1 Kings 10
And when the Queene of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, concerning the Name of the LORD; shee came to prooue him with hard questions.

וּ/מַֽלְכַּת שְׁבָ֗א שֹׁמַ֛עַת אֶת שֵׁ֥מַע שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה לְ/שֵׁ֣ם יְהוָ֑ה וַ/תָּבֹ֥א לְ/נַסֹּת֖/וֹ בְּ/חִידֽוֹת
And she came to Ierusalem with a very great traine, with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones: and when shee was come to Solomon, she communed with him, of all that was in her heart.
GenevaAnd she came to Ierusalem with a verie great traine, and camels that bare sweete odours, and golde exceeding much, and precious stones: and shee came to Salomon, and communed with him of all that was in her heart.
וַ/תָּבֹ֣א יְרוּשָׁלְַ֗מָ/ה בְּ/חַיִל֮ כָּבֵ֣ד מְאֹד֒ גְּ֠מַלִּים נֹשְׂאִ֨ים בְּשָׂמִ֧ים וְ/זָהָ֛ב רַב מְאֹ֖ד וְ/אֶ֣בֶן יְקָרָ֑ה וַ/תָּבֹא֙ אֶל שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה וַ/תְּדַבֵּ֣ר אֵלָ֔י/ו אֵ֛ת כָּל אֲשֶׁ֥ר הָיָ֖ה עִם לְבָבָֽ/הּ
And Solomon tolde her all her questions: there was not any thing hid from the king, which hee told her not.
GenevaAnd Salomon declared vnto her all her questions: nothing was hid from the King, which he expounded not vnto her.
וַ/יַּגֶּד לָ֥/הּ שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה אֶת כָּל דְּבָרֶ֑י/הָ לֹֽא הָיָ֤ה דָּבָר֙ נֶעְלָ֣ם מִן הַ/מֶּ֔לֶךְ אֲשֶׁ֧ר לֹ֦א הִגִּ֖יד לָֽ/הּ
And when the Queene of Sheba had seene all Solomons wisedome, and the house that he had built,
GenevaThen the Queene of Sheba sawe all Salomons wisedome, and the house that he had built,
וַ/תֵּ֨רֶא֙ מַֽלְכַּת שְׁבָ֔א אֵ֖ת כָּל חָכְמַ֣ת שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה וְ/הַ/בַּ֖יִת אֲשֶׁ֥ר בָּנָֽה
And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his seruants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparell, and his cup bearers, and his ascent by which hee went vp vnto the house of the LORD: there was no more spirit in her.
GenevaAnd the meate of his table, and the sitting of his seruants, and the order of his ministers, and their apparel, and his drinking vessels, and his burnt offrings, that he offered in the house of the Lord, and she was greatly astonied.
וּ/מַאֲכַ֣ל שֻׁלְחָנ֡/וֹ וּ/מוֹשַׁ֣ב עֲבָדָי/ו֩ וּ/מַעֲמַ֨ד משרת/ו וּ/מַלְבֻּֽשֵׁי/הֶם֙ וּ/מַשְׁקָ֔י/ו וְ/עֹ֣לָת֔/וֹ אֲשֶׁ֥ר יַעֲלֶ֖ה בֵּ֣ית יְהוָ֑ה וְ/לֹא הָ֥יָה בָ֛/הּ ע֖וֹד רֽוּחַ
And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in mine owne land, of thy actes and of thy wisedome.
GenevaAnd shee sayde vnto the King, It was a true worde that I heard in mine owne lande of thy sayings, and of thy wisedome.
וַ/תֹּ֨אמֶר֙ אֶל הַ/מֶּ֔לֶךְ אֱמֶת֙ הָיָ֣ה הַ/דָּבָ֔ר אֲשֶׁ֥ר שָׁמַ֖עְתִּי בְּ/אַרְצִ֑/י עַל דְּבָרֶ֖י/ךָ וְ/עַל חָכְמָתֶֽ/ךָ
Howbeit, I beleeued not the words, vntill I came and mine eyes had seene it: and beholde, the halfe was not told me: thy wisedom and prosperitie exceedeth the fame which I heard.
GenevaHowebeit I beleeued not this report till I came, and had seene it with mine eyes: but lo, ye one halfe was not tolde mee: for thou hast more wisedome and prosperitie, then I haue heard by report.
וְ/לֹֽא הֶאֱמַ֣נְתִּי לַ/דְּבָרִ֗ים עַ֤ד אֲשֶׁר בָּ֨אתִי֙ וַ/תִּרְאֶ֣ינָה עֵינַ֔/י וְ/הִנֵּ֥ה לֹֽא הֻגַּד לִ֖/י הַ/חֵ֑צִי הוֹסַ֤פְתָּ חָכְמָה֙ וָ/ט֔וֹב אֶל הַ/שְּׁמוּעָ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר שָׁמָֽעְתִּי
Happie are thy men, happy are these thy seruants, which stand continually before thee, and that heare thy wisedom.
GenevaHappy are the men, happie are these thy seruants, which stande euer before thee, and heare thy wisedome.
אַשְׁרֵ֣י אֲנָשֶׁ֔י/ךָ אַשְׁרֵ֖י עֲבָדֶ֣י/ךָ אֵ֑לֶּה הָֽ/עֹמְדִ֤ים לְ/פָנֶ֨י/ךָ֙ תָּמִ֔יד הַ/שֹּׁמְעִ֖ים אֶת חָכְמָתֶֽ/ךָ
Blessed be the LORD thy God which delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel; because the LORD loued Israel for euer, therefore made he thee King, to doe iudgement and iustice.
GenevaBlessed be the Lord thy God, which loued thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel, because the Lord loued Israel for euer and made thee King to doe equitie and righteousnesse.
יְהִ֨י יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֶ֨י/ךָ֙ בָּר֔וּךְ אֲשֶׁר֙ חָפֵ֣ץ בְּ/ךָ֔ לְ/תִתְּ/ךָ֖ עַל כִּסֵּ֣א יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל בְּ/אַהֲבַ֨ת יְהוָ֤ה אֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לְ/עֹלָ֔ם וַ/יְשִֽׂימְ/ךָ֣ לְ/מֶ֔לֶךְ לַ/עֲשׂ֥וֹת מִשְׁפָּ֖ט וּ/צְדָקָֽה
And she gaue the king an hundred and twentie talents of gold, and of spices very great store, & precious stones: there came no more such abundance of spices, as these, which the Queene of Sheba gaue to king Solomon.
GenevaAnd she gaue the King sixe score talents of golde, and of sweete odours exceeding much, and precious stones. There came no more such aboundance of sweete odours, as the Queene of Sheba gaue to King Salomon.
וַ/תִּתֵּ֨ן לַ/מֶּ֜לֶךְ מֵאָ֥ה וְ/עֶשְׂרִ֣ים כִּכַּ֣ר זָהָ֗ב וּ/בְשָׂמִ֛ים הַרְבֵּ֥ה מְאֹ֖ד וְ/אֶ֣בֶן יְקָרָ֑ה לֹא בָא֩ כַ/בֹּ֨שֶׂם הַ/ה֥וּא עוֹד֙ לָ/רֹ֔ב אֲשֶׁר נָתְנָ֥ה מַֽלְכַּת שְׁבָ֖א לַ/מֶּ֥לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹֽה
And the nauie also of Hiram that brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir, great plentie of Almug trees, and precious stones.
GenevaThe nauie also of Hiram (that caried gold from Ophir) brought likewise great plentie of Almuggim trees from Ophir and precious stones.
וְ/גַם֙ אֳנִ֣י חִירָ֔ם אֲשֶׁר נָשָׂ֥א זָהָ֖ב מֵ/אוֹפִ֑יר הֵבִ֨יא מֵ/אֹפִ֜יר עֲצֵ֧י אַלְמֻגִּ֛ים הַרְבֵּ֥ה מְאֹ֖ד וְ/אֶ֥בֶן יְקָרָֽה
And the king made of the Almug trees, pillars for the house of the LORD, and for the Kings house, Harpes also and Psalteries for singers: there came no such Almug trees, nor were seene vnto this day.
GenevaAnd the King made of ye Almuggim trees pillars for the house of the Lord, and for ye Kings palace, and made harpes and psalteries for singers. There came no more such Almuggim trees, nor were any more seene vnto this day.
וַ/יַּ֣עַשׂ הַ֠/מֶּלֶךְ אֶת עֲצֵ֨י הָ/אַלְמֻגִּ֜ים מִסְעָ֤ד לְ/בֵית יְהוָה֙ וּ/לְ/בֵ֣ית הַ/מֶּ֔לֶךְ וְ/כִנֹּר֥וֹת וּ/נְבָלִ֖ים לַ/שָּׁרִ֑ים לֹ֣א בָֽא כֵ֞ן עֲצֵ֤י אַלְמֻגִּים֙ וְ/לֹ֣א נִרְאָ֔ה עַ֖ד הַ/יּ֥וֹם הַ/זֶּֽה
And king Solomon gaue vnto the Queene of Sheba, al her desire whatsoeuer she asked, besides that which Solomon gaue her of his royall bountie: so she turned and went to her owne countrey, she and her seruants.

וְ/הַ/מֶּ֨לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֜ה נָתַ֣ן לְ/מַֽלְכַּת שְׁבָ֗א אֶת כָּל חֶפְצָ/הּ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר שָׁאָ֔לָה מִ/לְּ/בַד֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר נָֽתַן לָ֔/הּ כְּ/יַ֖ד הַ/מֶּ֣לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה וַ/תֵּ֛פֶן וַ/תֵּ֥לֶךְ לְ/אַרְצָ֖/הּ הִ֥יא וַ/עֲבָדֶֽי/הָ
¶ Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one yere, was sixe hundred, threescore & six talents of gold,
GenevaAlso the weight of golde, that came to Salomon in one yeere, was sixe hundreth three score and six talents of gold,
וַֽ/יְהִי֙ מִשְׁקַ֣ל הַ/זָּהָ֔ב אֲשֶׁר בָּ֥א לִ/שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה בְּ/שָׁנָ֣ה אֶחָ֑ת שֵׁ֥שׁ מֵא֛וֹת שִׁשִּׁ֥ים וָ/שֵׁ֖שׁ כִּכַּ֥ר זָהָֽב
Besides that he had of the merchant men, and of the traffique of the spicemerchants, and of all the kings of Arabia, and of the gouernours of the countrey.
GenevaBesides that he had of marchant men and of the marchandises of them that solde spices, and of all the Kinges of Arabia, and of the princes of the countrey.
לְ/בַד֙ מֵ/אַנְשֵׁ֣י הַ/תָּרִ֔ים וּ/מִסְחַ֖ר הָ/רֹכְלִ֑ים וְ/כָל מַלְכֵ֥י הָ/עֶ֖רֶב וּ/פַח֥וֹת הָ/אָֽרֶץ
¶ And king Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten golde: sixe hundred shekels of golde went to one target.
GenevaAnd King Salomon made two hundreth targets of beaten golde, sixe hundreth shekels of gold went to a target:
וַ/יַּ֨עַשׂ הַ/מֶּ֧לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֛ה מָאתַ֥יִם צִנָּ֖ה זָהָ֣ב שָׁח֑וּט שֵׁשׁ מֵא֣וֹת זָהָ֔ב יַעֲלֶ֖ה עַל הַ/צִּנָּ֥ה הָ/אֶחָֽת
And he made three hundred shields of beaten gold, three pound of gold went to one shield; and the king put them in the house of the forrest of Lebanon.
GenevaAnd three hundreth shieldes of beaten golde, three pound of gold went to one shielde: and the King put them in the house of the wood of Lebanon.
וּ/שְׁלֹשׁ מֵא֤וֹת מָֽגִנִּים֙ זָהָ֣ב שָׁח֔וּט שְׁלֹ֤שֶׁת מָנִים֙ זָהָ֔ב יַעֲלֶ֖ה עַל הַ/מָּגֵ֣ן הָ/אֶחָ֑ת וַ/יִּתְּנֵ֣/ם הַ/מֶּ֔לֶךְ בֵּ֖ית יַ֥עַר הַ/לְּבָנֽוֹן
¶ Moreouer the king made a great throne of yuorie, and ouerlaide it with the best gold.
GenevaThen the King made a great throne of yuorie, and couered it with the best golde.
וַ/יַּ֧עַשׂ הַ/מֶּ֛לֶךְ כִּסֵּא שֵׁ֖ן גָּד֑וֹל וַ/יְצַפֵּ֖/הוּ זָהָ֥ב מוּפָֽז
The throne had sixe steps, and the top of the throne was round behind: and there were stayes on either side on the place of the seate, and two lyons stood beside the stayes.
GenevaAnd the throne had six steps, and the top of the throne was round behind, and there were stayes on either side on the place of the throne, and two lions standing by the stayes.
שֵׁ֧שׁ מַעֲל֣וֹת לַ/כִּסֵּ֗ה וְ/רֹאשׁ עָגֹ֤ל לַ/כִּסֵּה֙ מֵ/אַֽחֲרָ֔י/ו וְ/יָדֹ֛ת מִ/זֶּ֥ה וּ/מִ/זֶּ֖ה אֶל מְק֣וֹם הַ/שָּׁ֑בֶת וּ/שְׁנַ֣יִם אֲרָי֔וֹת עֹמְדִ֖ים אֵ֥צֶל הַ/יָּדֽוֹת
And twelue lions stood there on the one side and on the other vpon the sixe steps: there was not the like made in any kingdome.
GenevaAnd there stoode twelue lions on the sixe steps on either side: there was not the like made in any kingdome.
וּ/שְׁנֵ֧ים עָשָׂ֣ר אֲרָיִ֗ים עֹמְדִ֥ים שָׁ֛ם עַל שֵׁ֥שׁ הַֽ/מַּעֲל֖וֹת מִ/זֶּ֣ה וּ/מִ/זֶּ֑ה לֹֽא נַעֲשָׂ֥ה כֵ֖ן לְ/כָל מַמְלָכֽוֹת
¶ And all king Solomons drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forrest of Lebanon were of pure gold, none were of siluer, it was nothing accounted of in the dayes of Solomon.
GenevaAnd all King Salomons drinking vessels were of golde, and all the vessels of the house of the woode of Lebanon were of pure golde, none were of siluer: for it was nothing esteemed in the dayes of Salomon.
וְ֠/כֹל כְּלֵ֞י מַשְׁקֵ֨ה הַ/מֶּ֤לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹה֙ זָהָ֔ב וְ/כֹ֗ל כְּלֵ֛י בֵּֽית יַ֥עַר הַ/לְּבָנ֖וֹן זָהָ֣ב סָג֑וּר אֵ֣ין כֶּ֗סֶף לֹ֥א נֶחְשָׁ֛ב בִּ/ימֵ֥י שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה לִ/מְאֽוּמָה
For the king had at sea a nauie of Tharshish, with the nauie of Hiram: once in three yeeres came the nauie of Tharshish, bringing golde and siluer, yuorie, and apes, and peacocks.

כִּי֩ אֳנִ֨י תַרְשִׁ֤ישׁ לַ/מֶּ֨לֶךְ֙ בַּ/יָּ֔ם עִ֖ם אֳנִ֣י חִירָ֑ם אַחַת֩ לְ/שָׁלֹ֨שׁ שָׁנִ֜ים תָּב֣וֹא אֳנִ֣י תַרְשִׁ֗ישׁ נֹֽשְׂאֵת֙ זָהָ֣ב וָ/כֶ֔סֶף שֶׁנְהַבִּ֥ים וְ/קֹפִ֖ים וְ/תֻכִּיִּֽים
So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth, for riches and for wisedome.
GenevaSo King Salomon exceeded all the kings of the earth both in riches and in wisedome.
וַ/יִּגְדַּל֙ הַ/מֶּ֣לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה מִ/כֹּ֖ל מַלְכֵ֣י הָ/אָ֑רֶץ לְ/עֹ֖שֶׁר וּ/לְ/חָכְמָֽה
¶ And all the earth sought to Solomon, to heare his wisedom which God had put in his heart.
GenevaAnd al the world sought to see Salomon, to heare his wisedome, which God had put in his heart,
וְ/כָ֨ל הָ/אָ֔רֶץ מְבַקְשִׁ֖ים אֶת פְּנֵ֣י שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה לִ/שְׁמֹ֨עַ֙ אֶת חָכְמָת֔/וֹ אֲשֶׁר נָתַ֥ן אֱלֹהִ֖ים בְּ/לִבּֽ/וֹ
And they brought euery man his present, vessels of siluer, and vessels of gold, and garments, and armour, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate yeere by yeere.

וְ/הֵ֣מָּה מְבִאִ֣ים אִ֣ישׁ מִנְחָת֡/וֹ כְּלֵ֣י כֶסֶף֩ וּ/כְלֵ֨י זָהָ֤ב וּ/שְׂלָמוֹת֙ וְ/נֵ֣שֶׁק וּ/בְשָׂמִ֔ים סוּסִ֖ים וּ/פְרָדִ֑ים דְּבַר שָׁנָ֖ה בְּ/שָׁנָֽה
¶ And Solomon gathered together charets and horsemen. And hee had a thousand and foure hundred charets, and twelue thousand horsemen, whom he bestowed in the cities for charets, and with the king at Ierusalem.

וַ/יֶּאֱסֹ֣ף שְׁלֹמֹה֮ רֶ֣כֶב וּ/פָרָשִׁים֒ וַ/יְהִי ל֗/וֹ אֶ֤לֶף וְ/אַרְבַּע מֵאוֹת֙ רֶ֔כֶב וּ/שְׁנֵים עָשָׂ֥ר אֶ֖לֶף פָּֽרָשִׁ֑ים וַ/יַּנְחֵ/ם֙ בְּ/עָרֵ֣י הָ/רֶ֔כֶב וְ/עִם הַ/מֶּ֖לֶךְ בִּ/ירוּשָׁלִָֽם
And the king made siluer to be in Ierusalem as stones, and Cedars made he to be as the Sycomore trees, that are in the vale for abundance.
GenevaAnd the King gaue siluer in Ierusalem as stones, and gaue cedars as the wilde figtrees that growe abundantly in the plaine.
וַ/יִּתֵּ֨ן הַ/מֶּ֧לֶךְ אֶת הַ/כֶּ֛סֶף בִּ/ירוּשָׁלִַ֖ם כָּ/אֲבָנִ֑ים וְ/אֵ֣ת הָ/אֲרָזִ֗ים נָתַ֛ן כַּ/שִּׁקְמִ֥ים אֲשֶׁר בַּ/שְּׁפֵלָ֖ה לָ/רֹֽב
¶ And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarne: the kings merchants receiued the linen yarne at a price.
GenevaAlso Salomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and fine linen: the Kings marchants receiued the linen for a price.
וּ/מוֹצָ֧א הַ/סּוּסִ֛ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר לִ/שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה מִ/מִּצְרָ֑יִם וּ/מִ/קְוֵ֕ה סֹחֲרֵ֣י הַ/מֶּ֔לֶךְ יִקְח֥וּ מִ/קְוֵ֖ה בִּ/מְחִֽיר
And a charet came vp and went out of Egypt for sixe hundred shekels of siluer, and an horse for an hundred and fiftie: and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, did they bring them out by their meanes.
GenevaThere came vp and went out of Egypt some charet, worth sixe hundreth shekels of siluer: that is, one horse, an hundreth and fiftie and thus they brought horses to all the Kings of the Hittites and to the Kings of Aram by their meanes.
וַֽ֠/תַּעֲלֶה וַ/תֵּצֵ֨א מֶרְכָּבָ֤ה מִ/מִּצְרַ֨יִם֙ בְּ/שֵׁ֣שׁ מֵא֣וֹת כֶּ֔סֶף וְ/ס֖וּס בַּ/חֲמִשִּׁ֣ים וּ/מֵאָ֑ה וְ֠/כֵן לְ/כָל מַלְכֵ֧י הַ/חִתִּ֛ים וּ/לְ/מַלְכֵ֥י אֲרָ֖ם בְּ/יָדָ֥/ם יֹצִֽאוּ
