Chapter 38
Ezekiel 38
And the word of þ LORD came vnto me, saying;
GenevaAnd the worde of the Lord came vnto mee, saying,
וַ/יְהִ֥י דְבַר יְהוָ֖ה אֵלַ֥/י לֵ/אמֹֽר
Sonne of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog the chiefe prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophecie against him,

בֶּן אָדָ֗ם שִׂ֤ים פָּנֶ֨י/ךָ֙ אֶל גּוֹג֙ אֶ֣רֶץ הַ/מָּג֔וֹג נְשִׂ֕יא רֹ֖אשׁ מֶ֣שֶׁךְ וְ/תֻבָ֑ל וְ/הִנָּבֵ֖א עָלָֽי/ו
And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chiefe prince of Meshech and Tubal.
GenevaAnd say, Thus sayth the Lord God, Behold, I come against thee, O Gog the chiefe prince of Meshech and Tubal.
וְ/אָ֣מַרְתָּ֔ כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֣/י יְהוִ֑ה הִנְ/נִ֤י אֵלֶ֨י/ךָ֙ גּ֔וֹג נְשִׂ֕יא רֹ֖אשׁ מֶ֥שֶׁךְ וְ/תֻבָֽל
And I will turne thee backe, and put hookes into thy chawes, and I will bring thee foorth, and all thine armie, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, euen a great company with bucklers & shields, all of them handling swordes.
GenevaAnd I wil destroy thee, and put hookes in thy chawes, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine host both horses, and horsemen, all clothed with al sorts of armour, eue a great multitude with bucklers, and shieldes, all handling swords.
וְ/שׁ֣וֹבַבְתִּ֔י/ךָ וְ/נָתַתִּ֥י חַחִ֖ים בִּ/לְחָיֶ֑י/ךָ וְ/הוֹצֵאתִי֩ אוֹתְ/ךָ֨ וְ/אֶת כָּל חֵילֶ֜/ךָ סוּסִ֣ים וּ/פָרָשִׁ֗ים לְבֻשֵׁ֤י מִכְלוֹל֙ כֻּלָּ֔/ם קָהָ֥ל רָב֙ צִנָּ֣ה וּ/מָגֵ֔ן תֹּפְשֵׂ֥י חֲרָב֖וֹת כֻּלָּֽ/ם
Persia, Ethiopia and Libya with them; all of them with shield & helmet:
GenevaThey of Paras, of Cush, and Phut with the, euen all they that beare shielde and helmet.
פָּרַ֛ס כּ֥וּשׁ וּ/פ֖וּט אִתָּ֑/ם כֻּלָּ֖/ם מָגֵ֥ן וְ/כוֹבָֽע
Gomer and all his bandes, the house of Togarmah of the North quarters, and all his bands, and many people with thee.

גֹּ֚מֶר וְ/כָל אֲגַפֶּ֔י/הָ בֵּ֚ית תּֽוֹגַרְמָ֔ה יַרְכְּתֵ֥י צָפ֖וֹן וְ/אֶת כָּל אֲגַפָּ֑י/ו עַמִּ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים אִתָּֽ/ךְ
Be thou prepared, and prepare for thy selfe, thou and all thy company, that are assembled vnto thee, and be thou a guard vnto them.
GenevaPrepare thy selfe, and make thee ready, both thou, and al thy multitude, that are assembled vnto thee, and be thou their sauegard.
הִכֹּן֙ וְ/הָכֵ֣ן לְ/ךָ֔ אַתָּ֕ה וְ/כָל קְהָלֶ֖/ךָ הַ/נִּקְהָלִ֣ים עָלֶ֑י/ךָ וְ/הָיִ֥יתָ לָ/הֶ֖ם לְ/מִשְׁמָֽר
¶ After many daies thou shalt be visited: in the latter yeeres thou shalt come into the land, that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people against the mountaines of Israel, which haue beene alwayes waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.
GenevaAfter many dayes thou shalt bee visited: for in the latter yeres thou shalt come into the land, that hath bene destroyed with the sworde, and is gathered out of many people vpon the mountaines of Israel, which haue long lien waste: yet they haue bene brought out of the people, and they shall dwell all safe.
מִ/יָּמִ֣ים רַבִּים֮ תִּפָּקֵד֒ בְּ/אַחֲרִ֨ית הַ/שָּׁנִ֜ים תָּב֣וֹא אֶל אֶ֣רֶץ מְשׁוֹבֶ֣בֶת מֵ/חֶ֗רֶב מְקֻבֶּ֨צֶת֙ מֵ/עַמִּ֣ים רַבִּ֔ים עַ֚ל הָרֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁר הָי֥וּ לְ/חָרְבָּ֖ה תָּמִ֑יד וְ/הִיא֙ מֵ/עַמִּ֣ים הוּצָ֔אָה וְ/יָשְׁב֥וּ לָ/בֶ֖טַח כֻּלָּֽ/ם
Thou shalt ascend and come like a storme, thou shalt be like a cloud to couer the land, thou and all thy bands, and many people with thee.
GenevaThou shalt ascende and come vp like a tempest, and shalt be like a cloude to couer the land, both thou, and all thy bandes, and many people with thee.
וְ/עָלִ֨יתָ֙ כַּ/שֹּׁאָ֣ה תָב֔וֹא כֶּ/עָנָ֛ן לְ/כַסּ֥וֹת הָ/אָ֖רֶץ תִּֽהְיֶ֑ה אַתָּה֙ וְ/כָל אֲגַפֶּ֔י/ךָ וְ/עַמִּ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים אוֹתָֽ/ךְ
Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to passe, that at the same time shall things come into thy minde, and thou shalt thinke an euill thought.
GenevaThus saith the Lord God, Euen at ye same time shall many things come into thy minde, and thou shalt thinke euil thoughts.
כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֣/י יְהוִ֑ה וְ/הָיָ֣ה בַּ/יּ֣וֹם הַ/ה֗וּא יַעֲל֤וּ דְבָרִים֙ עַל לְבָבֶ֔/ךָ וְ/חָשַׁבְתָּ֖ מַחֲשֶׁ֥בֶת רָעָֽה
And thou shalt say: I will goe vp to the land of vnwalled villages; I will goe to them that are at rest, that dwell safely all of them dwelling without walles, and hauing neither barres nor gates;
GenevaAnd thou shalt say, I wil go vp to the land that hath no walled towres: I will goe to them that are at rest, and dwell in safetie, which dwell all without walles, and haue neither barres nor gates,
וְ/אָמַרְתָּ֗ אֶֽעֱלֶה֙ עַל אֶ֣רֶץ פְּרָז֔וֹת אָבוֹא֙ הַ/שֹּׁ֣קְטִ֔ים יֹשְׁבֵ֖י לָ/בֶ֑טַח כֻּלָּ֗/ם יֹֽשְׁבִים֙ בְּ/אֵ֣ין חוֹמָ֔ה וּ/בְרִ֥יחַ וּ/דְלָתַ֖יִם אֵ֥ין לָ/הֶֽם
To take a spoile, and to take a praye, to turne thine hand vpon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and vpon the people that are gathered out of the nations which haue gotten cattel and goods, that dwell in the middest of the land.

לִ/שְׁלֹ֥ל שָׁלָ֖ל וְ/לָ/בֹ֣ז בַּ֑ז לְ/הָשִׁ֨יב יָדְ/ךָ֜ עַל חֳרָב֣וֹת נוֹשָׁבֹ֗ת וְ/אֶל עַם֙ מְאֻסָּ֣ף מִ/גּוֹיִ֔ם עֹשֶׂה֙ מִקְנֶ֣ה וְ/קִנְיָ֔ן יֹשְׁבֵ֖י עַל טַבּ֥וּר הָ/אָֽרֶץ
Sheba, and Dedan, and the marchants of Tarshish, with all the young lyons thereof, shall say vnto thee, Art thou come to take a spoile? hast thou gathered thy company to take a praye? to carie away siluer and gold, to take away cattell and goods, to take a great spoile?
GenevaSheba and Dedan, and the marchantes of Tarshish with all the lions thereof shall say vnto thee, Art thou come to spoyle the praye? hast thou gathered thy multitude to take a booty? to cary away siluer and golde, to take away cattell and goods, and to spoyle a great pray?
שְׁבָ֡א וּ֠/דְדָן וְ/סֹחֲרֵ֨י תַרְשִׁ֤ישׁ וְ/כָל כְּפִרֶ֨י/הָ֙ יֹאמְר֣וּ לְ/ךָ֔ הֲ/לִ/שְׁלֹ֤ל שָׁלָל֙ אַתָּ֣ה בָ֔א הֲ/לָ/בֹ֥ז בַּ֖ז הִקְהַ֣לְתָּ קְהָלֶ֑/ךָ לָ/שֵׂ֣את כֶּ֣סֶף וְ/זָהָ֗ב לָ/קַ֨חַת֙ מִקְנֶ֣ה וְ/קִנְיָ֔ן לִ/שְׁלֹ֖ל שָׁלָ֥ל גָּדֽוֹל
¶ Therefore, sonne of man, prophecie and say vnto Gog, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it?

לָ/כֵן֙ הִנָּבֵ֣א בֶן אָדָ֔ם וְ/אָמַרְתָּ֣ לְ/ג֔וֹג כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֖ר אֲדֹנָ֣/י יְהוִ֑ה הֲ/ל֣וֹא בַּ/יּ֣וֹם הַ/ה֗וּא בְּ/שֶׁ֨בֶת עַמִּ֧/י יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל לָ/בֶ֖טַח תֵּדָֽע
And thou shalt come from thy place out of the North parts, thou and many people with thee, all of them riding vpon horses, a great company, and a mighty armie.
GenevaAnd come from thy place out of the North partes, thou and much people with thee? all shall ride vpon horses, euen a great multitude and a mightie armie.
וּ/בָ֤אתָ מִ/מְּקֽוֹמְ/ךָ֙ מִ/יַּרְכְּתֵ֣י צָפ֔וֹן אַתָּ֕ה וְ/עַמִּ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים אִתָּ֑/ךְ רֹכְבֵ֤י סוּסִים֙ כֻּלָּ֔/ם קָהָ֥ל גָּד֖וֹל וְ/חַ֥יִל רָֽב
And thou shalt come vp against my people of Israel, as a cloud to couer the land; it shall be in the latter dayes, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.

וְ/עָלִ֨יתָ֙ עַל עַמִּ֣/י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל כֶּֽ/עָנָ֖ן לְ/כַסּ֣וֹת הָ/אָ֑רֶץ בְּ/אַחֲרִ֨ית הַ/יָּמִ֜ים תִּֽהְיֶ֗ה וַ/הֲבִאוֹתִ֨י/ךָ֙ עַל אַרְצִ֔/י לְמַעַן֩ דַּ֨עַת הַ/גּוֹיִ֜ם אֹתִ֗/י בְּ/הִקָּדְשִׁ֥/י בְ/ךָ֛ לְ/עֵינֵי/הֶ֖ם גּֽוֹג
Thus saith the Lord GOD; Art thou hee, of whom I haue spoken in old time by my seruants the prophets of Israel, which prophecied in those dayes many yeeres, that I would bring thee against them?
GenevaThus saith the Lord God, Art not thou he, of whom I haue spoken in olde time, by ye hand of my seruants the Prophets of Israel which prophecied in those dayes and yeeres, that I woulde bring thee vpon them?
כֹּֽה אָמַ֞ר אֲדֹנָ֣/י יְהוִ֗ה הַֽ/אַתָּה ה֨וּא אֲשֶׁר דִּבַּ֜רְתִּי בְּ/יָמִ֣ים קַדְמוֹנִ֗ים בְּ/יַד֙ עֲבָדַ/י֙ נְבִיאֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל הַֽ/נִּבְּאִ֛ים בַּ/יָּמִ֥ים הָ/הֵ֖ם שָׁנִ֑ים לְ/הָבִ֥יא אֹתְ/ךָ֖ עֲלֵי/הֶֽם
And it shall come to passe at the same time, when Gog shal come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that my furie shall come vp in my face.
GenevaAt the same time also whe Gog shall come against the land of Israel, sayth the Lord God, my wrath shall arise in mine anger.
וְ/הָיָ֣ה בַּ/יּ֣וֹם הַ/ה֗וּא בְּ/י֨וֹם בּ֥וֹא גוֹג֙ עַל אַדְמַ֣ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֣/י יְהוִ֑ה תַּעֲלֶ֥ה חֲמָתִ֖/י בְּ/אַפִּֽ/י
For in my iealousie, and in the fire of my wrath haue I spoken: surely in that day, there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel.
GenevaFor in mine indignation and in the fire of my wrath haue I spoken it: surely at that time there shalbe a great shaking in the land of Israel,
וּ/בְ/קִנְאָתִ֥/י בְ/אֵשׁ עֶבְרָתִ֖/י דִּבַּ֑רְתִּי אִם לֹ֣א בַּ/יּ֣וֹם הַ/ה֗וּא יִֽהְיֶה֙ רַ֣עַשׁ גָּד֔וֹל עַ֖ל אַדְמַ֥ת יִשְׂרָאֵֽל
So that the fishes of the sea, and the foules of the heauen, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creepe vpon the earth, and all the men that are vpon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountaines shall be throwen downe, and the steepe places shall fall, and euery wall shall fall to the ground.
GenevaSo that the fishes of the sea, and the foules of the heauen, and the beasts of the field and al that moue and creepe vpon the earth, and al ye men that are vpon the earth, shall tremble at my presence, and the mountaines shalbe ouerthrowen, and the staires shall fall, and euery wall shall fall to the ground.
וְ/רָעֲשׁ֣וּ מִ/פָּנַ֡/י דְּגֵ֣י הַ/יָּם֩ וְ/ע֨וֹף הַ/שָּׁמַ֜יִם וְ/חַיַּ֣ת הַ/שָּׂדֶ֗ה וְ/כָל הָ/רֶ֨מֶשׂ֙ הָ/רֹמֵ֣שׂ עַל הָֽ/אֲדָמָ֔ה וְ/כֹל֙ הָֽ/אָדָ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל פְּנֵ֣י הָ/אֲדָמָ֑ה וְ/נֶהֶרְס֣וּ הֶ/הָרִ֗ים וְ/נָֽפְלוּ֙ הַ/מַּדְרֵג֔וֹת וְ/כָל חוֹמָ֖ה לָ/אָ֥רֶץ תִּפּֽוֹל
And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountaines, saith the Lord GOD: euery mans sword shalbe against his brother.

וְ/קָרָ֨אתִי עָלָ֤י/ו לְ/כָל הָרַ/י֙ חֶ֔רֶב נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֣/י יְהוִ֑ה חֶ֥רֶב אִ֖ישׁ בְּ/אָחִ֥י/ו תִּֽהְיֶֽה
And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood, and I will raine vpon him and vpon his bands, and vpon the many people that are with him, an ouerflowing raine, and great hailestones, fire, and brimstone.
GenevaAnd I will pleade against him with pestilence, and with blood, and I will cause to raine vpon him and vpon his bands, and vpon the great people, that are with him, a sore raine, and hailestones, fire, and brimstone.
וְ/נִשְׁפַּטְתִּ֥י אִתּ֖/וֹ בְּ/דֶ֣בֶר וּ/בְ/דָ֑ם וְ/גֶ֣שֶׁם שׁוֹטֵף֩ וְ/אַבְנֵ֨י אֶלְגָּבִ֜ישׁ אֵ֣שׁ וְ/גָפְרִ֗ית אַמְטִ֤יר עָלָי/ו֙ וְ/עַל אֲגַפָּ֔י/ו וְ/עַל עַמִּ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר אִתּֽ/וֹ
Thus will I magnifie my selfe, and sanctifie my selfe, and I will be knowen in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD.
GenevaThus will I be magnified, and sanctified, and knowen in the eyes of many nations, and they shall knowe, that I am the Lord.
וְ/הִתְגַּדִּלְתִּי֙ וְ/הִתְקַדִּשְׁתִּ֔י וְ/נ֣וֹדַעְתִּ֔י לְ/עֵינֵ֖י גּוֹיִ֣ם רַבִּ֑ים וְ/יָדְע֖וּ כִּֽי אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה
