Genesis 25
Then againe Abraham tooke a wife, & her name was Keturah.
GenevaNowe Abraham had taken him another wife called Keturah,
וַ/יֹּ֧סֶף אַבְרָהָ֛ם וַ/יִּקַּ֥ח אִשָּׁ֖ה וּ/שְׁמָ֥/הּ קְטוּרָֽה
And shee bare him Zimran, and Iokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.

וַ/תֵּ֣לֶד ל֗/וֹ אֶת זִמְרָן֙ וְ/אֶת יָקְשָׁ֔ן וְ/אֶת מְדָ֖ן וְ/אֶת מִדְיָ֑ן וְ/אֶת יִשְׁבָּ֖ק וְ/אֶת שֽׁוּחַ
And Iokshan begat Sheba, and Dedan. And the sonnes of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim.

וְ/יָקְשָׁ֣ן יָלַ֔ד אֶת שְׁבָ֖א וְ/אֶת דְּדָ֑ן וּ/בְנֵ֣י דְדָ֔ן הָי֛וּ אַשּׁוּרִ֥ם וּ/לְטוּשִׁ֖ים וּ/לְאֻמִּֽים
And the sonnes of Midian, Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah: all these were the children of Keturah.
GenevaAlso the sonnes of Midian were Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah all these were the sonnes of Keturah.
וּ/בְנֵ֣י מִדְיָ֗ן עֵיפָ֤ה וָ/עֵ֨פֶר֙ וַ/חֲנֹ֔ךְ וַ/אֲבִידָ֖ע וְ/אֶלְדָּעָ֑ה כָּל אֵ֖לֶּה בְּנֵ֥י קְטוּרָֽה
¶ And Abraham gaue all that he had, vnto Isaac.
GenevaAnd Abraham gaue all his goods to Izhak,
וַ/יִּתֵּ֧ן אַבְרָהָ֛ם אֶת כָּל אֲשֶׁר ל֖/וֹ לְ/יִצְחָֽק
But vnto the sonnes of the concubines which Abraham had, Abraham gaue gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his sonne (while he yet liued) Eastward, vnto the East country.

וְ/לִ/בְנֵ֤י הַ/פִּֽילַגְשִׁים֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר לְ/אַבְרָהָ֔ם נָתַ֥ן אַבְרָהָ֖ם מַתָּנֹ֑ת וַֽ/יְשַׁלְּחֵ֞/ם מֵ/עַ֨ל יִצְחָ֤ק בְּנ/וֹ֙ בְּ/עוֹדֶ֣/נּוּ חַ֔י קֵ֖דְמָ/ה אֶל אֶ֥רֶץ קֶֽדֶם
And these are the dayes of the yeres of Abrahams life which he liued; an hundred, threescore & fifteene yeeres.
GenevaAnd this is the age of Abrahams life, which he liued, an hundreth seuentie and fiue yeere.
וְ/אֵ֗לֶּה יְמֵ֛י שְׁנֵֽי חַיֵּ֥י אַבְרָהָ֖ם אֲשֶׁר חָ֑י מְאַ֥ת שָׁנָ֛ה וְ/שִׁבְעִ֥ים שָׁנָ֖ה וְ/חָמֵ֥שׁ שָׁנִֽים
Then Abraham gaue vp the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of yeeres, and was gathered to his people.
GenevaThen Abraham yeelded the spirit, and died in a good age, an olde man, and of great yeeres, and was gathered to his people.
וַ/יִּגְוַ֨ע וַ/יָּ֧מָת אַבְרָהָ֛ם בְּ/שֵׂיבָ֥ה טוֹבָ֖ה זָקֵ֣ן וְ/שָׂבֵ֑עַ וַ/יֵּאָ֖סֶף אֶל עַמָּֽי/ו
And his sonnes Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the caue of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the sonne of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre;
GenevaAnd his sonnes, Izhak and Ishmael buryed him in the caue of Machpelah, in the fielde of Ephron sonne of Zohar the Hittite, before Mamre.
וַ/יִּקְבְּר֨וּ אֹת֜/וֹ יִצְחָ֤ק וְ/יִשְׁמָעֵאל֙ בָּנָ֔י/ו אֶל מְעָרַ֖ת הַ/מַּכְפֵּלָ֑ה אֶל שְׂדֵ֞ה עֶפְרֹ֤ן בֶּן צֹ֨חַר֙ הַֽ/חִתִּ֔י אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל פְּנֵ֥י מַמְרֵֽא
The field which Abraham purchased of the sonnes of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.
GenevaWhich fielde Abraham bought of the Hittites, where Abraham was buryed with Sarah his wife.
הַ/שָּׂדֶ֛ה אֲשֶׁר קָנָ֥ה אַבְרָהָ֖ם מֵ/אֵ֣ת בְּנֵי חֵ֑ת שָׁ֛מָּ/ה קֻבַּ֥ר אַבְרָהָ֖ם וְ/שָׂרָ֥ה אִשְׁתּֽ/וֹ
¶ And it came to passe after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his sonne Isaac, and Isaac dwelt by the well Lahai-roi.
GenevaAnd after the death of Abraham God blessed Izhak his sonne, and Izhak dwelt by Beer-lahai-roi.
וַ/יְהִ֗י אַחֲרֵי֙ מ֣וֹת אַבְרָהָ֔ם וַ/יְבָ֥רֶךְ אֱלֹהִ֖ים אֶת יִצְחָ֣ק בְּנ֑/וֹ וַ/יֵּ֣שֶׁב יִצְחָ֔ק עִם בְּאֵ֥ר לַחַ֖י רֹאִֽי
¶ Now these are the generations of Ishmael Abrahams sonne, whom Hagar the Egyptian Sarahs handmayd, bare vnto Abraham:

וְ/אֵ֛לֶּה תֹּלְדֹ֥ת יִשְׁמָעֵ֖אל בֶּן אַבְרָהָ֑ם אֲשֶׁ֨ר יָלְדָ֜ה הָגָ֧ר הַ/מִּצְרִ֛ית שִׁפְחַ֥ת שָׂרָ֖ה לְ/אַבְרָהָֽם
And these are the names of the sonnes of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations; The first borne of Ishmael, Nebaioth, and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,
GenevaAnd these are the names of the sonnes of Ishmael, name by name, according to their kinreds; the eldest sonne of Ishmael was Nebaioth, then Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,
וְ/אֵ֗לֶּה שְׁמוֹת֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׁמָעֵ֔אל בִּ/שְׁמֹתָ֖/ם לְ/תוֹלְדֹתָ֑/ם בְּכֹ֤ר יִשְׁמָעֵאל֙ נְבָיֹ֔ת וְ/קֵדָ֥ר וְ/אַדְבְּאֵ֖ל וּ/מִבְשָֽׂם
And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,
GenevaAnd Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,
וּ/מִשְׁמָ֥ע וְ/דוּמָ֖ה וּ/מַשָּֽׂא
Hadar, and Tema, Ietur, Naphish, and Kedemah.

חֲדַ֣ד וְ/תֵימָ֔א יְט֥וּר נָפִ֖ישׁ וָ/קֵֽדְמָה
These are the sonnes of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their townes and by their castels; twelue princes according to their nations.

אֵ֣לֶּה הֵ֞ם בְּנֵ֤י יִשְׁמָעֵאל֙ וְ/אֵ֣לֶּה שְׁמֹתָ֔/ם בְּ/חַצְרֵי/הֶ֖ם וּ/בְ/טִֽירֹתָ֑/ם שְׁנֵים עָשָׂ֥ר נְשִׂיאִ֖ם לְ/אֻמֹּתָֽ/ם
And these are the yeeres of the life of Ishmael; an hundred and thirty and seuen yeeres: and he gaue vp the ghost and died, and was gathered vnto his people.

וְ/אֵ֗לֶּה שְׁנֵי֙ חַיֵּ֣י יִשְׁמָעֵ֔אל מְאַ֥ת שָׁנָ֛ה וּ/שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים שָׁנָ֖ה וְ/שֶׁ֣בַע שָׁנִ֑ים וַ/יִּגְוַ֣ע וַ/יָּ֔מָת וַ/יֵּאָ֖סֶף אֶל עַמָּֽי/ו
And they dwelt from Hauilah vnto Shur, that is before Egypt, as thou goest towards Assyria: and hee died in the presence of all his brethren.
GenevaAnd they dwelt from Hauilah vnto Shur, that is towardes Egypt, as thou goest to Asshur. Ishmael dwelt in the presence of all his brethren.
וַ/יִּשְׁכְּנ֨וּ מֵֽ/חֲוִילָ֜ה עַד שׁ֗וּר אֲשֶׁר֙ עַל פְּנֵ֣י מִצְרַ֔יִם בֹּאֲ/כָ֖ה אַשּׁ֑וּרָ/ה עַל פְּנֵ֥י כָל אֶחָ֖י/ו נָפָֽל
¶ And these are the generations of Isaac, Abrahams sonne: Abraham begate Isaac.
GenevaLikewise these are the generations of Izhak Abrahams sonne Abraham begate Izhak,
וְ/אֵ֛לֶּה תּוֹלְדֹ֥ת יִצְחָ֖ק בֶּן אַבְרָהָ֑ם אַבְרָהָ֖ם הוֹלִ֥יד אֶת יִצְחָֽק
And Isaac was fortie yeeres old when hee tooke Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan Aram, the sister to Laban the Syrian.
GenevaAnd Izhak was fourtie yeere olde, when he tooke Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Aramite of Padan Aram, and sister to Laban the Aramite.
וַ/יְהִ֤י יִצְחָק֙ בֶּן אַרְבָּעִ֣ים שָׁנָ֔ה בְּ/קַחְתּ֣/וֹ אֶת רִבְקָ֗ה בַּת בְּתוּאֵל֙ הָֽ/אֲרַמִּ֔י מִ/פַּדַּ֖ן אֲרָ֑ם אֲח֛וֹת לָבָ֥ן הָ/אֲרַמִּ֖י ל֥/וֹ לְ/אִשָּֽׁה
And Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceiued.
GenevaAnd Izhak prayed vuto the Lord for his wife, because she was barren: and the Lord was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceiued,
וַ/יֶּעְתַּ֨ר יִצְחָ֤ק לַֽ/יהוָה֙ לְ/נֹ֣כַח אִשְׁתּ֔/וֹ כִּ֥י עֲקָרָ֖ה הִ֑וא וַ/יֵּעָ֤תֶר ל/וֹ֙ יְהוָ֔ה וַ/תַּ֖הַר רִבְקָ֥ה אִשְׁתּֽ/וֹ
And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? and shee went to enquire of the LORD.
GenevaBut the children stroue together within her: therefore shee sayde, Seeing it is so, why am I thus? wherefore she went to aske the Lord.
וַ/יִּתְרֹֽצֲצ֤וּ הַ/בָּנִים֙ בְּ/קִרְבָּ֔/הּ וַ/תֹּ֣אמֶר אִם כֵּ֔ן לָ֥/מָּה זֶּ֖ה אָנֹ֑כִי וַ/תֵּ֖לֶךְ לִ/דְרֹ֥שׁ אֶת יְהוָֽה
And the LORD said vnto her, Two nations are in thy wombe, and two maner of people shall be separated from thy bowels: and the one people shalbe stronger then the other people: and the elder shall serue the yonger.
GenevaAnd the Lord sayd to her, Two nations are in thy wombe, and two maner of people shalbe diuided out of thy bowels, and the one people shall be mightier then the other, and the elder shall serue the yonger.
וַ/יֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה לָ֗/הּ שְׁנֵ֤י גיים בְּ/בִטְנֵ֔/ךְ וּ/שְׁנֵ֣י לְאֻמִּ֔ים מִ/מֵּעַ֖יִ/ךְ יִפָּרֵ֑דוּ וּ/לְאֹם֙ מִ/לְאֹ֣ם יֶֽאֱמָ֔ץ וְ/רַ֖ב יַעֲבֹ֥ד צָעִֽיר
¶ And when her dayes to be deliuered were fulfilled, behold, there were twinnes in her wombe.
GenevaTherefore when her time of deliuerance was fulfilled, behold, twinnes were in her wombe.
וַ/יִּמְלְא֥וּ יָמֶ֖י/הָ לָ/לֶ֑דֶת וְ/הִנֵּ֥ה תוֹמִ֖ם בְּ/בִטְנָֽ/הּ
And the first came out red, all ouer like an hairy garment: and they called his name, Esau.
GenevaSo he that came out first was red, and he was all ouer as a rough garment, and they called his name Esau.
וַ/יֵּצֵ֤א הָ/רִאשׁוֹן֙ אַדְמוֹנִ֔י כֻּלּ֖/וֹ כְּ/אַדֶּ֣רֶת שֵׂעָ֑ר וַ/יִּקְרְא֥וּ שְׁמ֖/וֹ עֵשָֽׂו
And after that came his brother out, and his hand tooke holde on Esaus heele; and his name was called Iacob: and Isaac was threescore yeres old, when shee bare them.
GenevaAnd afterward came his brother out, and his hande helde Esau by the heele: therefore his name was called Iaakob. Nowe Izhak was threescore yeere olde when Rebekah bare them.
וְ/אַֽחֲרֵי כֵ֞ן יָצָ֣א אָחִ֗י/ו וְ/יָד֤/וֹ אֹחֶ֨זֶת֙ בַּ/עֲקֵ֣ב עֵשָׂ֔ו וַ/יִּקְרָ֥א שְׁמ֖/וֹ יַעֲקֹ֑ב וְ/יִצְחָ֛ק בֶּן שִׁשִּׁ֥ים שָׁנָ֖ה בְּ/לֶ֥דֶת אֹתָֽ/ם
And the boyes grew; and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the fielde: and Iacob was a plaine man, dwelling in tents.
GenevaAnd the boyes grew, and Esau was a cunning hunter, and liued in the fields: but Iaakob was a plaine man, and dwelt in tentes.
וַֽ/יִּגְדְּלוּ֙ הַ/נְּעָרִ֔ים וַ/יְהִ֣י עֵשָׂ֗ו אִ֛ישׁ יֹדֵ֥עַ צַ֖יִד אִ֣ישׁ שָׂדֶ֑ה וְ/יַעֲקֹב֙ אִ֣ישׁ תָּ֔ם יֹשֵׁ֖ב אֹהָלִֽים
And Isaac loued Esau, because he did eate of his venison: but Rebekah loued Iacob.
GenevaAnd Izhak loued Esau, for venison was his meate, but Rebekah loued Iaakob.
וַ/יֶּאֱהַ֥ב יִצְחָ֛ק אֶת עֵשָׂ֖ו כִּי צַ֣יִד בְּ/פִ֑י/ו וְ/רִבְקָ֖ה אֹהֶ֥בֶת אֶֽת יַעֲקֹֽב
¶ And Iacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and hee was faint.
GenevaNowe Iaakob sod pottage, and Esau came from the fielde and was wearie.
וַ/יָּ֥זֶד יַעֲקֹ֖ב נָזִ֑יד וַ/יָּבֹ֥א עֵשָׂ֛ו מִן הַ/שָּׂדֶ֖ה וְ/ה֥וּא עָיֵֽף
And Esau said to Iacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage: for I am faint; therefore was his name called Edom.
GenevaThen Esau sayd to Iaakob, Let me eate, I pray thee, of that pottage so red, for I am wearie. Therefore was his name called Edom.
וַ/יֹּ֨אמֶר עֵשָׂ֜ו אֶֽל יַעֲקֹ֗ב הַלְעִיטֵ֤/נִי נָא֙ מִן הָ/אָדֹ֤ם הָ/אָדֹם֙ הַ/זֶּ֔ה כִּ֥י עָיֵ֖ף אָנֹ֑כִי עַל כֵּ֥ן קָרָֽא שְׁמ֖/וֹ אֱדֽוֹם
And Iacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.
GenevaAnd Iaakob sayd, Sell me euen nowe thy birthright.
וַ/יֹּ֖אמֶר יַעֲקֹ֑ב מִכְרָ֥/ה כַ/יּ֛וֹם אֶת בְּכֹֽרָתְ/ךָ֖ לִֽ/י
And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright doe to me?
GenevaAnd Esau sayd, Lo, I am almost dead, what is then this birthright to me?
וַ/יֹּ֣אמֶר עֵשָׂ֔ו הִנֵּ֛ה אָנֹכִ֥י הוֹלֵ֖ךְ לָ/מ֑וּת וְ/לָ/מָּה זֶּ֥ה לִ֖/י בְּכֹרָֽה
And Iacob said, Sweare to mee this day: and he sware to him: and he sold his birthright vnto Iacob.
GenevaIaakob then said, Sweare to me euen now. And he sware to him, and solde his birthright vnto Iaakob.
וַ/יֹּ֣אמֶר יַעֲקֹ֗ב הִשָּׁ֤בְעָ/ה לִּ/י֙ כַּ/יּ֔וֹם וַ/יִּשָּׁבַ֖ע ל֑/וֹ וַ/יִּמְכֹּ֥ר אֶת בְּכֹרָת֖/וֹ לְ/יַעֲקֹֽב
Then Iacob gaue Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eate and drinke, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.
GenevaThen Iaakob gaue Esau bread and pottage of lentiles: and he did eate and drinke, and rose vp, and went his way: So Esau contemned his birthright.
וְ/יַעֲקֹ֞ב נָתַ֣ן לְ/עֵשָׂ֗ו לֶ֚חֶם וּ/נְזִ֣יד עֲדָשִׁ֔ים וַ/יֹּ֣אכַל וַ/יֵּ֔שְׁתְּ וַ/יָּ֖קָם וַ/יֵּלַ֑ךְ וַ/יִּ֥בֶז עֵשָׂ֖ו אֶת הַ/בְּכֹרָֽה
