Psalms 118
O giue thankes vnto the LORD, for hee is good: because his mercie endureth for euer.
GenevaPraise yee the Lord, because he is good: for his mercie endureth for euer.
הוֹד֣וּ לַ/יהוָ֣ה כִּי ט֑וֹב כִּ֖י לְ/עוֹלָ֣ם חַסְדּֽ/וֹ
Let Israel now say: that his mercy endureth for euer.
GenevaLet Israel now say, That his mercy endureth for euer.
יֹֽאמַר נָ֥א יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל כִּ֖י לְ/עוֹלָ֣ם חַסְדּֽ/וֹ
Let the house of Aaron now say: that his mercy endureth for euer.
GenevaLet the house of Aaron nowe say, That his mercy endureth for euer.
יֹֽאמְרוּ נָ֥א בֵֽית אַהֲרֹ֑ן כִּ֖י לְ/עוֹלָ֣ם חַסְדּֽ/וֹ
Let them now that feare the LORD, say: that his mercy endureth for euer.
GenevaLet them, that feare the Lord, nowe say, That his mercie endureth for euer.
יֹֽאמְרוּ נָ֭א יִרְאֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה כִּ֖י לְ/עוֹלָ֣ם חַסְדּֽ/וֹ
I called vpon the LORD in distresse: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place.
GenevaI called vpon the Lord in trouble, and the Lord heard me, and set me at large.
מִֽן הַ֭/מֵּצַ֥ר קָרָ֣אתִי יָּ֑הּ עָנָ֖/נִי בַ/מֶּרְחָ֣ב יָֽהּ
The LORD is on my side, I will not feare: What can man doe vnto mee?
GenevaThe Lord is with mee: therefore I will not feare what man can doe vnto me.
יְהוָ֣ה לִ֭/י לֹ֣א אִירָ֑א מַה יַּעֲשֶׂ֖ה לִ֣/י אָדָֽם
The LORD taketh my part with them that helpe me: therfore shall I see my desire vpon them that hate me.
GenevaThe Lord is with mee among them that helpe me: therefore shall I see my desire vpon mine enemies.
יְהוָ֣ה לִ֭/י בְּ/עֹזְרָ֑/י וַ֝/אֲנִ֗י אֶרְאֶ֥ה בְ/שֹׂנְאָֽ/י
It is better to trust in the LORD: then to put confidence in man.
GenevaIt is better to trust in the Lord, then to haue confidence in man.
ט֗וֹב לַ/חֲס֥וֹת בַּ/יהוָ֑ה מִ֝/בְּטֹ֗חַ בָּ/אָדָֽם
It is better to trust in the LORD: then to put confidence in Princes.

ט֗וֹב לַ/חֲס֥וֹת בַּ/יהוָ֑ה מִ֝/בְּטֹ֗חַ בִּ/נְדִיבִֽים
All nations compassed me about: but in the Name of the LORD, will I destroy them.
GenevaAll nations haue compassed me: but in the Name of the Lord shall I destroy them.
כָּל גּוֹיִ֥ם סְבָב֑וּ/נִי בְּ/שֵׁ֥ם יְ֝הוָ֗ה כִּ֣י אֲמִילַֽ/ם
They compassed mee about, yea they compassed mee about: but in the Name of the LORD, I will destroy them.
GenevaThey haue compassed mee, yea, they haue compassed mee: but in the Name of the Lord I shall destroy them.
סַבּ֥וּ/נִי גַם סְבָב֑וּ/נִי בְּ/שֵׁ֥ם יְ֝הוָ֗ה כִּ֣י אֲמִילַֽ/ם
They compassed mee about like Bees, they are quenched as the fire of thornes: for in the Name of the LORD I wil destroy them.
GenevaThey came about mee like bees, but they were quenched as a fire of thornes: for in the Name of the Lord I shall destroy them.
סַבּ֤וּ/נִי כִ/דְבוֹרִ֗ים דֹּ֭עֲכוּ כְּ/אֵ֣שׁ קוֹצִ֑ים בְּ/שֵׁ֥ם יְ֝הוָ֗ה כִּ֣י אֲמִילַֽ/ם
Thou hast thrust sore at mee that I might fall: but the LORD helped mee.
GenevaThou hast thrust sore at me, that I might fall: but the Lord hath holpen me.
דַּחֹ֣ה דְחִיתַ֣/נִי לִ/נְפֹּ֑ל וַ֖/יהוָ֣ה עֲזָרָֽ/נִי
The LORD is my strength and song: and is become my saluation.
GenevaThe Lord is my strength and song: for he hath beene my deliuerance.
עָזִּ֣/י וְ/זִמְרָ֣ת יָ֑הּ וַֽ/יְהִי לִ֝֗/י לִֽ/ישׁוּעָֽה
The voice of reioycing and saluation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the Right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.
GenevaThe voice of ioy and deliuerance shall be in the tabernacles of the righteous, saying, The right hand of the Lord hath done valiantly.
ק֤וֹל רִנָּ֬ה וִֽ/ישׁוּעָ֗ה בְּ/אָהֳלֵ֥י צַדִּיקִ֑ים יְמִ֥ין יְ֝הוָה עֹ֣שָׂה חָֽיִל
The Right hand of the LORD is exalted: the Right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.
GenevaThe right hand of the Lord is exalted: the right hand of the Lord hath done valiantly.
יְמִ֣ין יְ֭הוָה רוֹמֵמָ֑ה יְמִ֥ין יְ֝הוָה עֹ֣שָׂה חָֽיִל
I shall not die, but liue: and declare the workes of the LORD.
GenevaI shall not die, but liue, and declare the woorkes of the Lord.
לֹֽא אָמ֥וּת כִּי אֶֽחְיֶ֑ה וַ֝/אֲסַפֵּ֗ר מַֽעֲשֵׂ֥י יָֽהּ
The LORD hath chastened me sore: but he hath not giuen me ouer vnto death.
GenevaThe Lord hath chastened me sore, but he hath not deliuered me to death.
יַסֹּ֣ר יִסְּרַ֣/נִּי יָּ֑הּ וְ֝/לַ/מָּ֗וֶת לֹ֣א נְתָנָֽ/נִי
Open to mee the gates of righteousnesse: I will goe into them, and I will praise the LORD:
GenevaOpen ye vnto me the gates of righteousnes, that I may goe into them, and praise the Lord.
פִּתְחוּ לִ֥/י שַׁעֲרֵי צֶ֑דֶק אָֽבֹא בָ֝/ם אוֹדֶ֥ה יָֽהּ
This gate of the LORD: into which the righteous shall enter.
GenevaThis is the gate of the Lord: the righteous shall enter into it.
זֶֽה הַ/שַּׁ֥עַר לַ/יהוָ֑ה צַ֝דִּיקִ֗ים יָבֹ֥אוּ בֽ/וֹ
I will praise thee, for thou hast heard mee: and art become my saluation.
GenevaI will praise thee: for thou hast heard mee, and hast beene my deliuerance.
א֭וֹדְ/ךָ כִּ֣י עֲנִיתָ֑/נִי וַ/תְּהִי לִ֝֗/י לִֽ/ישׁוּעָֽה
The stone which the builders refused: is become the head stone of the corner.
GenevaThe stone, which the builders refused, is the head of the corner.
אֶ֭בֶן מָאֲס֣וּ הַ/בּוֹנִ֑ים הָ֝יְתָ֗ה לְ/רֹ֣אשׁ פִּנָּֽה
This is the LORDs doing: it is marueilous in our eyes.
GenevaThis was the Lordes doing, and it is marueilous in our eyes.
מֵ/אֵ֣ת יְ֭הוָה הָ֣יְתָה זֹּ֑את הִ֖יא נִפְלָ֣את בְּ/עֵינֵֽי/נוּ
This is the day which the LORD hath made: we will reioyce, and be glad in it.
GenevaThis is the day, which the Lord hath made: let vs reioyce and be glad in it.
זֶה הַ֭/יּוֹם עָשָׂ֣ה יְהוָ֑ה נָגִ֖ילָה וְ/נִשְׂמְחָ֣ה בֽ/וֹ
Saue now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperitie.
GenevaO Lord, I praie thee, saue now: O Lord, I praie thee nowe giue prosperitie.
אָנָּ֣א יְ֭הוָה הוֹשִׁ֘יעָ֥/ה נָּ֑א אָֽנָּ֥א יְ֝הוָ֗ה הַצְלִ֘יחָ֥/ה נָּֽא
Blessed be he that commeth in the Name of the LORD: wee haue blessed you out of the house of the LORD.
GenevaBlessed be he, that commeth in the Name of the Lord: wee haue blessed you out of the house of the Lord.
בָּר֣וּךְ הַ֭/בָּא בְּ/שֵׁ֣ם יְהוָ֑ה בֵּ֝רַֽכְנוּ/כֶ֗ם מִ/בֵּ֥ית יְהוָֽה
God is the LORD, which hath shewed vs light, bind the sacrifice with cords: euen vnto the horns of the Altar.
GenevaThe Lord is mightie, and hath giuen vs light: binde the sacrifice with cordes vnto the hornes of the altar.
אֵ֤ל יְהוָה֮ וַ/יָּ֪אֶר לָ֥/נוּ אִסְרוּ חַ֥ג בַּ/עֲבֹתִ֑ים עַד קַ֝רְנ֗וֹת הַ/מִּזְבֵּֽחַ
Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee.
GenevaThou art my God, and I will praise thee, euen my God: therefore I will exalt thee.
אֵלִ֣/י אַתָּ֣ה וְ/אוֹדֶ֑/ךָּ אֱ֝לֹהַ֗/י אֲרוֹמְמֶֽ/ךָּ
O giue thanks vnto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for euer.
