GenevaLet him kisse me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy loue is better then wine.
שִׁ֥יר הַ/שִּׁירִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר לִ/שְׁלֹמֹֽה
Let him kisse mee with the kisses of his mouth: for thy Loue is better then wine.
GenevaBecause of the sauour of thy good ointments thy name is as an ointment powred out: therefore the virgins loue thee.
יִשָּׁקֵ֨/נִי֙ מִ/נְּשִׁיק֣וֹת פִּ֔י/הוּ כִּֽי טוֹבִ֥ים דֹּדֶ֖י/ךָ מִ/יָּֽיִן
Because of the sauour of thy good ointments, thy name is as ointment powred forth, therefore doe the virgins loue thee.
GenevaDrawe me: we will runne after thee: the King hath brought me into his chabers: we will reioyce and be glad in thee: we will remember thy loue more then wine: the righteous do loue thee.
לְ/רֵ֨יחַ֙ שְׁמָנֶ֣י/ךָ טוֹבִ֔ים שֶׁ֖מֶן תּוּרַ֣ק שְׁמֶ֑/ךָ עַל כֵּ֖ן עֲלָמ֥וֹת אֲהֵבֽוּ/ךָ
Draw me, we will runne after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and reioyce in thee, we wil remember thy loue more then wine: the vpright loue thee.
GenevaI am blacke, O daughters of Ierusalem, but comely, as the tentes of Kedar, and as the curtaines of Salomon.
מָשְׁכֵ֖/נִי אַחֲרֶ֣י/ךָ נָּר֑וּצָה הֱבִיאַ֨/נִי הַ/מֶּ֜לֶךְ חֲדָרָ֗י/ו נָגִ֤ילָה וְ/נִשְׂמְחָה֙ בָּ֔/ךְ נַזְכִּ֤ירָה דֹדֶ֨י/ךָ֙ מִ/יַּ֔יִן מֵישָׁרִ֖ים אֲהֵבֽוּ/ךָ
I am blacke, but comely, (O ye daughters of Ierusalem) as the tents of Kedar, as the curtaines of Solomon.
GenevaRegard ye me not because I am blacke: for the sunne hath looked vpon mee. The sonnes of my mother were angry against mee: they made me the keeper of ye vines: but I kept not mine owne vine.
שְׁחוֹרָ֤ה אֲנִי֙ וְֽ/נָאוָ֔ה בְּנ֖וֹת יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם כְּ/אָהֳלֵ֣י קֵדָ֔ר כִּ/ירִיע֖וֹת שְׁלֹמֹֽה
Looke not vpon me because I am blacke, because the Sunne hath looked vpon me: my mothers children were angry with me, they made me the keeper of the vineyards, but mine owne vineyard haue I not kept.
GenevaShewe me, O thou, whome my soule loueth, where thou feedest, where thou liest at noone: for why should I be as she that turneth aside to the flockes of thy companions?
אַל תִּרְא֨וּ/נִי֙ שֶׁ/אֲנִ֣י שְׁחַרְחֹ֔רֶת שֶׁ/שֱּׁזָפַ֖תְ/נִי הַ/שָּׁ֑מֶשׁ בְּנֵ֧י אִמִּ֣/י נִֽחֲרוּ בִ֗/י שָׂמֻ֨/נִי֙ נֹטֵרָ֣ה אֶת הַ/כְּרָמִ֔ים כַּרְמִ֥/י שֶׁ/לִּ֖/י לֹ֥א נָטָֽרְתִּי
Tell me, (O thou whom my soule loueth) where thou feedest, where thou makest thy flocke to rest at noone: for why should I be as one that turneth aside by the flockes of thy companions?
GenevaIf thou knowe not, O thou the fairest among women, get thee foorth by the steps of the flocke, and feede thy kiddes by the tents of the shepheards.
הַגִּ֣ידָ/ה לִּ֗/י שֶׁ֤/אָהֲבָה֙ נַפְשִׁ֔/י אֵיכָ֣ה תִרְעֶ֔ה אֵיכָ֖ה תַּרְבִּ֣יץ בַּֽ/צָּהֳרָ֑יִם שַׁ/לָּ/מָ֤ה אֶֽהְיֶה֙ כְּ/עֹ֣טְיָ֔ה עַ֖ל עֶדְרֵ֥י חֲבֵרֶֽי/ךָ
¶ If thou know not (O thou fairest among women) goe thy way forth by the footsteps of the flocke, and feede thy kiddes beside the shepheards tents.
GenevaI haue compared thee, O my loue, to the troupe of horses in the charets of Pharaoh.
אִם לֹ֤א תֵדְעִי֙ לָ֔/ךְ הַ/יָּפָ֖ה בַּ/נָּשִׁ֑ים צְֽאִי לָ֞/ךְ בְּ/עִקְבֵ֣י הַ/צֹּ֗אן וּ/רְעִי֙ אֶת גְּדִיֹּתַ֔יִ/ךְ עַ֖ל מִשְׁכְּנ֥וֹת הָ/רֹעִֽים
I haue compared thee, O my loue, to a company of horses in Pharaohs chariots.
GenevaThy cheekes are comely with rowes of stones, and thy necke with chaines.
לְ/סֻסָתִ/י֙ בְּ/רִכְבֵ֣י פַרְעֹ֔ה דִּמִּיתִ֖י/ךְ רַעְיָתִֽ/י
Thy cheekes are comely with rowes of iewels, thy necke with chaines of golde.
GenevaWe will make thee borders of golde with studdes of siluer.
נָאו֤וּ לְחָיַ֨יִ/ךְ֙ בַּ/תֹּרִ֔ים צַוָּארֵ֖/ךְ בַּ/חֲרוּזִֽים
Wee will make thee borders of golde, with studdes of siluer.
GenevaWhiles the King was at his repast, my spikenard gaue the smelll thereof.
תּוֹרֵ֤י זָהָב֙ נַעֲשֶׂה לָּ֔/ךְ עִ֖ם נְקֻדּ֥וֹת הַ/כָּֽסֶף
¶ While the king sitteth at his table, my spikenard sendeth foorth the smell thereof.
GenevaMy welbeloued is as a bundle of myrrhe vnto me: he shall lie betweene my breasts.
עַד שֶׁ֤/הַ/מֶּ֨לֶךְ֙ בִּ/מְסִבּ֔/וֹ נִרְדִּ֖/י נָתַ֥ן רֵיחֽ/וֹ
A bundle of myrrhe is my welbeloued vnto me; he shall lie all night betwixt my breasts.
GenevaMy welbeloued is as a cluster of camphire vnto me in the vines of Engedi.
צְר֨וֹר הַ/מֹּ֤ר דּוֹדִ/י֙ לִ֔/י בֵּ֥ין שָׁדַ֖/י יָלִֽין
My beloued is vnto me, as a cluster of Camphire in the vineyards of Engedi.
GenevaMy loue, beholde, thou art faire: beholde, thou art faire: thine eyes are like the doues.
אֶשְׁכֹּ֨ל הַ/כֹּ֤פֶר דּוֹדִ/י֙ לִ֔/י בְּ/כַרְמֵ֖י עֵ֥ין גֶּֽדִי
Behold, thou art faire, my loue: behold, thou art faire, thou hast doues eyes.
GenevaMy welbeloued, beholde, thou art faire and pleasant: also our bed is greene:
הִנָּ֤/ךְ יָפָה֙ רַעְיָתִ֔/י הִנָּ֥/ךְ יָפָ֖ה עֵינַ֥יִ/ךְ יוֹנִֽים
Behold, thou art faire, my beloued; yea pleasant: also our bedde is greene.
GenevaThe beames of our house are cedars, our rafters are of firre.
הִנְּ/ךָ֨ יָפֶ֤ה דוֹדִ/י֙ אַ֣ף נָעִ֔ים אַף עַרְשֵׂ֖/נוּ רַעֲנָנָֽה
The beames of our house are Cedar, and our rafters of firre.
