Chapter 7
Ezekiel 7
Moreouer the word of the LORD came vnto mee, saying;
GenevaMoreover the word of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
וַ/יְהִ֥י דְבַר יְהוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥/י לֵ/אמֹֽר
Also thou sonne of man, thus saith the Lord GOD vnto the land of Israel, An end, the ende is come vpon the foure corners of the land.
GenevaAlso thou sonne of man, thus saith the Lord God, An ende is come vnto the lande of Israel: the ende is come vpon the foure corners of the lande.
וְ/אַתָּ֣ה בֶן אָדָ֗ם כֹּה אָמַ֞ר אֲדֹנָ֧/י יְהוִ֛ה לְ/אַדְמַ֥ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל קֵ֑ץ בָּ֣א הַ/קֵּ֔ץ עַל ארבעת כַּנְפ֥וֹת הָ/אָֽרֶץ
Now is the ende come vpon thee, and I will send mine anger vpon thee, and will iudge thee according to thy wayes, and will recompense vpon thee all thine abominations.
GenevaNowe is the ende come vpon thee, and I wil sende my wrath vpon thee, and will iudge thee according to thy wayes, and will laye vpon thee all thine abominations.
עַתָּה֙ הַ/קֵּ֣ץ עָלַ֔יִ/ךְ וְ/שִׁלַּחְתִּ֤י אַפִּ/י֙ בָּ֔/ךְ וּ/שְׁפַטְתִּ֖י/ךְ כִּ/דְרָכָ֑יִ/ךְ וְ/נָתַתִּ֣י עָלַ֔יִ/ךְ אֵ֖ת כָּל תּוֹעֲבֹתָֽיִ/ךְ
And mine eye shal not spare thee, neither will I haue pitie: but I will recompense thy wayes vpon thee, and thine abominations shalbe in the midst of thee, and yee shall know that I am the LORD.
GenevaNeither shall mine eye spare thee, neither will I haue pitie: but I will laye thy waies vpon thee: and thine abomination shall bee in the middes of thee, and yee shall knowe that I am the Lord.
וְ/לֹא תָח֥וֹס עֵינִ֛/י עָלַ֖יִ/ךְ וְ/לֹ֣א אֶחְמ֑וֹל כִּ֣י דְרָכַ֜יִ/ךְ עָלַ֣יִ/ךְ אֶתֵּ֗ן וְ/תוֹעֲבוֹתַ֨יִ/ךְ֙ בְּ/תוֹכֵ֣/ךְ תִּֽהְיֶ֔יןָ וִ/ידַעְתֶּ֖ם כִּֽי אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה
Thus sayth the Lord GOD, An euill, an onely euill, behold, is come.
GenevaThus saith the Lord God, Beholde, one euil, euen one euill is come.
כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֣/י יְהוִ֑ה רָעָ֛ה אַחַ֥ת רָעָ֖ה הִנֵּ֥ה בָאָֽה
An end is come, the end is come, it watcheth for thee, behold, it is come.
GenevaAn ende is come, the end is come, it watched for thee: beholde, it is come.
קֵ֣ץ בָּ֔א בָּ֥א הַ/קֵּ֖ץ הֵקִ֣יץ אֵלָ֑יִ/ךְ הִנֵּ֖ה בָּאָֽה
The morning is come vnto thee, O thou that dwellest in the land: the time is come, the day of trouble is neere, and not the sounding againe of the mountaines.

בָּ֧אָה הַ/צְּפִירָ֛ה אֵלֶ֖י/ךָ יוֹשֵׁ֣ב הָ/אָ֑רֶץ בָּ֣א הָ/עֵ֗ת קָר֛וֹב הַ/יּ֥וֹם מְהוּמָ֖ה וְ/לֹא הֵ֥ד הָרִֽים
Now will I shortly powre out my furie vpon thee, and accomplish mine anger vpon thee: and I wil iudge thee according to thy wayes, and will recompense thee for all thine abominations.
GenevaNow I will shortly powre out my wrath vpon thee, and fulfil mine anger vpon thee: I will iudge thee according to thy wayes, and will lay vpon thee all thine abominations.
עַתָּ֣ה מִ/קָּר֗וֹב אֶשְׁפּ֤וֹךְ חֲמָתִ/י֙ עָלַ֔יִ/ךְ וְ/כִלֵּיתִ֤י אַפִּ/י֙ בָּ֔/ךְ וּ/שְׁפַטְתִּ֖י/ךְ כִּ/דְרָכָ֑יִ/ךְ וְ/נָתַתִּ֣י עָלַ֔יִ/ךְ אֵ֖ת כָּל תּוֹעֲבוֹתָֽיִ/ךְ

וְ/לֹא תָח֥וֹס עֵינִ֖/י וְ/לֹ֣א אֶחְמ֑וֹל כִּ/דְרָכַ֜יִ/ךְ עָלַ֣יִ/ךְ אֶתֵּ֗ן וְ/תוֹעֲבוֹתַ֨יִ/ךְ֙ בְּ/תוֹכֵ֣/ךְ תִּֽהְיֶ֔יןָ וִֽ/ידַעְתֶּ֕ם כִּ֛י אֲנִ֥י יְהוָ֖ה מַכֶּֽה
Behold the day, behold, it is come, the morning is gone foorth, the rodde hath blossomed, pride hath budded.
GenevaBeholde, the day, beholde, it is come: the morning is gone forth, the rod florisheth: pride hath budded.
הִנֵּ֥ה הַ/יּ֖וֹם הִנֵּ֣ה בָאָ֑ה יָֽצְאָה֙ הַ/צְּפִרָ֔ה צָ֚ץ הַ/מַּטֶּ֔ה פָּרַ֖ח הַ/זָּדֽוֹן
Uiolence is risen vp into a rod of wickednesse: none of them shall remaine, nor of their multitude, nor of any of theirs, neither shall there be wailing for them.
GenevaCrueltie is risen vp into a rod of wickednes: none of them shall remaine, nor of their riches, nor of any of theirs, neither shall there bee lamentation for them.
הֶ/חָמָ֥ס קָ֖ם לְ/מַטֵּה רֶ֑שַׁע לֹא מֵ/הֶ֞ם וְ/לֹ֧א מֵ/הֲמוֹנָ֛/ם וְ/לֹ֥א מֶ/הֱמֵ/הֶ֖ם וְ/לֹא נֹ֥הַּ בָּ/הֶֽם
The time is come, the day draweth neere, let not the buyer reioyce, nor the seller mourne: for wrath is vpon all the multitude thereof.

בָּ֤א הָ/עֵת֙ הִגִּ֣יעַ הַ/יּ֔וֹם הַ/קּוֹנֶה֙ אַל יִשְׂמָ֔ח וְ/הַ/מּוֹכֵ֖ר אַל יִתְאַבָּ֑ל כִּ֥י חָר֖וֹן אֶל כָּל הֲמוֹנָֽ/הּ
For the seller shall not returne to that which is solde, although they were yet aliue: for the vision is touching the whole multitude thereof which shal not returne: neither shall any strengthen himselfe in the iniquity of his life.
GenevaFor hee that selleth, shall not returne to that which is solde, although they were yet aliue: for the vision was vnto al the multitude thereof, and they returned not, neither doeth any encourage himselfe in the punishment of his life.
כִּ֣י הַ/מּוֹכֵ֗ר אֶל הַ/מִּמְכָּר֙ לֹ֣א יָשׁ֔וּב וְ/ע֥וֹד בַּ/חַיִּ֖ים חַיָּתָ֑/ם כִּֽי חָז֤וֹן אֶל כָּל הֲמוֹנָ/הּ֙ לֹ֣א יָשׁ֔וּב וְ/אִ֧ישׁ בַּ/עֲוֺנ֛/וֹ חַיָּת֖/וֹ לֹ֥א יִתְחַזָּֽקוּ
They haue blowen the trumpet, euen to make all ready, but none goeth to the battell: for my wrath is vpon all the multitude thereof.

תָּקְע֤וּ בַ/תָּק֨וֹעַ֙ וְ/הָכִ֣ין הַ/כֹּ֔ל וְ/אֵ֥ין הֹלֵ֖ךְ לַ/מִּלְחָמָ֑ה כִּ֥י חֲרוֹנִ֖/י אֶל כָּל הֲמוֹנָֽ/הּ
The sword is without, and the pestilence and the famine within: he that is in the field shall die with the sword, and hee that is in the city, famine and pestilence shall deuoure him.
GenevaThe sword is without, and the pestilence, and the famine within: he that is in the field, shall dye with the sword, and he that is in the citie, famine and pestilence shall deuoure him.
הַ/חֶ֣רֶב בַּ/ח֔וּץ וְ/הַ/דֶּ֥בֶר וְ/הָ/רָעָ֖ב מִ/בָּ֑יִת אֲשֶׁ֤ר בַּ/שָּׂדֶה֙ בַּ/חֶ֣רֶב יָמ֔וּת וַ/אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּ/עִ֔יר רָעָ֥ב וָ/דֶ֖בֶר יֹאכֲלֶֽ/נּוּ
¶ But they that escape of them, shall escape, and shall be on the mountaines like doues of the valleys, all of them mourning, euery one for his iniquitie.
GenevaBut they that flee away from them, shall escape, and shalbe in the mountaines, like the doues of the valleis: all they shall mourne, euery one for his iniquitie.
וּ/פָֽלְטוּ֙ פְּלִ֣יטֵי/הֶ֔ם וְ/הָי֣וּ אֶל הֶ/הָרִ֗ים כְּ/יוֹנֵ֧י הַ/גֵּאָי֛וֹת כֻּלָּ֖/ם הֹמ֑וֹת אִ֖ישׁ בַּ/עֲוֺנֽ/וֹ
All hands shall be feeble, and all knees shalbe weake as water.
GenevaAll handes shalbe weake, and all knees shall fall away as water.
כָּל הַ/יָּדַ֖יִם תִּרְפֶּ֑ינָה וְ/כָל בִּרְכַּ֖יִם תֵּלַ֥כְנָה מָּֽיִם
They shall also girde themselues with sackcloth, and horrour shall couer them, and shame shall be vpon all faces, and baldnesse vpon all their heads.

וְ/חָגְר֣וּ שַׂקִּ֔ים וְ/כִסְּתָ֥ה אוֹתָ֖/ם פַּלָּצ֑וּת וְ/אֶ֤ל כָּל פָּנִים֙ בּוּשָׁ֔ה וּ/בְ/כָל רָאשֵׁי/הֶ֖ם קָרְחָֽה
They shall cast their siluer in the streets, and their golde shalbe remooued: their siluer and their golde shall not be able to deliuer them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfie their soules, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumbling blocke of their iniquitie.

כַּסְפָּ֞/ם בַּ/חוּצ֣וֹת יַשְׁלִ֗יכוּ וּ/זְהָבָ/ם֮ לְ/נִדָּ֣ה יִֽהְיֶה֒ כַּסְפָּ֨/ם וּ/זְהָבָ֜/ם לֹֽא יוּכַ֣ל לְ/הַצִּילָ֗/ם בְּ/יוֹם֙ עֶבְרַ֣ת יְהוָ֔ה נַפְשָׁ/ם֙ לֹ֣א יְשַׂבֵּ֔עוּ וּ/מֵעֵי/הֶ֖ם לֹ֣א יְמַלֵּ֑אוּ כִּֽי מִכְשׁ֥וֹל עֲוֺנָ֖/ם הָיָֽה
¶ As for the beautie of his ornament, he set it in maiestie: but they made the images of their abominations, and of their detestable things therein: therefore haue I set it farre from them.

וּ/צְבִ֤י עֶדְי/וֹ֙ לְ/גָא֣וֹן שָׂמָ֔/הוּ וְ/צַלְמֵ֧י תוֹעֲבֹתָ֛/ם שִׁקּוּצֵי/הֶ֖ם עָ֣שׂוּ ב֑/וֹ עַל כֵּ֛ן נְתַתִּ֥י/ו לָ/הֶ֖ם לְ/נִדָּֽה
And I will giue it into the hands of the strangers for a pray, and to the wicked of the earth for a spoile, and they shall pollute it.

וּ/נְתַתִּ֤י/ו בְּ/יַֽד הַ/זָּרִים֙ לָ/בַ֔ז וּ/לְ/רִשְׁעֵ֥י הָ/אָ֖רֶץ לְ/שָׁלָ֑ל ו/חלל/ה
My face will I turne also from them, and they shall pollute my secret place: for the robbers shall enter into it and defile it.
GenevaMy face will I turne also from them, and they shall pollute my secret place: for the destroyers shall enter into it, and defile it.
וַ/הֲסִבּוֹתִ֤י פָנַ/י֙ מֵ/הֶ֔ם וְ/חִלְּל֖וּ אֶת צְפוּנִ֑/י וּ/בָאוּ בָ֥/הּ פָּרִיצִ֖ים וְ/חִלְּלֽוּ/הָ
¶ Make a chaine: for the land is full of bloody crimes, the citie is full of violence.
GenevaMake a chaine: for the lande is full of the iudgement of blood, and the citie is full of crueltie.
עֲשֵׂ֖ה הָֽ/רַתּ֑וֹק כִּ֣י הָ/אָ֗רֶץ מָֽלְאָה֙ מִשְׁפַּ֣ט דָּמִ֔ים וְ/הָ/עִ֖יר מָלְאָ֥ה חָמָֽס
Wherfore I will bring the worst of the heathen, and they shall possesse their houses: I will also make the pompe of the strong to cease, and their holy places shall be defiled.

וְ/הֵֽבֵאתִי֙ רָעֵ֣י גוֹיִ֔ם וְ/יָרְשׁ֖וּ אֶת בָּֽתֵּי/הֶ֑ם וְ/הִשְׁבַּתִּי֙ גְּא֣וֹן עַזִּ֔ים וְ/נִחֲל֖וּ מְקַֽדְשֵׁי/הֶֽם
Destruction commeth, and they shall seeke peace, and there shall be none.
GenevaWhen destruction commeth, they shall seeke peace, and shall not haue it.
קְפָ֖דָה בָ֑א וּ/בִקְשׁ֥וּ שָׁל֖וֹם וָ/אָֽיִן
Mischiefe shall come vpon mischiefe, and rumour shall be vpon rumour, then shall they seeke a vision of the prophet: but the law shall perish from the priest, and counsell from the ancients.
GenevaCalamitie shall come vpon calamitie, and rumour shall bee vpon rumour: then shall they seeke a vision of the Prophet: but the Lawe shall perish from the Priest, and counsel from the Ancient.
הֹוָ֤ה עַל הֹוָה֙ תָּב֔וֹא וּ/שְׁמֻעָ֥ה אֶל שְׁמוּעָ֖ה תִּֽהְיֶ֑ה וּ/בִקְשׁ֤וּ חָזוֹן֙ מִ/נָּבִ֔יא וְ/תוֹרָה֙ תֹּאבַ֣ד מִ/כֹּהֵ֔ן וְ/עֵצָ֖ה מִ/זְּקֵנִֽים
The king shall mourne, and the prince shall be clothed with desolation, and the hands of the people of the land shall be troubled: I will doe vnto them after their way, and according to their deserts will I iudge them, and they shall know that I am the LORD.
GenevaThe King shall mourne, and the prince shall be clothed with desolation, and the handes of the people in the land shall be troubled: I wil doe vnto them according to their waies, and according to their iudgements will I iudge them, and they shall knowe that I am the Lord.
הַ/מֶּ֣לֶךְ יִתְאַבָּ֗ל וְ/נָשִׂיא֙ יִלְבַּ֣שׁ שְׁמָמָ֔ה וִ/ידֵ֥י עַם הָ/אָ֖רֶץ תִּבָּהַ֑לְנָה מִ/דַּרְכָּ֞/ם אֶעֱשֶׂ֤ה אוֹתָ/ם֙ וּ/בְ/מִשְׁפְּטֵי/הֶ֣ם אֶשְׁפְּטֵ֔/ם וְ/יָדְע֖וּ כִּֽי אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה
