaAnd it shalbe as a token vpon thine hand, and as frontlets betweene thine eyes, that the Lord brought vs out of Egypt by a mightie hande.
וְ/הָיָ֤ה לְ/אוֹת֙ עַל יָ֣דְ/כָ֔ה וּ/לְ/טוֹטָפֹ֖ת בֵּ֣ין עֵינֶ֑י/ךָ כִּ֚י בְּ/חֹ֣זֶק יָ֔ד הוֹצִיאָ֥/נוּ יְהוָ֖ה מִ/מִּצְרָֽיִם
¶ And it came to passe when Pharaoh had let the people goe, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was neere: For God saide, Lest peraduenture the people repent when they see warre, and they returne to Egypt:
GenevaNowe when Pharaoh had let the people go, God caried them not by the way of the Philistims countrey, though it were neerer: (for God sayd, Lest the people repent whe they see warre, and turne againe to Egypt)
וַ/יְהִ֗י בְּ/שַׁלַּ֣ח פַּרְעֹה֮ אֶת הָ/עָם֒ וְ/לֹא נָחָ֣/ם אֱלֹהִ֗ים דֶּ֚רֶךְ אֶ֣רֶץ פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים כִּ֥י קָר֖וֹב ה֑וּא כִּ֣י אָמַ֣ר אֱלֹהִ֗ים פֶּֽן יִנָּחֵ֥ם הָ/עָ֛ם בִּ/רְאֹתָ֥/ם מִלְחָמָ֖ה וְ/שָׁ֥בוּ מִצְרָֽיְמָ/ה
But God ledde the people about through the way of the wildernesse of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went vp harnessed out of the land of Egypt.
GenevaBut God made the people to go about by the way of the wildernesse of the red sea: and the children of Israel went vp armed out of the land of Egypt.
וַ/יַּסֵּ֨ב אֱלֹהִ֧ים אֶת הָ/עָ֛ם דֶּ֥רֶךְ הַ/מִּדְבָּ֖ר יַם ס֑וּף וַ/חֲמֻשִׁ֛ים עָל֥וּ בְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל מֵ/אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם
And Moses tooke the bones of Ioseph with him: for hee had straitly sworne the children of Israel, saying; God will surely visite you, and ye shall cary vp my bones away hence with you.

וַ/יִּקַּ֥ח מֹשֶׁ֛ה אֶת עַצְמ֥וֹת יוֹסֵ֖ף עִמּ֑/וֹ כִּי֩ הַשְׁבֵּ֨עַ הִשְׁבִּ֜יעַ אֶת בְּנֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לֵ/אמֹ֔ר פָּקֹ֨ד יִפְקֹ֤ד אֱלֹהִים֙ אֶתְ/כֶ֔ם וְ/הַעֲלִיתֶ֧ם אֶת עַצְמֹתַ֛/י מִ/זֶּ֖ה אִתְּ/כֶֽם
¶ And they tooke their iourney from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, in the edge of the wildernesse.

And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way, and by night in a pillar of fire, to giue them light to goe by day and night.
GenevaAnd the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloude to leade them the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to giue them light, that they might go both by day and by night.
וַֽ/יהוָ֡ה הֹלֵךְ֩ לִ/פְנֵי/הֶ֨ם יוֹמָ֜ם בְּ/עַמּ֤וּד עָנָן֙ לַ/נְחֹתָ֣/ם הַ/דֶּ֔רֶךְ וְ/לַ֛יְלָה בְּ/עַמּ֥וּד אֵ֖שׁ לְ/הָאִ֣יר לָ/הֶ֑ם לָ/לֶ֖כֶת יוֹמָ֥ם וָ/לָֽיְלָה
He tooke not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.
