Chapter 33
Deuteronomy 33
And this is the blessing, wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death.
GenevaNowe this is the blessing wherewith Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death, and said,
וְ/זֹ֣את הַ/בְּרָכָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר בֵּרַ֥ךְ מֹשֶׁ֛ה אִ֥ישׁ הָ/אֱלֹהִ֖ים אֶת בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל לִ/פְנֵ֖י מוֹתֽ/וֹ
And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose vp from Seir vnto them, hee shined foorth from mount Paran, and hee came with ten thousands of Saints: from his Right hand went a fierie Law for them.
GenevaThe Lord came from Sinai, and rose vp from Seir vnto them, and appeared clearely from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of Saints, and at his right hand a firie Lawe for them.
וַ/יֹּאמַ֗ר יְהוָ֞ה מִ/סִּינַ֥י בָּא֙ וְ/זָרַ֤ח מִ/שֵּׂעִיר֙ לָ֔/מוֹ הוֹפִ֨יעַ֙ מֵ/הַ֣ר פָּארָ֔ן וְ/אָתָ֖ה מֵ/רִבְבֹ֣ת קֹ֑דֶשׁ מִֽ/ימִינ֕/וֹ אשדת לָֽ/מוֹ
Yea hee loued the people; all his Saints are in thy hand: and they sate downe at thy feete; euery one shall receiue of thy wordes.
GenevaThough hee loue the people, yet all thy Saints are in thine handes: and they are humbled at thy foete, to receiue thy words.
אַ֚ף חֹבֵ֣ב עַמִּ֔ים כָּל קְדֹשָׁ֖י/ו בְּ/יָדֶ֑/ךָ וְ/הֵם֙ תֻּכּ֣וּ לְ/רַגְלֶ֔/ךָ יִשָּׂ֖א מִ/דַּבְּרֹתֶֽי/ךָ
Moses commaunded vs a Law, euen the inheritance of the Congregation of Iacob.
GenevaMoses commanded vs a Lawe for an inheritance of the Congregation of Iaakob.
תּוֹרָ֥ה צִוָּה לָ֖/נוּ מֹשֶׁ֑ה מוֹרָשָׁ֖ה קְהִלַּ֥ת יַעֲקֹֽב
And hee was King in Iesurun, when the heads of the people, and the Tribes of Israel were gathered together.
GenevaThen he was among the righteous people, as King, when the heades of the people, and the tribes of Israel were assembled.
וַ/יְהִ֥י בִ/ישֻׁר֖וּן מֶ֑לֶךְ בְּ/הִתְאַסֵּף֙ רָ֣אשֵׁי עָ֔ם יַ֖חַד שִׁבְטֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל
¶ Let Reuben liue, and not die, and let not his men be few.
GenevaLet Reuben liue, and not die, though his men be a small nomber.
יְחִ֥י רְאוּבֵ֖ן וְ/אַל יָמֹ֑ת וִ/יהִ֥י מְתָ֖י/ו מִסְפָּֽר
¶ And this is the blessing of Iudah: and he said, Heare, LORD, the voice of Iudah, and bring him vnto his people: let his hands bee sufficient for him, and bee thou an helpe to him from his enemies.
GenevaAnd thus he blessed Iudah, and said, Heare, O Lord, the voyce of Iudah, and bring him vnto his people: his hands shalbe sufficient for him, if thou helpe him against his enemies.
וְ/זֹ֣את לִֽ/יהוּדָה֮ וַ/יֹּאמַר֒ שְׁמַ֤ע יְהוָה֙ ק֣וֹל יְהוּדָ֔ה וְ/אֶל עַמּ֖/וֹ תְּבִיאֶ֑/נּוּ יָדָי/ו֙ רָ֣ב ל֔/וֹ וְ/עֵ֥זֶר מִ/צָּרָ֖י/ו תִּהְיֶֽה
¶ And of Leui hee said, Let thy Thummim and thy Urim be with thy holy one, whom thou diddest prooue at Massah, & with whom thou didst striue at the waters of Meribah:
GenevaAnd of Leui he said, Let thy Thummim and thine Vrim be with thine Holy one, whome thou diddest proue in Massah, and didst cause him to striue at the waters of Meribah.
וּ/לְ/לֵוִ֣י אָמַ֔ר תֻּמֶּ֥י/ךָ וְ/אוּרֶ֖י/ךָ לְ/אִ֣ישׁ חֲסִידֶ֑/ךָ אֲשֶׁ֤ר נִסִּית/וֹ֙ בְּ/מַסָּ֔ה תְּרִיבֵ֖/הוּ עַל מֵ֥י מְרִיבָֽה
Who said vnto his father & to his mother, I haue not seene him, neither did hee acknowledge his brethren; nor knew his owne children: for they haue obserued thy word, and kept thy Couenant.

הָ/אֹמֵ֞ר לְ/אָבִ֤י/ו וּ/לְ/אִמּ/וֹ֙ לֹ֣א רְאִיתִ֔י/ו וְ/אֶת אֶחָי/ו֙ לֹ֣א הִכִּ֔יר וְ/אֶת בנ/ו לֹ֣א יָדָ֑ע כִּ֤י שָֽׁמְרוּ֙ אִמְרָתֶ֔/ךָ וּ/בְרִֽיתְ/ךָ֖ יִנְצֹֽרוּ
They shal teach Iacob thy iudgments, and Israel thy Lawe: they shall put incense before thee, and whole burnt sacrifice vpon thine Altar.
GenevaThey shall teach Iaakob thy iudgements, and Israel thy Lawe: they shall put incense before thy face, and the burnt offring vpon thine altar.
יוֹר֤וּ מִשְׁפָּטֶ֨י/ךָ֙ לְ/יַעֲקֹ֔ב וְ/תוֹרָתְ/ךָ֖ לְ/יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל יָשִׂ֤ימוּ קְטוֹרָה֙ בְּ/אַפֶּ֔/ךָ וְ/כָלִ֖יל עַֽל מִזְבְּחֶֽ/ךָ
Blesse, LORD, his substance, and accept the worke of his handes, smite thorow the loines of them that rise against him, and of them that hate him, that they rise not againe.
GenevaBlesse, O Lord, his substance, and accept the worke of his handes: smite through ye loynes of them that rise against him, and of them that hate him, that they rise not againe.
בָּרֵ֤ךְ יְהוָה֙ חֵיל֔/וֹ וּ/פֹ֥עַל יָדָ֖י/ו תִּרְצֶ֑ה מְחַ֨ץ מָתְנַ֧יִם קָמָ֛י/ו וּ/מְשַׂנְאָ֖י/ו מִן יְקוּמֽוּ/ן
¶ And of Beniamin he said, The beloued of the LORD shall dwell in safetie by him, and the LORD shall couer him all the day long, and he shall dwell betweene his shoulders.
GenevaOf Beniamin he said, The beloued of the Lord shall dwell in safetie by him: the Lord shall couer him all the day long, and dwell betweene his shoulders.
לְ/בִנְיָמִ֣ן אָמַ֔ר יְדִ֣יד יְהֹוָ֔ה יִשְׁכֹּ֥ן לָ/בֶ֖טַח עָלָ֑י/ו חֹפֵ֤ף עָלָי/ו֙ כָּל הַ/יּ֔וֹם וּ/בֵ֥ין כְּתֵיפָ֖י/ו שָׁכֵֽן
¶ And of Ioseph he said, Blessed of the LORD be his land, for the precious things of heauen, for the dew, and for the deep that coucheth beneath;
GenevaAnd of Ioseph hee sayde, Blessed of the Lord is his land for the sweetenesse of heauen, for the dewe, and for the depth lying beneath,
וּ/לְ/יוֹסֵ֣ף אָמַ֔ר מְבֹרֶ֥כֶת יְהֹוָ֖ה אַרְצ֑/וֹ מִ/מֶּ֤גֶד שָׁמַ֨יִם֙ מִ/טָּ֔ל וּ/מִ/תְּה֖וֹם רֹבֶ֥צֶת תָּֽחַת
And for the precious fruits brought forth by the sunne, and for the precious things put forth by the moone,
GenevaAnd for the sweete increase of the sunne, and for the sweete increase of the moone,
וּ/מִ/מֶּ֖גֶד תְּבוּאֹ֣ת שָׁ֑מֶשׁ וּ/מִ/מֶּ֖גֶד גֶּ֥רֶשׁ יְרָחִֽים
And for the chiefe things of the ancient mountaines, and for the precious things of the lasting hils,
GenevaAnd for the sweetenes of the top of the ancient mountaines, and for the sweetenes of the olde hilles,
וּ/מֵ/רֹ֖אשׁ הַרְרֵי קֶ֑דֶם וּ/מִ/מֶּ֖גֶד גִּבְע֥וֹת עוֹלָֽם
And for the precious things of the earth, and fulnesse thereof, and for the good will of him that dwelt in the bush: let the blessing come vpon the head of Ioseph, and vpon the top of the head of him that was separated frō his brethren.
GenevaAnd for the sweetenesse of the earth, and abundance thereof: and the good will of him that dwelt in the bushe, shall come vpon the head of Ioseph, and vpon the toppe of the head of him that was separated from his brethren.
וּ/מִ/מֶּ֗גֶד אֶ֚רֶץ וּ/מְלֹאָ֔/הּ וּ/רְצ֥וֹן שֹׁכְנִ֖י סְנֶ֑ה תָּב֨וֹאתָ/ה֙ לְ/רֹ֣אשׁ יוֹסֵ֔ף וּ/לְ/קָדְקֹ֖ד נְזִ֥יר אֶחָֽי/ו
His glory is like the firstling of his bullocke, & his hornes are like the hornes of Unicornes: with them he shall push the people together, to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh.
GenevaHis beautie shalbe like his first borne bullock, and his hornes as the hornes of an vnicorne: with them hee shall smite the people together, euen the endes of the world: these are also the ten thousands of Ephraim, and these are the thousands of Manasseh.
בְּכ֨וֹר שׁוֹר֜/וֹ הָדָ֣ר ל֗/וֹ וְ/קַרְנֵ֤י רְאֵם֙ קַרְנָ֔י/ו בָּ/הֶ֗ם עַמִּ֛ים יְנַגַּ֥ח יַחְדָּ֖ו אַפְסֵי אָ֑רֶץ וְ/הֵם֙ רִבְב֣וֹת אֶפְרַ֔יִם וְ/הֵ֖ם אַלְפֵ֥י מְנַשֶּֽׁה
¶ And of Zebulun he said, Reioyce, Zebulun, in thy going out; and Issachar, in thy tents.
GenevaAnd of Zebulun he sayd, Reioice, Zebulun, in thy going out, and thou Isshachar in thy tents.
וְ/לִ/זְבוּלֻ֣ן אָמַ֔ר שְׂמַ֥ח זְבוּלֻ֖ן בְּ/צֵאתֶ֑/ךָ וְ/יִשָּׂשכָ֖ר בְּ/אֹהָלֶֽי/ךָ
They shall call the people vnto the mountaine, there they shal offer sacrifices of righteousnesse: for they shall sucke of the abundance of the seas, and of treasures hid in the sand.

עַמִּים֙ הַר יִקְרָ֔אוּ שָׁ֖ם יִזְבְּח֣וּ זִבְחֵי צֶ֑דֶק כִּ֣י שֶׁ֤פַע יַמִּים֙ יִינָ֔קוּ וּ/שְׂפוּנֵ֖י טְמ֥וּנֵי חֽוֹל
¶ And of Gad he said, Blessed be he that enlargeth Gad: he dwelleth as a lyon, and teareth the arme with the crowne of the head.
GenevaAlso of Gad he said, Blessed be hee that enlargeth Gad: he dwelleth as a lion, that catcheth for his praye the arme with the head.
וּ/לְ/גָ֣ד אָמַ֔ר בָּר֖וּךְ מַרְחִ֣יב גָּ֑ד כְּ/לָבִ֣יא שָׁכֵ֔ן וְ/טָרַ֥ף זְר֖וֹעַ אַף קָדְקֹֽד
And he prouided the first part for himselfe, because there, in a portion of the lawgiuer was he seated, and hee came with the heads of the people, he executed the iustice of the LORD, and his iudgments with Israel.
GenevaAnd hee looked to himselfe at the beginning, because there was a portion of the Lawe-giuer hid: yet hee shall come with the heades of the people, to execute the iustice of the Lord, and his iudgements with Israel.
וַ/יַּ֤רְא רֵאשִׁית֙ ל֔/וֹ כִּי שָׁ֛ם חֶלְקַ֥ת מְחֹקֵ֖ק סָפ֑וּן וַ/יֵּתֵא֙ רָ֣אשֵׁי עָ֔ם צִדְקַ֤ת יְהוָה֙ עָשָׂ֔ה וּ/מִשְׁפָּטָ֖י/ו עִם יִשְׂרָאֵֽל
¶ And of Dan he said, Dan is a Lyons whelpe: hee shall leape from Bashan.
GenevaAnd of Dan he said, Dan is a lions whelp: he shall leape from Bashan.
וּ/לְ/דָ֣ן אָמַ֔ר דָּ֖ן גּ֣וּר אַרְיֵ֑ה יְזַנֵּ֖ק מִן הַ/בָּשָֽׁן
¶ And of Naphtali he said, O Naphtali, satisfied with fauour, and full with the blessing of the LORD: possesse thou the West and the South.
GenevaAlso of Naphtali he sayd, O Naphtali, satisfied with fauour, and filled with the blessing of the Lord, possesse the West and the South.
וּ/לְ/נַפְתָּלִ֣י אָמַ֔ר נַפְתָּלִי֙ שְׂבַ֣ע רָצ֔וֹן וּ/מָלֵ֖א בִּרְכַּ֣ת יְהוָ֑ה יָ֥ם וְ/דָר֖וֹם יְרָֽשָׁ/ה
¶ And of Asher hee said, let Asher be blessed with children, Let him be acceptable to his brethren, and let him dip his foot in oile.
GenevaAnd of Asher he saide, Asher shalbe blessed with children: he shalbe acceptable vnto his brethren, and shall dippe his foote in oyle.
וּ/לְ/אָשֵׁ֣ר אָמַ֔ר בָּר֥וּךְ מִ/בָּנִ֖ים אָשֵׁ֑ר יְהִ֤י רְצוּי֙ אֶחָ֔י/ו וְ/טֹבֵ֥ל בַּ/שֶּׁ֖מֶן רַגְלֽ/וֹ
Thy shooes shall bee yron and brasse, and as thy dayes, so shall thy strength bee.
GenevaThy shooes shalbe yron and brasse, and thy strength shall continue as long as thou liuest.
בַּרְזֶ֥ל וּ/נְחֹ֖שֶׁת מִנְעָלֶ֑י/ךָ וּ/כְ/יָמֶ֖י/ךָ דָּבְאֶֽ/ךָ
¶ There is none like vnto the God of Iesurun, who rideth vpon the heauen in thy helpe, and in his excellencie on the skie.
GenevaThere is none like God, O righteous people, which rideth vpon the heauens for thine helpe, and on the cloudes in his glory.
אֵ֥ין כָּ/אֵ֖ל יְשֻׁר֑וּן רֹכֵ֤ב שָׁמַ֨יִם֙ בְ/עֶזְרֶ֔/ךָ וּ/בְ/גַאֲוָת֖/וֹ שְׁחָקִֽים
The eternall God is thy refuge, and vnderneath are the euerlasting armes: and he shall thrust out the enemie from before thee, and shall say, Destroy them.
GenevaThe eternall God is thy refuge, and vnder his armes thou art for euer: hee shall cast out the enemie before thee, and will say, Destroy them.
מְעֹנָה֙ אֱלֹ֣הֵי קֶ֔דֶם וּ/מִ/תַּ֖חַת זְרֹעֹ֣ת עוֹלָ֑ם וַ/יְגָ֧רֶשׁ מִ/פָּנֶ֛י/ךָ אוֹיֵ֖ב וַ/יֹּ֥אמֶר הַשְׁמֵֽד
Israel then shall dwell in safetie alone: the fountaine of Iacob shalbe vpon a land of corne and wine, also his heauens shall drop downe deaw.
GenevaThen Israel the fountaine of Iaakob shall dwell alone in safetie in a lande of wheat, and wine: also his heauens shall drop the dewe.
וַ/יִּשְׁכֹּן֩ יִשְׂרָאֵ֨ל בֶּ֤טַח בָּדָד֙ עֵ֣ין יַעֲקֹ֔ב אֶל אֶ֖רֶץ דָּגָ֣ן וְ/תִיר֑וֹשׁ אַף שָׁמָ֖י/ו יַֽעַרְפוּ טָֽל
Happy art thou, O Israel: Who is like vnto thee, O people! saued by the LORD, the shield of thy helpe, and who is the sword of thy excellencie: and thine enemies shal be found liars vnto thee, and thou shalt tread vpon their high places.
GenevaBlessed art thou, O Israel: who is like vnto thee, O people saued by the Lord, the shielde of thine helpe, and which is the sword of thy glorie? therefore thine enemies shall bee in subiection to thee, and thou shalt tread vpon their hie places.
אַשְׁרֶ֨י/ךָ יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל מִ֣י כָמ֗וֹ/ךָ עַ֚ם נוֹשַׁ֣ע בַּֽ/יהוָ֔ה מָגֵ֣ן עֶזְרֶ֔/ךָ וַ/אֲשֶׁר חֶ֖רֶב גַּאֲוָתֶ֑/ךָ וְ/יִכָּֽחֲשׁ֤וּ אֹיְבֶ֨י/ךָ֙ לָ֔/ךְ וְ/אַתָּ֖ה עַל בָּמוֹתֵ֥י/מוֹ תִדְרֹֽךְ
