Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
GenevaChildren, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
Honour thy father and mother, (which is the first commandement with promise,)
GenevaHonour thy father and mother (which is the first commandement with promise)
That it may bee well with thee, and thou maiest liue long on the earth.
GenevaThat it may be well with thee, and that thou mayst liue long on earth.
And yee fathers, prouoke not your children to wrath: but bring them vp in the nourture and admonition of the Lord.
GenevaAnd ye, fathers, prouoke not your children to wrath: but bring them vp in instruction and information of the Lord.
Seruants, bee obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with feare and trembling, in singlenesse of your heart, as vnto Christ:
GenevaSeruants, be obedient vnto them that are your masters, according to the flesh, with feare and trembling in singlenesse of your hearts as vnto Christ,
Not with eye seruice as men pleasers, but as the seruants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart:
GenevaNot with seruice to the eye, as men pleasers, but as the seruants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart,
With good will doing seruice, as to the Lord, and not to men,
GenevaWith good will, seruing the Lord, and not men.
Knowing that whatsoeuer good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receiue of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.
GenevaAnd knowe ye that whatsoeuer good thing any man doeth, that same shall he receiue of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.
And ye masters, do the same things vnto them, forbearing threatning: knowing that your master also is in heauen, neither is there respect of persons with him.
GenevaAnd ye masters, doe the same things vnto them, putting away threatning: and know that euen your master also is in heauen, neither is there respect of person with him.
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, & in the power of his might.
GenevaFinally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the deuill.
GenevaPut on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the assaultes of the deuil.
For wee wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darknes of this world, against spirituall wickednes in high places.
GenevaFor we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, and against the worldly gouernours, the princes of the darkenesse of this worlde, against spirituall wickednesses, which are in ye hie places.
Wherfore take vnto you the whole armour of God, that yee may be able to withstand in the euill day, and hauing done all, to stand.
GenevaFor this cause take vnto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to resist in the euill day, and hauing finished all things, stand fast.
Stand therefore, hauing your loynes girt about with trueth, and hauing on the breast-plate of righteousnesse:
GenevaStand therefore, and your loynes girded about with veritie, and hauing on the brest plate of righteousnesse,
And your feete shod with the preparation of the Gospel of peace.
GenevaAnd your feete shod with the preparation of the Gospel of peace.

GenevaAboue all, take the shielde of faith, wherewith ye may quench all the fierie dartes of the wicked,
And take the helmet of saluation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
GenevaAnd take the helmet of saluation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the worde of God.
Praying alwayes with all prayer and supplication in the spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseuerance, and supplication for all Saints,
GenevaAnd pray alwayes with all maner prayer and supplication in the Spirit: and watch thereunto with all perseuerance and supplication for al Saints,
And for mee, that vtterance may be giuen vnto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make knowen the mysterie of the Gospel:
GenevaAnd for me, that vtterance may be giuen vnto me, that I may open my mouth boldly to publish the secret of the Gospel,
For which I am an ambassador in bonds, that therein I may speake boldly, as I ought to speake.
GenevaWhereof I am the ambassadour in bonds, that therein I may speake boldely, as I ought to speake.
But that yee also may know my affaires, and how I doe, Tychicus a beloued brother, and faithfull minister in the Lord, shall make knowen to you all things.
GenevaBut that ye may also know mine affaires, and what I doe, Tychicus my deare brother and faithfull minister in the Lord, shall shewe you of all things,
Whom I haue sent vnto you for the same purpose, that yee might know our affaires, and that he might comfort your hearts.
GenevaWhom I haue sent vnto you for the same purpose, that ye might knowe mine affaires, and that he might comfort your hearts.
