Chapter 9
Zechariah 9
The burden of the word of the LORD in the land of Hadrach, and Damascus shall bee the rest thereof: when the eyes of man, as of all the tribes of Israel shalbe toward the LORD.

מַשָּׂ֤א דְבַר יְהוָה֙ בְּ/אֶ֣רֶץ חַדְרָ֔ךְ וְ/דַמֶּ֖שֶׂק מְנֻחָת֑/וֹ כִּ֤י לַֽ/יהוָה֙ עֵ֣ין אָדָ֔ם וְ/כֹ֖ל שִׁבְטֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל
And Hamath also shall border thereby; Tyrus and Zidon, though it be very wise.
GenevaAnd Hamath also shall border thereby: Tyrus also and Zidon, though they be very wise.
וְ/גַם חֲמָ֖ת תִּגְבָּל בָּ֑/הּ צֹ֣ר וְ/צִיד֔וֹן כִּ֥י חָֽכְמָ֖ה מְאֹֽד
And Tyrus did builde her selfe a strong hold, and heaped vp siluer as the dust, and fine golde as the myre of the streets.

וַ/תִּ֥בֶן צֹ֛ר מָצ֖וֹר לָ֑/הּ וַ/תִּצְבָּר כֶּ֨סֶף֙ כֶּֽ/עָפָ֔ר וְ/חָר֖וּץ כְּ/טִ֥יט חוּצֽוֹת
Behold, the Lord wil cast her out, and he will smite her power in the sea, and she shalbe deuoured with fire.
GenevaBeholde, the Lord wil spoyle her, and he wil smite her power in the Sea, and she shalbe deuoured with fire.
הִנֵּ֤ה אֲדֹנָ/י֙ יֽוֹרִשֶׁ֔/נָּה וְ/הִכָּ֥ה בַ/יָּ֖ם חֵילָ֑/הּ וְ/הִ֖יא בָּ/אֵ֥שׁ תֵּאָכֵֽל
Ashkelon shall see it, and feare, Gaza also shall see it and be very sorrowfull, and Ekron: for her expectation shalbe ashamed, and the king shall perish from Gaza, and Ashkelon shal not be inhabited.

תֵּרֶ֨א אַשְׁקְל֜וֹן וְ/תִירָ֗א וְ/עַזָּה֙ וְ/תָחִ֣יל מְאֹ֔ד וְ/עֶקְר֖וֹן כִּֽי הֹבִ֣ישׁ מֶבָּטָ֑/הּ וְ/אָ֤בַד מֶ֨לֶךְ֙ מֵֽ/עַזָּ֔ה וְ/אַשְׁקְל֖וֹן לֹ֥א תֵשֵֽׁב
And a bastard shall dwell in Ashdod, and I will cut off the pride of the Philistines.
GenevaAnd the stranger shall dwell in Ashdod, and I wil cut off the pride of the Philistims.
וְ/יָשַׁ֥ב מַמְזֵ֖ר בְּ/אַשְׁדּ֑וֹד וְ/הִכְרַתִּ֖י גְּא֥וֹן פְּלִשְׁתִּֽים
And I wil take away his blood out of his mouth, and his abominations from betweene his teeth: but he that remaineth, euen hee shalbe for our God, and he shall be as a gouernour in Iudah, and Ekron as a Iebusite.

וַ/הֲסִרֹתִ֨י דָמָ֜י/ו מִ/פִּ֗י/ו וְ/שִׁקֻּצָי/ו֙ מִ/בֵּ֣ין שִׁנָּ֔י/ו וְ/נִשְׁאַ֥ר גַּם ה֖וּא לֵֽ/אלֹהֵ֑י/נוּ וְ/הָיָה֙ כְּ/אַלֻּ֣ף בִּֽ/יהוּדָ֔ה וְ/עֶקְר֖וֹן כִּ/יבוּסִֽי
And I will encampe about mine house because of the armie, because of him that passeth by, and because of him that returneth: and no oppressour shall passe through them any more: for now haue I seene with mine eyes.

וְ/חָנִ֨יתִי לְ/בֵיתִ֤/י מִצָּבָה֙ מֵ/עֹבֵ֣ר וּ/מִ/שָּׁ֔ב וְ/לֹֽא יַעֲבֹ֧ר עֲלֵי/הֶ֛ם ע֖וֹד נֹגֵ֑שׂ כִּ֥י עַתָּ֖ה רָאִ֥יתִי בְ/עֵינָֽ/י
¶ Reioyce greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout O daughter of Ierusalem: beholde, thy King commeth vnto thee: hee is iust, and hauing saluation, lowly, and riding vpon an asse, and vpon a colt, the foale of an asse.

גִּילִ֨י מְאֹ֜ד בַּת צִיּ֗וֹן הָרִ֨יעִי֙ בַּ֣ת יְרוּשָׁלִַ֔ם הִנֵּ֤ה מַלְכֵּ/ךְ֙ יָ֣בוֹא לָ֔/ךְ צַדִּ֥יק וְ/נוֹשָׁ֖ע ה֑וּא עָנִי֙ וְ/רֹכֵ֣ב עַל חֲמ֔וֹר וְ/עַל עַ֖יִר בֶּן אֲתֹנֽוֹת
And I wil cut off the charet from Ephraim, and the horse from Ierusalem: and the battell bow shalbe cut off, and he shall speake peace vnto the heathen, and his dominion shalbe from sea euen to sea, and from the Riuer, euen to the ends of the earth.

וְ/הִכְרַתִּי רֶ֣כֶב מֵ/אֶפְרַ֗יִם וְ/סוּס֙ מִ/יר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם וְ/נִכְרְתָה֙ קֶ֣שֶׁת מִלְחָמָ֔ה וְ/דִבֶּ֥ר שָׁל֖וֹם לַ/גּוֹיִ֑ם וּ/מָשְׁל/וֹ֙ מִ/יָּ֣ם עַד יָ֔ם וּ/מִ/נָּהָ֖ר עַד אַפְסֵי אָֽרֶץ
As for thee also, by the blood of thy Couenant, I haue sent foorth thy prisoners out of the pit, wherein is no water.
GenevaThou also shalt be saued through the blood of thy couenant. I haue loosed thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water.
גַּם אַ֣תְּ בְּ/דַם בְּרִיתֵ֗/ךְ שִׁלַּ֤חְתִּי אֲסִירַ֨יִ/ךְ֙ מִ/בּ֔וֹר אֵ֥ין מַ֖יִם בּֽ/וֹ
¶ Turne ye to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope, euen to day doe I declare that I will render double vnto thee:

שׁ֚וּבוּ לְ/בִצָּר֔וֹן אֲסִירֵ֖י הַ/תִּקְוָ֑ה גַּם הַ/יּ֕וֹם מַגִּ֥יד מִשְׁנֶ֖ה אָשִׁ֥יב לָֽ/ךְ
When I haue bent Iudah for me, filled the bow with Ephraim, and raised vp thy sonnes O Zion, against thy sonnes, O Greece, and made thee as the sword of a mightie man.
GenevaFor Iudah haue I bent as a bowe for me: Ephraims hand haue I filled, and I haue raised vp thy sonnes, O Zion, against thy sonnes, O Grecia, and haue made thee as a gyants sword.
כִּֽי דָרַ֨כְתִּי לִ֜/י יְהוּדָ֗ה קֶ֚שֶׁת מִלֵּ֣אתִי אֶפְרַ֔יִם וְ/עוֹרַרְתִּ֤י בָנַ֨יִ/ךְ֙ צִיּ֔וֹן עַל בָּנַ֖יִ/ךְ יָוָ֑ן וְ/שַׂמְתִּ֖י/ךְ כְּ/חֶ֥רֶב גִּבּֽוֹר
And the Lord shalbe seene ouer them, and his arrow shall goe forth as the lightning: and the Lord God shall blow the trumpet, and shall goe with whirlewinds of the South.
GenevaAnd the Lord shalbe seene ouer them, and his arrowe shall go forth as the lightning: and the Lord God shall blowe the trumpet, and shall come forth with the whirlewindes of the South.
וַֽ/יהוָה֙ עֲלֵי/הֶ֣ם יֵֽרָאֶ֔ה וְ/יָצָ֥א כַ/בָּרָ֖ק חִצּ֑/וֹ וַֽ/אדֹנָ֤/י יְהֹוִה֙ בַּ/שּׁוֹפָ֣ר יִתְקָ֔ע וְ/הָלַ֖ךְ בְּ/סַעֲר֥וֹת תֵּימָֽן
The LORD of hostes shall defend them, and they shall deuoure, and subdue with sling stones, and they shal drinke and make a noise, as through wine, and they shall bee filled like bowles, and as the corners of the Altar.

יְהוָ֣ה צְבָאוֹת֮ יָגֵ֣ן עֲלֵי/הֶם֒ וְ/אָכְל֗וּ וְ/כָֽבְשׁוּ֙ אַבְנֵי קֶ֔לַע וְ/שָׁת֥וּ הָמ֖וּ כְּמוֹ יָ֑יִן וּ/מָֽלְאוּ֙ כַּ/מִּזְרָ֔ק כְּ/זָוִיּ֖וֹת מִזְבֵּֽחַ
And the LORD their God shall saue them in that day as the flock of his people, for they shall be as the stones of a crowne lifted vp as an ensigne vpon his land.
GenevaAnd the Lord their God shall deliuer them in that day as the flocke of his people: for they shall be as the stones of the crowne lifted up upon his land.
וְֽ/הוֹשִׁיעָ֞/ם יְהוָ֧ה אֱלֹהֵי/הֶ֛ם בַּ/יּ֥וֹם הַ/ה֖וּא כְּ/צֹ֣אן עַמּ֑/וֹ כִּ֚י אַבְנֵי נֵ֔זֶר מִֽתְנוֹסְס֖וֹת עַל אַדְמָתֽ/וֹ
For how great is his goodnesse, and how great is his beautie? corne shal make the yong men cheerefull, and new wine the maides.

כִּ֥י מַה טּוּב֖/וֹ וּ/מַה יָפְי֑/וֹ דָּגָן֙ בַּֽחוּרִ֔ים וְ/תִיר֖וֹשׁ יְנוֹבֵ֥ב בְּתֻלֽוֹת
