Numbers 5
And the LORD spake vnto Moses, saying,

וַ/יְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּ/אמֹֽר
Commaund the children of Israel, that they put out of the campe euery leper, and euery one that hath an issue, and whosoeuer is defiled by the dead:
GenevaCommaund the children of Israel that they put out of the hoste euery leper, and euery one that hath an issue, and whosoeuer is defiled by the dead.
צַ֚ו אֶת בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וִֽ/ישַׁלְּחוּ֙ מִן הַֽ/מַּחֲנֶ֔ה כָּל צָר֖וּעַ וְ/כָל זָ֑ב וְ/כֹ֖ל טָמֵ֥א לָ/נָֽפֶשׁ
Both male and female shal ye put out, without the campe shall yee put them, that they defile not their campes in the middest whereof I dwell.
GenevaBoth male and female shall ye put out: out of the hoste shall yee put them, that they defile not their tentes among whome I dwell.
מִ/זָּכָ֤ר עַד נְקֵבָה֙ תְּשַׁלֵּ֔חוּ אֶל מִ/ח֥וּץ לַֽ/מַּחֲנֶ֖ה תְּשַׁלְּח֑וּ/ם וְ/לֹ֤א יְטַמְּאוּ֙ אֶת מַ֣חֲנֵי/הֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֲנִ֖י שֹׁכֵ֥ן בְּ/תוֹכָֽ/ם
And the children of Israel did so, and put them out, without the campe: as the LORD spake vnto Moses, so did the children of Israel.
GenevaAnd the children of Israel did so, and put them out of the host, euen as the Lord had commanded Moses, so did the children of Israel.
וַ/יַּֽעֲשׂוּ כֵן֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַ/יְשַׁלְּח֣וּ אוֹתָ֔/ם אֶל מִ/ח֖וּץ לַֽ/מַּחֲנֶ֑ה כַּ/אֲשֶׁ֨ר דִּבֶּ֤ר יְהוָה֙ אֶל מֹשֶׁ֔ה כֵּ֥ן עָשׂ֖וּ בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל
¶ And the LORD spake vnto Moses, saying,
GenevaAnd the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
וַ/יְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּ/אמֹֽר
Speake vnto the children of Israel, When a man or woman shall commit any sinne that men commit, to doe a trespasse against the LORD, and that person be guiltie;
GenevaSpeake vnto the children of Israel, When a man or woman shall commit any sinne that men commit, and transgresse against the Lord, when that person shall trespasse,
דַּבֵּר֮ אֶל בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ אִ֣ישׁ אֽוֹ אִשָּׁ֗ה כִּ֤י יַעֲשׂוּ֙ מִ/כָּל חַטֹּ֣את הָֽ/אָדָ֔ם לִ/מְעֹ֥ל מַ֖עַל בַּ/יהוָ֑ה וְ/אָֽשְׁמָ֖ה הַ/נֶּ֥פֶשׁ הַ/הִֽוא
Then they shall confesse their sinne, which they haue done: and hee shall recompense his trespasse, with the principall thereof, and adde vnto it the fifth part thereof, and giue it vnto him against whom he hath trespassed.
GenevaThen they shall confesse their sinne which they haue done, and shall restore the domage thereof with his principall, and put the fift part of it more thereto, and shall giue it vnto him, against whom he hath trespassed.
וְ/הִתְוַדּ֗וּ אֶֽת חַטָּאתָ/ם֮ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשׂוּ֒ וְ/הֵשִׁ֤יב אֶת אֲשָׁמ/וֹ֙ בְּ/רֹאשׁ֔/וֹ וַ/חֲמִישִׁת֖/וֹ יֹסֵ֣ף עָלָ֑י/ו וְ/נָתַ֕ן לַ/אֲשֶׁ֖ר אָשַׁ֥ם לֽ/וֹ
But if the man haue no kinsman to recompense the trespasse vnto, let the trespasse be recompensed vnto the LORD, euen to the Priest: beside the ramme of the atonement, whereby an atonement shall be made for him.
GenevaBut if the man haue no kinseman, to whom he shoulde restore the domage, the domage shall be restored to the Lord for the Priests vse besides the ramme of the atonement, whereby hee shall make atonement for him.
וְ/אִם אֵ֨ין לָ/אִ֜ישׁ גֹּאֵ֗ל לְ/הָשִׁ֤יב הָ/אָשָׁם֙ אֵלָ֔י/ו הָ/אָשָׁ֛ם הַ/מּוּשָׁ֥ב לַ/יהוָ֖ה לַ/כֹּהֵ֑ן מִ/לְּ/בַ֗ד אֵ֚יל הַ/כִּפֻּרִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר יְכַפֶּר בּ֖/וֹ עָלָֽי/ו
And euery offering of all the holy things of the children of Israel, which they bring vnto the Priest, shall be his.
GenevaAnd euery offring of all the holy thinges of the children of Israel, which they bring vnto the Priest, shalbe his.
וְ/כָל תְּרוּמָ֞ה לְ/כָל קָדְשֵׁ֧י בְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל אֲשֶׁר יַקְרִ֥יבוּ לַ/כֹּהֵ֖ן ל֥/וֹ יִהְיֶֽה
And euery mans halowed things shall be his: whatsoeuer any man giueth the Priest, it shall be his.
GenevaAnd euery mans halowed things shall bee his: that is, whatsoeuer any man giueth the Priest, it shalbe his.
וְ/אִ֥ישׁ אֶת קֳדָשָׁ֖י/ו ל֣/וֹ יִהְי֑וּ אִ֛ישׁ אֲשֶׁר יִתֵּ֥ן לַ/כֹּהֵ֖ן ל֥/וֹ יִהְיֶֽה
¶ And the LORD spake vnto Moses, saying,
GenevaAnd the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,
וַ/יְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּ/אמֹֽר
Speake vnto the children of Israel, and say vnto them, If any mans wife goe aside, and commit a trespasse against him;

דַּבֵּר֙ אֶל בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְ/אָמַרְתָּ֖ אֲלֵ/הֶ֑ם אִ֥ישׁ אִישׁ֙ כִּֽי תִשְׂטֶ֣ה אִשְׁתּ֔/וֹ וּ/מָעֲלָ֥ה ב֖/וֹ מָֽעַל
And a man lye with her carnally, and it be hid from the eyes of her husband, and be kept close, and she be defiled, and there be no witnesse against her, neither she be taken with the maner;
GenevaSo that an other man lie with her fleshly, and it bee hid from the eyes of her husband, and kept close, and yet she be defiled, and there be no witnesse against her, neither she taken with the maner,
וְ/שָׁכַ֨ב אִ֣ישׁ אֹתָ/הּ֮ שִׁכְבַת זֶרַע֒ וְ/נֶעְלַם֙ מֵ/עֵינֵ֣י אִישָׁ֔/הּ וְ/נִסְתְּרָ֖ה וְ/הִ֣יא נִטְמָ֑אָה וְ/עֵד֙ אֵ֣ין בָּ֔/הּ וְ/הִ֖וא לֹ֥א נִתְפָּֽשָׂה
And the spirit of ielousie come vpon him, and he be ielous of his wife, and shee be defiled: or if the spirit of ielousie come vpon him, and hee be ielous of his wife, and she be not defiled:
GenevaIf he be moued with a ielous minde, so that he is ielous ouer his wife, which is defiled, or if he haue a ielous minde, so that he is ielous ouer his wife, which is not defiled,
וְ/עָבַ֨ר עָלָ֧י/ו רֽוּחַ קִנְאָ֛ה וְ/קִנֵּ֥א אֶת אִשְׁתּ֖/וֹ וְ/הִ֣וא נִטְמָ֑אָה אוֹ עָבַ֨ר עָלָ֤י/ו רֽוּחַ קִנְאָה֙ וְ/קִנֵּ֣א אֶת אִשְׁתּ֔/וֹ וְ/הִ֖יא לֹ֥א נִטְמָֽאָה
Then shall the man bring his wife vnto the Priest, and he shall bring her offering for her, the tenth part of an Ephah of barley meale: hee shall powre no oyle vpon it, nor put frankincense thereon; for it is an offering of ielousie, an offering of memoriall, bringing iniquitie to remembrance:
GenevaThen shall the man bring his wife to the Priest, and bring her offering with her, the tenth part of an Ephah of barly meale, but he shall not powre oyle vpon it, nor put incense thereon: for it is an offring of ielousie, an offring for a remembrance, calling the sinne to minde:
וְ/הֵבִ֨יא הָ/אִ֣ישׁ אֶת אִשְׁתּ/וֹ֮ אֶל הַ/כֹּהֵן֒ וְ/הֵבִ֤יא אֶת קָרְבָּנָ/הּ֙ עָלֶ֔י/הָ עֲשִׂירִ֥ת הָ/אֵיפָ֖ה קֶ֣מַח שְׂעֹרִ֑ים לֹֽא יִצֹ֨ק עָלָ֜י/ו שֶׁ֗מֶן וְ/לֹֽא יִתֵּ֤ן עָלָי/ו֙ לְבֹנָ֔ה כִּֽי מִנְחַ֤ת קְנָאֹת֙ ה֔וּא מִנְחַ֥ת זִכָּר֖וֹן מַזְכֶּ֥רֶת עָוֺֽן
And the Priest shall bring her neere, and set her before the LORD.
GenevaAnd the Priest shall bring her, and set her before the Lord.
וְ/הִקְרִ֥יב אֹתָ֖/הּ הַ/כֹּהֵ֑ן וְ/הֶֽעֱמִדָ֖/הּ לִ/פְנֵ֥י יְהוָֽה
And the Priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessell, and of the dust that is in the floore of the Tabernacle the Priest shall take, and put it into the water:
GenevaThen the Priest shall take the holy water in an earthen vessel, and of the dust that is in the floore of the Tabernacle, euen the Priest shall take it and put it into the water.
וְ/לָקַ֧ח הַ/כֹּהֵ֛ן מַ֥יִם קְדֹשִׁ֖ים בִּ/כְלִי חָ֑רֶשׂ וּ/מִן הֶֽ/עָפָ֗ר אֲשֶׁ֤ר יִהְיֶה֙ בְּ/קַרְקַ֣ע הַ/מִּשְׁכָּ֔ן יִקַּ֥ח הַ/כֹּהֵ֖ן וְ/נָתַ֥ן אֶל הַ/מָּֽיִם
And the Priest shall set the woman before the LORD, and vncouer the womans head, and put the offering of memoriall in her hands, which is the Ielousie offering: and the Priest shall haue in his hand the bitter water that causeth the curse.
GenevaAfter, the Priest shall set the woman before the Lord, and vncouer the womans head, and put the offring of the memorial in her hands: it is the ielousie offering, and the Priest shall haue bitter and cursed water in his hand,
וְ/הֶעֱמִ֨יד הַ/כֹּהֵ֥ן אֶֽת הָ/אִשָּׁה֮ לִ/פְנֵ֣י יְהוָה֒ וּ/פָרַע֙ אֶת רֹ֣אשׁ הָֽ/אִשָּׁ֔ה וְ/נָתַ֣ן עַל כַּפֶּ֗י/הָ אֵ֚ת מִנְחַ֣ת הַ/זִּכָּר֔וֹן מִנְחַ֥ת קְנָאֹ֖ת הִ֑וא וּ/בְ/יַ֤ד הַ/כֹּהֵן֙ יִהְי֔וּ מֵ֥י הַ/מָּרִ֖ים הַ/מְאָֽרֲרִֽים
And the Priest shall charge her by an othe, and say vnto the woman, If no man haue lyen with thee, and if thou hast not gone aside to vncleannesse with another in stead of thy husband, be thou free from this bitter water that causeth the curse.
GenevaAnd the Priest shall charge her by an othe, and say vnto the woman, If no man haue lien with thee, neither thou hast turned to vncleannesse from thine husband, be free from this bitter and cursed water.
וְ/הִשְׁבִּ֨יעַ אֹתָ֜/הּ הַ/כֹּהֵ֗ן וְ/אָמַ֤ר אֶל הָֽ/אִשָּׁה֙ אִם לֹ֨א שָׁכַ֥ב אִישׁ֙ אֹתָ֔/ךְ וְ/אִם לֹ֥א שָׂטִ֛ית טֻמְאָ֖ה תַּ֣חַת אִישֵׁ֑/ךְ הִנָּקִ֕י מִ/מֵּ֛י הַ/מָּרִ֥ים הַֽ/מְאָרֲרִ֖ים הָ/אֵֽלֶּה
But if thou hast gone aside to another in stead of thy husband, and if thou be defiled, and some man hath lien with thee beside thine husband:
GenevaBut if thou hast turned from thine husband, and so art defiled, and some man hath lyen with thee beside thine husband,
וְ/אַ֗תְּ כִּ֥י שָׂטִ֛ית תַּ֥חַת אִישֵׁ֖/ךְ וְ/כִ֣י נִטְמֵ֑את וַ/יִּתֵּ֨ן אִ֥ישׁ בָּ/ךְ֙ אֶת שְׁכָבְתּ֔/וֹ מִֽ/בַּלְעֲדֵ֖י אִישֵֽׁ/ךְ
Then the Priest shall charge the woman with an othe of cursing, and the Priest shall say vnto the woman, The LORD make thee a curse, and an othe among thy people, when the LORD doth make thy thigh to rot, and thy belly to swell.
Geneva(Then the Priest shall charge the woman with an othe of cursing, and the Priest shall say vnto the woman) The Lord make thee to be accursed, and detestable for the othe among thy people, and the Lord cause thy thigh to rot, and thy belly to swell:
וְ/הִשְׁבִּ֨יעַ הַ/כֹּהֵ֥ן אֶֽת הָֽ/אִשָּׁה֮ בִּ/שְׁבֻעַ֣ת הָ/אָלָה֒ וְ/אָמַ֤ר הַ/כֹּהֵן֙ לָֽ/אִשָּׁ֔ה יִתֵּ֨ן יְהוָ֥ה אוֹתָ֛/ךְ לְ/אָלָ֥ה וְ/לִ/שְׁבֻעָ֖ה בְּ/ת֣וֹךְ עַמֵּ֑/ךְ בְּ/תֵ֨ת יְהוָ֤ה אֶת יְרֵכֵ/ךְ֙ נֹפֶ֔לֶת וְ/אֶת בִּטְנֵ֖/ךְ צָבָֽה
And this water that causeth the curse, shall go into thy bowels, to make thy belly to swell, and thy thigh to rot: and the woman shall say, Amen, Amen.
GenevaAnd that this cursed water may goe into thy bowels, to cause thy belly to swell, and thy thigh to rot. Then the woman shall answere, Amen, Amen.
וּ֠/בָאוּ הַ/מַּ֨יִם הַ/מְאָרְרִ֤ים הָ/אֵ֨לֶּה֙ בְּֽ/מֵעַ֔יִ/ךְ לַ/צְבּ֥וֹת בֶּ֖טֶן וְ/לַ/נְפִּ֣ל יָרֵ֑ךְ וְ/אָמְרָ֥ה הָ/אִשָּׁ֖ה אָמֵ֥ן אָמֵֽן
And the Priest shall write these curses in a booke, and hee shall blot them out with the bitter water:
GenevaAfter, the Priest shall write these curses in a booke, and shall blot them out with the bitter water,
וְ֠/כָתַב אֶת הָ/אָלֹ֥ת הָ/אֵ֛לֶּה הַ/כֹּהֵ֖ן בַּ/סֵּ֑פֶר וּ/מָחָ֖ה אֶל מֵ֥י הַ/מָּרִֽים
And he shall cause the woman to drinke the bitter water, that causeth the curse: and the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter.
GenevaAnd shall cause the woman to drinke ye bitter and cursed water, and the cursed water, turned into bitternesse, shall enter into her.
וְ/הִשְׁקָה֙ אֶת הָ֣/אִשָּׁ֔ה אֶת מֵ֥י הַ/מָּרִ֖ים הַ/מְאָֽרֲרִ֑ים וּ/בָ֥אוּ בָ֛/הּ הַ/מַּ֥יִם הַֽ/מְאָרֲרִ֖ים לְ/מָרִֽים
Then the Priest shall take the ielousie offering out of the womans hand, and shall waue the offering before the LORD, and offer it vpon the Altar.
GenevaThen the Priest shall take the ielousie offring out of the womans hand, and shall shake the offring before the Lord, and offer it vpon ye altar.
וְ/לָקַ֤ח הַ/כֹּהֵן֙ מִ/יַּ֣ד הָֽ/אִשָּׁ֔ה אֵ֖ת מִנְחַ֣ת הַ/קְּנָאֹ֑ת וְ/הֵנִ֤יף אֶת הַ/מִּנְחָה֙ לִ/פְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה וְ/הִקְרִ֥יב אֹתָ֖/הּ אֶל הַ/מִּזְבֵּֽחַ
And the Priest shal take an handfull of the offering, euen the memoriall thereof, and burne it vpon the Altar, and afterward shall cause the woman to drinke the water.
GenevaAnd the Priest shall take an handfull of the offring for a memorial thereof, and burne it vpon the altar, and afterwarde make the woman drinke the water.
וְ/קָמַ֨ץ הַ/כֹּהֵ֤ן מִן הַ/מִּנְחָה֙ אֶת אַזְכָּ֣רָתָ֔/הּ וְ/הִקְטִ֖יר הַ/מִּזְבֵּ֑חָ/ה וְ/אַחַ֛ר יַשְׁקֶ֥ה אֶת הָ/אִשָּׁ֖ה אֶת הַ/מָּֽיִם
And when he hath made her to drinke the water, then it shall come to passe, that if shee be defiled, and haue done trespasse against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse, shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shal rot: and the woman shalbe a curse among her people.
GenevaWhen yee haue made her drinke the water, (if she bee defiled and haue trespassed against her husband) then shall the cursed water, turned into bitternesse, enter into her, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot, and the woman shall be accursed among her people.
וְ/הִשְׁקָ֣/הּ אֶת הַ/מַּ֗יִם וְ/הָיְתָ֣ה אִֽם נִטְמְאָה֮ וַ/תִּמְעֹ֣ל מַ֣עַל בְּ/אִישָׁ/הּ֒ וּ/בָ֨אוּ בָ֜/הּ הַ/מַּ֤יִם הַ/מְאָֽרֲרִים֙ לְ/מָרִ֔ים וְ/צָבְתָ֣ה בִטְנָ֔/הּ וְ/נָפְלָ֖ה יְרֵכָ֑/הּ וְ/הָיְתָ֧ה הָ/אִשָּׁ֛ה לְ/אָלָ֖ה בְּ/קֶ֥רֶב עַמָּֽ/הּ
And if the woman be not defiled, but be cleane, then she shall be free, and shall conceiue seed.
GenevaBut if the woman bee not defiled, but bee cleane, she shalbe free and shall conceiue and beare.
וְ/אִם לֹ֤א נִטְמְאָה֙ הָֽ/אִשָּׁ֔ה וּ/טְהֹרָ֖ה הִ֑וא וְ/נִקְּתָ֖ה וְ/נִזְרְעָ֥ה זָֽרַע
This is the law of ielousies, when a wife goeth aside to another in stead of her husband, and is defiled:
GenevaThis is the law of ielousie, when a wife turneth from her husband and is defiled,
זֹ֥את תּוֹרַ֖ת הַ/קְּנָאֹ֑ת אֲשֶׁ֨ר תִּשְׂטֶ֥ה אִשָּׁ֛ה תַּ֥חַת אִישָׁ֖/הּ וְ/נִטְמָֽאָה
Or when the spirit of ielousie commeth vpon him, and hee be ielous ouer his wife, and shall set the woman before the LORD, and the Priest shal execute vpon her all this law.
GenevaOr when a man is moued with a ielous minde being ielous ouer his wife then shall he bring the woman before the Lord, and the Priest shall do to her according to al this lawe,
א֣וֹ אִ֗ישׁ אֲשֶׁ֨ר תַּעֲבֹ֥ר עָלָ֛י/ו ר֥וּחַ קִנְאָ֖ה וְ/קִנֵּ֣א אֶת אִשְׁתּ֑/וֹ וְ/הֶעֱמִ֤יד אֶת הָֽ/אִשָּׁה֙ לִ/פְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה וְ/עָ֤שָׂה לָ/הּ֙ הַ/כֹּהֵ֔ן אֵ֥ת כָּל הַ/תּוֹרָ֖ה הַ/זֹּֽאת
Then shall the man bee guiltlesse from iniquitie, and this woman shall beare her iniquitie.
GenevaAnd the man shalbe free from sinne, but this woman shall beare her iniquitie.
וְ/נִקָּ֥ה הָ/אִ֖ישׁ מֵ/עָוֺ֑ן וְ/הָ/אִשָּׁ֣ה הַ/הִ֔וא תִּשָּׂ֖א אֶת עֲוֺנָֽ/הּ
