Be mercifull vnto mee, O God, for man would swallow me vp: he fighting daily, oppresseth me.
GenevaTo him that excelleth. A Psalme of David on Michtam, concerning the dumme doue in a farre countrey, when the Philistims tooke him in Gath. Be mercifull vnto me, O God, for man would swallow me vp: he fighteth continually and vexeth me.
לַ/מְנַצֵּ֤חַ עַל י֬וֹנַת אֵ֣לֶם רְ֭חֹקִים לְ/דָוִ֣ד מִכְתָּ֑ם בֶּֽ/אֱחֹ֨ז אֹת֖/וֹ פְלִשְׁתִּ֣ים בְּ/גַֽת
Mine enemies would dayly swallow me vp: for they bee many that fight against me, O thou most high.

חָנֵּ֣/נִי אֱ֭לֹהִים כִּֽי שְׁאָפַ֣/נִי אֱנ֑וֹשׁ כָּל הַ֝/יּ֗וֹם לֹחֵ֥ם יִלְחָצֵֽ/נִי
What time I am afraide, I will trust in thee.
GenevaWhen I was afrayd, I trusted in thee.
שָׁאֲפ֣וּ שׁ֭וֹרְרַ/י כָּל הַ/יּ֑וֹם כִּֽי רַבִּ֨ים לֹחֲמִ֖ים לִ֣/י מָרֽוֹם
In God I will praise his worde, In God I haue put my trust, I will not feare what flesh can doe vnto me.
GenevaI will reioyce in God, because of his word, I trust in God, and will not feare what flesh can doe vnto me.
י֥וֹם אִירָ֑א אֲ֝נִ֗י אֵלֶ֥י/ךָ אֶבְטָֽח
Euery day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against mee for euill.
GenevaMine owne wordes grieue me dayly: all their thoughtes are against me to doe me hurt.
בֵּ/אלֹהִים֮ אֲהַלֵּ֪ל דְּבָ֫ר֥/וֹ בֵּ/אלֹהִ֣ים בָּ֭טַחְתִּי לֹ֣א אִירָ֑א מַה יַּעֲשֶׂ֖ה בָשָׂ֣ר לִֽ/י
They gather themselues together; they hide themselues, they marke my steps when they wait for my soule.
GenevaThey gather together, and keepe them selues close: they marke my steps, because they waite for my soule.
כָּל הַ֭/יּוֹם דְּבָרַ֣/י יְעַצֵּ֑בוּ עָלַ֖/י כָּל מַחְשְׁבֹתָ֣/ם לָ/רָֽע
Shall they escape by iniquitie? in thine anger cast downe the people, O God.
GenevaThey thinke they shall escape by iniquitie: O God, cast these people downe in thine anger.
יָג֤וּרוּ יצפינו הֵ֭מָּה עֲקֵבַ֣/י יִשְׁמֹ֑רוּ כַּ֝/אֲשֶׁ֗ר קִוּ֥וּ נַפְשִֽׁ/י
Thou tellest my wanderings, put thou my teares into thy bottle: are they not in thy booke?
GenevaThou hast counted my wandrings: put my teares into thy bottel: are they not in thy register?
עַל אָ֥וֶן פַּלֶּט לָ֑/מוֹ בְּ֝/אַ֗ף עַמִּ֤ים הוֹרֵ֬ד אֱלֹהִֽים
When I crie vnto thee, then shall mine enemies turne backe: this I know, for God is for me.
GenevaWhen I cry, then mine enemies shall turne backe: this I know, for God is with me.
נֹדִ/י֮ סָפַ֪רְתָּ֫ה אָ֥תָּה שִׂ֣ימָ/ה דִמְעָתִ֣/י בְ/נֹאדֶ֑/ךָ הֲ֝/לֹ֗א בְּ/סִפְרָתֶֽ/ךָ
In God will I praise his word: in the LORD will I praise his word.
GenevaI will reioyce in God because of his worde: in the Lord wil I reioyce because of his worde.
אָ֥֨ז יָ֘שׁ֤וּבוּ אוֹיְבַ֣/י אָ֭חוֹר בְּ/י֣וֹם אֶקְרָ֑א זֶה יָ֝דַ֗עְתִּי כִּֽי אֱלֹהִ֥ים לִֽ/י
In God haue I put my trust: I will not bee afraid what man can doe vnto me.
GenevaIn God doe I trust: I will not be afrayd what man can doe vnto me.
בֵּֽ֭/אלֹהִים אֲהַלֵּ֣ל דָּבָ֑ר בַּ֝/יהוָ֗ה אֲהַלֵּ֥ל דָּבָֽר
Thy vowes are vpon me, O God: I will render praises vnto thee.
GenevaThy vowes are vpon me, O God: I will render prayses vnto thee.
בֵּֽ/אלֹהִ֣ים בָּ֭טַחְתִּי לֹ֣א אִירָ֑א מַה יַּעֲשֶׂ֖ה אָדָ֣ם לִֽ/י
For thou hast deliuered my soule from death: wilt not thou deliuer my feet from falling? that I may walke before God in the light of the liuing.
