Psalms 120
A Song of degrees.
In my distresse I cried vnto the LORD: and hee heard me.
GenevaA song of degrees. I called vnto the Lord in my trouble, and hee heard me.
שִׁ֗יר הַֽ/מַּ֫עֲל֥וֹת אֶל יְ֭הוָה בַּ/צָּרָ֣תָ/ה לִּ֑/י קָ֝רָ֗אתִי וַֽ/יַּעֲנֵֽ/נִי
Deliuer my soule, O LORD, from lying lips: and from a deceitfull tongue.
GenevaDeliuer my soule, O Lord, from lying lippes, and from a deceitfull tongue.
יְֽהוָ֗ה הַצִּ֣ילָ/ה נַ֭פְשִׁ/י מִ/שְּׂפַת שֶׁ֑קֶר מִ/לָּשׁ֥וֹן רְמִיָּֽה
What shall be giuen vnto thee? or what shalbe done vnto thee, thou false tongue?
GenevaWhat doeth thy deceitfull tongue bring vnto thee? or what doeth it auaile thee?
מַה יִּתֵּ֣ן לְ֭/ךָ וּ/מַה יֹּסִ֥יף לָ֗/ךְ לָשׁ֥וֹן רְמִיָּֽה
Sharpe arrowes of the mightie: with coales of iuniper.
GenevaIt is as the sharpe arrowes of a mightie man, and as the coales of iuniper.
חִצֵּ֣י גִבּ֣וֹר שְׁנוּנִ֑ים עִ֝֗ם גַּחֲלֵ֥י רְתָמִֽים
Woe is me, that I soiourne in Mesech: that I dwell in the tents of Kedar.
GenevaWoe is to me that I remaine in Meschech, and dwell in the tentes of Kedar.
אֽוֹיָה לִ֭/י כִּי גַ֣רְתִּי מֶ֑שֶׁךְ שָׁ֝כַ֗נְתִּי עִֽם אָהֳלֵ֥י קֵדָֽר
My soule hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace.
GenevaMy soule hath too long dwelt with him that hateth peace.
רַ֭בַּת שָֽׁכְנָה לָּ֣/הּ נַפְשִׁ֑/י עִ֝֗ם שׂוֹנֵ֥א שָׁלֽוֹם
I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for warre.
GenevaI seeke peace, and when I speake thereof, they are bent to warre.
אֲֽנִי שָׁ֭לוֹם וְ/כִ֣י אֲדַבֵּ֑ר הֵ֝֗מָּה לַ/מִּלְחָמָֽה
